The Secret Life of the American Teenager (2008)
Dreadfully Cliché! Read at your own risk...
"The Secret Life of the American Teenager" captures minimal interest at best with its' monosyllabic characters and awkward dialogue. First of all, the title of this show makes offensive implications, especially since the whole thing is about teenagers having sex. Not all American teens, especially those who have ethnic backgrounds in India and Oriental nations even consider having sex. Are they trying to further the stereotype that Americans are responsible for setting trends of teenage sex around the world? I am sure that wasn't the intention, but the title still disgusts me. Now, when watching the program I realized that the makers made one terrible mistake: they included the characters of Ricky and Adrian. They are the lascivious juveniles that stick around and target good looking people to seduce. If this program is about how teenage sex is a problem, then you have to make the sexually active people either have serious insecurities or be unlikable, not the opposite. Also, something about the way this show treats sex is really off. In Amy's (the main character's) family, the word is used leisurely, in fact there hasn't been more than four sentences without the word "sex" in it. and Amy, who is fourteen years old , seems to be older and a lot more scrupulous than her mom. Her boyfriend is even more sensitive and boring. If this is a show about teenagers, please, give us teenage personalities. Give us kids that are exploring and confused, not guilty people who try to cover up the past with hems and haws. This is neither entertaining nor informative and nowadays, people tend to have sex with others who they plan to get serious with (like marry). It would have been interesting to see two people in a serious relationship stifle their urges. But the reverse happens instead. This is a soap opera cliché that would barely happen in real life.
The Dark Knight (2008)
dark and complex, yet engrossing and entertaining.
Batman was always more dark than the other superheroes. He was always mysterious and detached, so much so, that we, as his fans, wondered if he ever had a perplexing moment. The cool thing about "The Dark Knight," is that it is flooded with such interesting and perplexing circumstances and characters, that by the end we learn very clearly what his role is in Gotham City. In fact, the entire movie was a very engrossing and realistic outtake on the situation of Gotham city, which is a solemner and shadier version of downtown Chicago. It shows us the bigger picture: there is a population of people protected by a police commissioner (James Gordon), a district attorney (Harvey Dent), and the batman. And and all of them are forced to work through dilemmas that question their faith for the good. Then you have the scheming underground mob who are arrogant about their plans but become blinded by the Joker, whose lack of plans and wantonness is terrifying, but whose dialogue is incisive. Rachel Dawes has a more complex role that strengthens the plot and makes the whole thing more interesting. So overall, I think it's an amazing movie. The acting was brilliant. I enjoyed Batman's voice, the Joker's personality and Harvey Dent's transformation. There was nothing perfunctory, but perfect.
Penelope (2006)
A multifarious oddity,
"Penelope" is a multifarious oddity . It might be a flowery fairytale from the surface, but it tends to paint some subduing and gritty pictures, especially when we see the hero (James McAcvoy) constantly gamble away his money at a shady bar. Also, there are witches and curses in the beginning, but as the plot untangles, we are stuck witnessing a world where there are no wireless phones and headlines are downsized to report petty things like 'a girl who looks like a pig says "hello"'. Now that I mention it, the story is about a girl who has the snout of a pig. Funny thing, because at the movie's inception, we are made to believe that she also has the ears of a pig, but the movie conveniently decides to not show us that part. Anyways, the reason why I keep on mentioning the beginning is because that's the only part of the movie I truly enjoyed. The beginning is so different than the middle and the end. Well, that's because the upcoming love story is too awkward and the background characters (Reese Witherspoon and that other bar guy) are too random and unnecessary. Penelope would not seem that atrocious in our world, where I am sure there are people with more severe and turgid facial problems. So excuse me when I say, that this movie does not cut it.
The Kite Runner (2007)
truly inspiring and worth the watch
I am one of those people who cry very rarely when seeing movies and I swear that this movie stimulated me to do it the second time (first was Gandhi). It was AMAZING. I loved how well the characters were portrayed, especially young Hassan (Ahmad Khan Mahmidzada). Although this is not a political movie, it does show an educational glimpse of how the Taliban rule was treating Afghanistan's citizens (especially the orphans
ew) and encouraging the very thing that they sought to destroy (injustice). Now although all of this movie is set during turbulent times in Afghanistan, the main story is about these two friends, Hassan and Amir who get separated when the Russians invade their country and about how Hassan pledges his loyalty to Amir. Amir, who seems to be a developing character throughout the story is impacted very much by Hassan's friendship and it helps him to face his own suffering country once again. The acting was of course sensational, the movie was taken very well, the background music was amazing
there are a few parts you may not understand, so it's better to watch it with someone who read the book (for me it was my sister).
