La mif (2021)
Powerful performances and master storytelling
Fred Baillif creates a very real piece out of fiction by his mastery of storytelling, introducing topics and experiences in just the right sequence and perspective to take you on a compelling journey questioning right and wrong. The rawness of the filming and acting draws you in and takes you on an emotional ride as you get to know La Mif (French slang for 'the family'). Refreshingly not a Hollywood blockbuster, rather a film that makes you feel and think.
Help (2021)
Powerful
Jodie Comer and Stephen Graham give master performances in a story that is powerful and emotional. Jodie's pure acting skills shine as the only accent she has to do is her own.
Vigil (2021)
Enjoy the ride and don't get hung up on accuracies
One of the better made series I've seen in a while. Plot twists I had no idea were coming, great acting and the way they built suspense and tension had me on the edge. Very enjoyable watch.
Sarangeui bulsachak (2019)
Funny, warm, endearing love story with a little cheese
This series starts out a little cheesy and superficial setting the scene in the beginning, but once the 2 lead characters meet and the real story starts, it's hard to stop watching. The series is filled with compelling characters that provide a lot of complimentary storylines and comic relief. The chemistry of the 2 leads will suck you in and having you on a roller coaster of emotions following their beautiful story. It might be a little cheesy at times, but it's a quality production that lets you enjoy looking at life through a rosy Korean lens.
