Seems like people didn't give this show much of a chance considering how many 1-3 star reviews popped up after just the first episode or two. Yes it's not R&M or Community but damn people at least wait until after the first few episodes to leave such bad reviews.

Really this show is in the 5-7~ range IMO, parts are good and parts are bad but it does have its moments. If you like Greek mythology and goofy comedy it's entertaining at least, the setting is interesting and the style of humor does seem a bit more like Community than R&M though it shares themes with both like dysfunctional family dynamics.

Seems like the kind of show that will improve over the first couple seasons as it spends more time world building and building up the character dynamics. Wasn't sure about it during the first few episodes but it does improve and going in blind helped, if you have high expectations you'll probably be disappointed but it seems like a lot of people are being overly harsh due to it not being Rick and Morty 2.0.

Hopefully it gets another season or two and a chance to improve.

Very epic & relevant sci fi
16 October 2023
I slept on this show when it first came out in part as it was only 8 episodes, but with 45 minute episodes it covers a surprising amount of ground while also not rushing the story. It's a bit of a slow burn at first but after a few episodes the twists start coming left and right and more characters are introduced as the story picks up pace. It's hard to overstate both how crazy and relevant it gets. Despite being cute/cartoony on the surface the show gets surprisingly dark at times.

And the new season really upped the ante with the crazy concepts, it might be too much for some people both the scifi elements and how dark parts are but it really is some top notch inspiring storytelling. Also while the animation can be simple at times (characters/faces mainly) parts are really incredible and there's a lot of unique/creative depictions of tech.

Beautifully abstract and thought provoking

This is a series people will either love or hate, it's very abstract and minimalist in many ways but touches on many interesting subjects. In many ways it was incredibly prophetic about how the Internet would impact society, and with tech like VR emerging it will likely only get more relevant over time.

They took a lot of unique artistic choices with the art style and story and it's understandable they wouldn't appeal to everyone. But if you get into it the show takes you on an amazing ride that is uniquely trippy and artistic and daringly abstract and ahead of it's time.