The Great Debaters (2007)
I adore such movies...
"The Great Debaters" is an enthralling movie about three young people from Wiley College, a school from the south where only blacks attend (the setting's in 1936) who use their personal experiences, undeniable wit, research and passionate oratory skills to become a powerful debate team. This movie is not just a dry documentary of what debating is all about and does not give us three bland ciphers to scrutinize and aw over. Instead, it shows us, through their debating experience how discipline, hard work, inspiration and standing for what you believe in can make you succeed. I believe that all people taking Speech and Debate in their school should watch this movie. Because if you can speak like how the Wiley debaters spoke, then you are a winner. Although the Wiley Team never fought affirmative for what they didn't believe in, I felt that constant victories in their performances and heartfelt speeches are what the audience (namely myself) would want to see. I was truly inspired by this movie and now I understand why my dad was so keen for me to see this. I could totally relate to how James (Denzel Whitaker) felt when he couldn't stand up and defend his proposition, it is truly nerve-racking to speak in front of a bunch of judges. It is, I think one of the best movies of the year.
The Golden Compass (2007)
Good enough but not great....can't become as good a legend as "the lord of the rings"
The Golden Compass is good enough, but nothing amazing. The book was apparently written before the Lord of the Rings and my friend was complaining about how much worse it is. I suppose it depends on your opinion, but I found Lord of the Rings better. This movie plunges us viewers into another fictional dimension with a phenomenon about "dust connecting worlds" which is a bit confusing. The movie starts with a narration like in LOTR where they decide to shove the whole "demon containing soul" thing in our faces too quickly, so that it becomes a bit silly. Before I even processed and accepted the information, the movie got deep into the conflicts. My next complaint is that the cutting and scene editing is not as good as it should be. Sometimes a scene got introduced automatically after one got over. But there were definitely some pros. The Golden Compass is not at all boring. Nicole Kidman shines as the villain, while the girl (main character) did a fairly good job of being brave, stubborn and feisty. The polar bear is awesome and I'm sure kids will enjoy it. Don't have very high expectations though.
Taare Zameen Par (2007)
Carries a lot of emotional weight and room for connection...
I was impressed with this movie. Even more than with the Kite Runner. Mainly because it is one of the most sensitive and realistic Hindi movies that I have ever seen in my life. The first thing my sister said when we were out of the theater was "I want that kid's autograph." Darsheel Safary did a brilliant job as the dyslexic but cute Ishaan. I recommend that ALL parents watch this movie WITH their kids. This movie shows the effects of parental pressure, social isolation, and
inspiration, of course. Aamir Khan was very provoking as the caring art teacher, Nikumbh, that recognizes young Ishaan's mental withdrawal yet his amazing ability to paint and build. It is one thing to imagine such bizarre things, but to put it on paper or construct things in an appealing way is definitely a gift. I thought that no part of the movie was melodramatic or overly done which is a major concern in Indian movies. Instead, I thought that there was a lot of promise in this movie just like how there is a promise in every child that has the motivation and faith to achieve something. And the title translated as "Little Stars on Earth" describes all children that are looking for this promise although they may not have everything that most children have. Wow
what an effect this movie had on me
Welcome (2007)
Depends on how you look at it...
