Bleach: Burîchu (2018)
Bad
I've been a huge fan of og Bleach anime since it began airing. However, The film feels like a lame summary of several episodes.
Production was mediocre to okay. Casting could have been much better but the acting was okay overall. The writing needed to be better; a lot better. The story was the biggest disappointment for me. It just didn't feel right. It was a struggle for me shortly after I started it and grueling to continue watching after about thirty minutes or so.
Bleach could have had great live action films unlike most but unfortunately it does not live up to expectations.
I don't recommend this to anyone.
Shikkaku-mon no saikyô kenja (2022)
Interesting world and characters
The writer did excellent work creating the world and main characters. However, the story really needed much more depth. If more time was spent developing the depth I could easily see giving this a 9.5 rating. I really liked the idea of this series and found it interesting but always thought the dialog and interactions were mostly shallow and wanting as if it were a children's fairytale. After saying that to everyone reading this... I still would like to see more.
Violet Evergarden (2018)
Amazing series including film
I began watching expecting i would probably drop it in a few episodes. However, I binged everything. I have never said this for an animated series but it truly deserves to be live action with high budget, elite actors, production team, and staff. There may be a few i would like to see produced as live action but this one really deserves it. What more can one say to give higher recognition and praise? I loved it.
Aquaman (2018)
Favorite DC film in years
Aquaman is easily my favorite DC film in at least a decade. I haven't really enjoyed a movie from DC in a very long time with the exception of this film. Momoa doesn't really fit the look of Aquaman but otherwise an outstanding choice for the role and an excellent performance. The story made sense and had enough detail that anyone should be able to follow along without confusion. Great action and cgi. I think they could have done a little better with the soundtrack at times but no real complaints. It just lacked an epic John Williams piece :)