What can I say about "Welcome!" ( I added the exclamation mark at the end because it fit so well) other than the fact that it rocked my socks off. It was hilarious, and yes, silly hilarious. Yet I know that it would not have been so entertaining if it weren't for the brilliant actors (Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar were amazing) and pretty good songs. Anyways, it would take a lot of talent to explain the plot to anyone because it's one of those chaotic slapstick comedies that you just have to check out for yourself, and only watch once. But in a nutshell, it is about this really decent man (Paresh Rawal tearing it up as the timid doctor) that would like his decent nephew, Rajiv (Akshay Kumar) to get married. Now comes in the hot Katrina Keif (who cares what her name was?) who, after a medley of hilarious situations, falls in love with Rajiv. There's only one problem with this, her brothers are big shots in the underworld
and are not very modest. "Welcome" is welcoming if you allow yourself to be invited. Don't go watching it with expectations that it will be the cleverest and most sophisticated movie you will see
and when it's not, don't restrict yourself from laughing away to glory
Spider-Man 3 (2007)
A hodge-podge of intense emotion and action sequences
Spiderman 3 would be a better movie if there hadn't been so many things happening at once. Sandman, Green Goblin, Venom and Spiderman's dark side
how many things? In my opinion, they should have toned it down and put some stuff in spiderman-4. My sister ( was disappointed that Venom (arch nemesis) was killed so easily. BUT
Although all of these conflicts seemed overwhelming at times, I felt that this movie was taken in the best way with all of those conflicts. Anyways, Richard Corliss (Time Magazine) accurately commented on how the male characters in this movie were more ahem* sensitive than usual. I daresay that Spiderman cried much more than all the women put together in the movie and at the end his sobbing became so intense that my cousins started laughing. Maybe I am weird, but Peter Parker seemed so emotional and boyish to me that I was happy when he turned into the tough and insensitive guy for a change. Sandman also shed many tears, sinking this movie to an unusual depth. Although I found this male crying thing different, I'm not sure whether it aroused tears or snickers. I guess it's different for everybody and you'll have to decide for yourself
Shrek the Third (2007)
good time pass with a couple of classic scenes....
Many people thought that Shrek's charming dialogue and witty actions were held in abeyance with this sequel. Shrek did not spend enough time being an ogre, but an irresponsible person that can neither take charge of the kingdom nor face fatherhood. Since Shrek wants to desperately leave Fiona's Kingdom and go back to his "vermin-filled shack (the swamp)," he decides to abdicate the thrown to Arthur, a distant relative to the royal family of Far Far Away who is now the acknowledged loser of a medieval high school
But some complications ensue and once again we are introduced to Prince Charming who can barely even pose as an ostensible threat. The terror faced by their kingdom is used to arouse laughter, with strange accidents and weird villains. But I have to say that the funniest part of the movie is when the Frog King dies. Merlin was also hilarious. With that being said, although Shrek the Third is not as good as the previous two movies in the series, it does evoke good laughter. Definitely not a failure.
Definitely, Maybe (2008)
definitely, maybe???
To be very honest, I was intrigued to watch this movie because of its' makers. Not because I checked out the plot or the reviews and thought it would be an entertaining movie. I mean, all of the other movies made by the same guys were hits, even though I saw only one of them
so what could possibly make me not like this one? Well, I was sort of wrong. After watching this movie, I realized that it was not my type. It revolves around a man, Will Hayes (Ryan Reynolds) who is in the middle of divorcing his wife. His daughter, Maya (Abigail Breslin), who apparently has no idea who her mother is, plays a "love mystery" game with her father, who delivers a tale about three love affairs he's had. And out of the three women, she has to guess which one is her mother. The tone of this movie is slow, a bit funny at times, and a bit confusing (I think that was meant to be). To me, Will seemed to be equally interested in all the three women and a bit too wry (I think that was meant to be too). Anyways, I can't set a ground statement upon which you can decide whether you'll like this movie or not , but I do positively feel that college students and adults would like it more than preteens or teens.
Beowulf (2007)
This film is crazy!!!
What a movie. What a combination of violence, extremely loud sounds and odd characters (like Beowulf himself). To most people, it is an amazing recreation of graphics to entertain audiences who like war movies such as Lord of the Rings. To me it is an utter exposure of flamboyant terror (if that makes sense). I don't know whether it was the fact that I was too weak, or the movie was too strong for people my age (15). Even my sister who is four years my senior, was crouching in her chair with her ears covered by her hands. However, when I came home almost dizzy with those overwhelming special effects, I read in time magazine that it is the tenth best movie of the year. I was surprised
but I came to some sort of conclusion. It was not the fact that the movie was too violent or too shameful or a disgrace to society
it was the fact that it was advertised the wrong way. People who liked lord of the rings like myself would not necessarily enjoy this overwhelmingly graphical movie. It should in fact be rated "R" unless a video game freak maybe younger than me who plays games rated "Mature" (and can handle them) wants to see it. What a strange situation this is
Avalon (1990)
Well....Interesting message....
Avalon is not really a movie that I would watch arbitrarily. Rather, it is a film I would like to see when I am in a patriotic or patient mood. It revolves around a traditional Irish family that tries to settle down in America and find promise in it's boundless opportunities. At times it was much too slow and sad, but the ending is extremely moving. The grandfather who may not be very influential on his son, becomes very close to his grandson. One of his favorite stories to tell this adventurous and open minded little boy is how he first came to America in 1914. This movie shows us how important family ties and traditions are, no matter what you do or where you go in life.
Athadu (2005)
oh ho.. mahesh babu
Athadu is about an assassin (Babu) who changes because he realizes the importance of love and family. He gets framed for killing a competitor in a major political election. Therefore, he switches places with Parthu, a decent and friendly man that unfortunately gets murdered on a train. Switching places with Parthu, Nandu starts challenging his own intentions, and not only starts treating Parthu's father as his own, but also falls in love with Poori, a vivacious young woman. What happens when they find out his true identity? Will Nandu get to the bottom of this case and finally get the best of both worlds? Athadu has pretty good special effects and is cleverly taken. It is not my favorite movie but for all Mahesh Babu fans: this is one of his best.
Armaan (2003)
not remarkable...but an interesting take on a tricky situation
The theme of Armaan is something Indian filmmakers might have heard of for a long time, but probably never pitched because of the complexity and unprecedented use of it. Well here goes Honey Irani or should I say the remarkable Honey Irani as she pulls us through a tale of "love, seen as desire and ambition". At least in the eyes of cute and bubbly Sonia Kapoor (Preity Zinta), this holds true. The main guy to be feasted on is Doctor Akash Sinha (Anil Kapoor) who seems like one of those decent and formal types. He takes on after his empathetic father Siddhartha Sinha (Amitabh Bachchan). I find Akash to not be a very convincing doctor because of how he handles his surgeries and how he and his love interest, Neha Mathur are never overworked enough to be doctors. Anyways, the hospital which Siddhartha aspires to build requires a lot of money. Since halfway through the movie Siddhartha dies, Akash is left to pursue his father's unfulfilled ambition. However, he can't afford it. Sonia, noticing this as the perfect opportunity to snatch the man of her dreams agrees to pay the dues, but in return, asks for Akash's love . This is a major problem because Akash is in love with Neha, but he still unwillingly agrees to the proposition. However, Sonia's suspicion and jealousy can never come to a rest, and her messed up psychology leads her to do terrible things. Armaan is quite entertaining, although not perfect.
Anniyan (2005)
Long but good...read at your risk...
One of the best Indian thrillers yet, Aparichitudu succeeds not only in grabbing the audience's attention, but in keeping us thinking as well. It's about a judicious man, Ramu who is fussy about everyone following rules and happens to be the only person noticing the injustice in his corrupt society. No doubt, he is very well educated , disciplined and religious. However, his qualifications and marriage applications (classic) are not enough to pursue Nandini, his love interest who I find terribly non-empathetic. That's right, a man who really cares for her does not seem to impress her. Due to frustration and Nandini's spiteful words, he almost drowns himself. But that's not the end. Another personality, the flamboyant and hip Remo springs into picture and we see Ramu undergo a complete makeover. He blows Nandu's breathe away with his "hot" highlights and "smooth moves". Thankfully, he is not the most catchy and unique thing in this movie. These were the times when I literally wanted to leave the theatre, not that the movie was getting nowhere, but Ramu was being severely tortured by a gang of hunks, and Nandini doesn't take his advice, things are going, well, horribly
Up to the rescue is the amazing but scary personality of Aparichitudu with his hair creepily in front of his face, punishing all those people who did wrong to him and who broke the rules of society, following the way- too dangerous contents of the Garudapuranam and leaving hints behind. Although his ways are ethically questionable, Aparichitudu's personality is the heart of this film. But will Ramu's multi-personality disorder crises be discovered? If so, how does he get cured? How and where did Aparichitudu come from? Under what circumstances will he leave the citizens alone? What happens when Nandini finds out? All these questions are answered in this twisting movie.
Dhoom:2 (2006)
Oh, give me a break
Dhoom 2 is a fast film with many stunts, many dance moves and unfortunately a few problems. I thought that the plot came across as strange and the ending was just not right. It seems more like a leeway to show off Hrithik Roshan and Aishwariya Rai's bodies than an action/detective movie. And with Abhishek B. and Uday Chopra running around in the background treated merely as non-original humor-arousers, Rai and Roshan attract the most attention. Although their ostentatious attraction for each other is sizzling, their feelings in the inside are not worth the watch. It is only confusing. It's like
"I am using you
NO wait I actually love you! Because your gorgeous and a spy
OR not because of that
." Honestly
I saw this movie five months ago and that's the only thing I remember from it. Aishwariya Rai's body is wow but her acting is average, especially when she decides to talk like a western bubblehead. Hrithik Roshan looks good but cannot save the film from it's lameness. The songs are in the same nature of those in Dhoom 1.
Happy Days (2007)
Are you sure about the "happy days" part???????
Another mega hit of 2007. But this time, it's not about the villains, the power or anything else that normal Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi movies have. It is instead in simple words: about college in Andhra Pradesh. It is about ragging, friends, and relationships during college. I think it is a wonderful idea in general to create a movie with good actors who portray life in college as a time which brings about so many new experiences, if they may be good or bad. However, I didn't buy the whole idea that they summed up your "happy days." I mean I think that a person's "happy days" cover a very broad span of memories and experiences throughout a lifetime, but not necessarily in four years of undergraduate college. One really good thing though is that throughout the movie, the characters develop friendship and love for each other that we as an audience learn to care about. And the characters are very different from each other. They're thankfully not a husky gang of macho young men. There's a geek, there's a party animal, there's a studious guy, etc. But what makes it all very fun, is that they're three-dimensional. We see the romance, the partying, the drama, and the education (to a certain extent). So Check out the movie and the songs "Oh my Friend" and "Arey." A pretty good movie.
King Kong (2005)
Great remake that does justice to this poignant, subdued and yet intriguing prospect....
"King Kong" is out of this world. Hybrids of various species from the Mesozoic Era, creepy natives, forbidding black sluggish long beetle-monsters and above all
an ape falling in love with a woman? How unusual right? But this movie is not something to be ignored or scrutinized just by its' concept. It was after all directed by Peter Jackson, whose ability to create a fictional world is paramount. I have noticed this after watching his mega-successful motion picture trilogy: the Lord Of the Rings. What I like about King Kong is that it is very convincing. The relationship between King Kong and Naomi Watts carries quite a heavyweight of emotion. She understands that he's not the big bad beast and he understands that she is as valuable to him as a soul mate. King Kong through his own guerrilla gestures and instincts shows his unique love for her and she, through a series of interesting sequences learns to understand him too, just like how the lady understood another guerrilla in "Mighty Joe Young." The only issue I had with this movie was the fact that it took a long time until we finally got to meet King Kong. We had to get through some boring dialogues and lame sea trekking adventures before that.
Juno (2007)
Is it really THAT charming?????
It does have a witty dialogue, it is unique, but somehow I could neither relate to it nor get really entertained. First of all, Juno seems to be the right teenager to get pregnant. She's strong, high headed, down to earth and convincing. And at the same time she does not always play it safe. Her family is extremely supportive and the boy that she sleeps with is her best friend (sensitive type) that loves her. Also, she manages to find the PERFECT person (Jennifer Garner) to adopt her to-be-child. In all reality, a person is not that lucky. It is ten times worse to be pregnant as a teenager. But then again, Juno is the type of person that seems to have it all and can pull through, even with humor, love and charm in her life. Another important thing is that she is still finding herself and is not sure about her future or her goals. So it wouldn't be a life long scar, discouraging her to be the way she always wanted to be. I am sure that in general people will have a lot more pressure to face when they test positive. Anyways, the background music is so attuned to the main character and the movie's flavor that I was impressed. I am positive that this is not a let-down movie but if you are highly religious and are against the main theme of it, PLEASE don't take your chances and go watch it
Jab We Met (2007)
Not much chemistry so just an okay...
Jab We Met is a movie which is okay but not great. It is with Kareena Kapoor and her former boyfriend Shahid Kapur whom I feel is too short for her as far as chemistry on screen goes. The only person whom Shahid Kapur would not seem odd being paired up with is Amrita Rao. I think the main thing which is missing in this movie is chemistry between the actors. Anyways, Jab We Met is a fairly odd movie which centers around the meeting of two people, Aditya (Kapur) and Geet (Kapoor). Aditya who seems to be going through a tremulous private and professional life aimlessly boards a train and meets a bubbly blabbermouth (Geet) whom he eventually gets stranded with. Aditya unknowingly falls in love with Geet through the entire process of getting her back to Punjab so that she can meet her family, then go to Kashmir to elope with this guy whom she thought she loved. However, Geet's family is under the misconception that she is getting married to Aditya when she actually wants to get married to Anshuman (elope-guy). There are some funny moments in Jab We Met, like when they meet Geet's Punjabi grandfather, or when Anshuman ends up meeting Geet's family for the first time. Kareena Kapoor overacted a bit, but it is still a movie to check out if you like any of the actors.
I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007)
I now pronounce this film "Stupid" and "Annoying"
"I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry" is not a great movie AT ALL. In fact, I thought it was quite stupid. It touches upon a sensitive subject such as homosexuality and uses it as a source of hilarity. I don't think any gay person would appreciate the nonsensical matter in this movie. As far as the acting goes
they did a pretty good job. I think it is just the fact that I am more conservative and not a great fan of crude humor (especially ones that don't make sense) that I didn't like it. Like Beowulf, I think this movie should in fact be rated "R" because of the many obscenities. I would like to comment on one scene when Chuck (Adam Sandler) is walking through the grocery store and sees all these lame things and puts them in the shopping cart muttering to himself: "this is so gay." Talk about double meanings. Also, the lawyer that Chuck develops a love relationship with at the end is either really really really really liberal or out of her MIND. So if you watch it at all please don't take it personally or seriously and just laugh a bit and then forget all about what you saw or heard.
High School Musical 2 (2007)
As lame and boring as the first one...
High School Musical is one of a kind. But I don't like it. It is too pompous and cheesy. Heck, even Zac Effron (according to the time magazine) couldn't sit through the first half
None of my friends who are teens think it's "Cool Cat material", except one who doesn't seem to criticize anything. With that being said, it remains a mystery to me why this movie was enacted by teens and called "high school musical." Why not "preteen musical?" Anyways, HMS 2 goes on its' usual boring track with the saddest problem being that Troy misses two dates with Gabriella and they have to break up. Other then that truly devastating thing, Troy has gotten an opportunity to get a scholarship for college through his athletic involvement, but while mingling with experts, getting the opportunity to wear cool shoes and wearing new clothes, he doesn't spend "enough" time with his high school basketball friends who have taken singing and dancing as a full time job. And that's all they ever really did since the end of the last movie. I could see no change in Troy's personality other than the fact that he was flattered by all the attention, and that irritated his friends. If I were him, I would forget the singing thing, but Troy, being the "good guy he is" decides to "change" and get back Gabriella while jumping around on a golf course redundantly singing "bet on it, bet on it, bet on it, bet on it
" After that, I stopped watching
Schindler's List (1993)
A gritty and moving picture
Schindler's List should be a punishment: a chastisement for not reading your textbooks properly about the Holocaust: a horrible genocide in which more than 6 million Jews were killed: an immense population. It gives us a very visual outlook of the inhumanity which was faced in the concentration camps. Taken like a documentary with black and white photography, Schindler's List is scary because it is real. There is also this chilling background music composition mixing Jewish hymns (very, very solemn) and another sad score by John Williams. I watched this in my history class in case you were wondering. So, should you watch this movie? I am not recommending it to high school students who've already read "Night" or learned in depth about the process of Hitler's "Final Solution" unless they find it interesting. In fact, I think "Life is Beautiful" is a more uplifting movie to watch in order to heal our sorrow after reading about Auschwitz and all those treacherous Jewish ghettos. Oh yeah, the actors in Schindler's List were brilliant: very convincing. The setting was brilliant. The ending was in my opinion the best part of the movie, so if you start watching it, don't stop during the middle because of the atrocities.
Iron Man (2008)
fun, fun and fun
Iron Man is a movie of CGI and action. It is entertaining, interesting and to a certain degree, like Batman (except better taken). It's about a rich man , Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) who owns a company that sells weapons used by the USA military. Now, one day, after realizing that Asian terrorists are using his weapons to kill and harass other innocents, he decides to stop making weapons and builds himself a suit, designed to be bullet-proof, emit fire, and send bullets flying through the air. Oh, and it can enable its' user to fly, blasting off like a rocket from the ground. In other words, he decides to become "Iron Man." Now he's going to use this to "make sure the bad guys don't step out of their cave." Tony Stark designs his own stuff, like Bruce Wayne, and has that air of maturity and sophistication. He's just a bit more funny, chill and less arrogant. Anyways, this movie is a cross between James Bond and Batman, with some iron fun. So watch it if you liked those movies, then you will definitely enjoy it.
