Harry & Meghan (2022)
Mehh..
I'm mean, I just don't understand this documentary? They decided they were going to tell "their story," no one else. Though, everyone of their answers seems irritability vague, throwing daggers of 'hints' as to what they are talking about. Without saying much of anything (anything new), it's coming out real cringe and awkward. Their stories don't always flow cohesively, a few plot-holes to say the least.
This episode, omg I must say the suspense was killing me during the wedding. Me, anticipating a gunshot to pop-off at any second, it was too slow for me. I be forgetting we not in America anymore.
I kind of feel like this documentary has tarnished my initial impression of 'H & M'. Please stop with cheesy action-movie 'code-names', we can all hear you.
The Sandman (2022)
Raven
Patton Oswalt as Raven Matthew? Terrible choice, really took me out of the story. Like the show was trying to appeal to children, this is not a show for kids. I found him more cringe than funny.
The Wheel of Time (2021)
Yikes. How about...
You simply follow the books, your ideas are not working. More than 80% of the show is made up, you've clearly bit off more than you can chew. Eight episodes is not enough, probably shouldn't have tried to cover so much material with limited amount of time. I'd say they should have ended season one with the crew arriving at Tar Valon.
The optimistic individuals keeps suggesting the show will cover the unanswered questions in season two. Really?! They'll probably put out another eight episodes, when will they have time to answers questions from season one? Most likely they're going to create more unanswered questions, and rely on book readers to explain the lore, again.
However, I actually enjoyed the X-Ray bonus clips more than the show, has much more potential than the series.
The Witcher (2019)
Where's the immersion?
The story is difficult to follow, the acting is up and down, and the editing and dialogue has zero fluidity. My mind keeps drifting off, it's not captivating in anyway. I have not read the books, and I cannot make sense of this magic system. It seems like anything goes, with no set of rules (be as outrageous as possible). This maybe should have never been adapted, it's makes more sense as a video game. It's like the creators is counting on Geralts charm to carry the show.
Arcane: League of Legends: The Base Violence Necessary for Change (2021)
"She's not my sister anymore" ?? Umm ok.
The ending made zero sense, she's done with Vi just like that? It's too drastic of a switch, especially with all that just happened. She hugs the guy who's responsible for all that happened tonight too!? If it's a charade to save herself then I can get onboard, but I don't think it is. This definitely pulled me out of the story, seems lazy and inauthentic. Just to get the characters to their inevitable destination quickly. - this has happened a couple other times, but not as severe. However, overall I am enjoying this show.
The Handmaid's Tale: Home (2021)
Another fail.
What competent government would put a refugee in a private room alone with their years long "captive" immediately after arriving?! Simply to have a chat, so a mentally unstable individual can have another mental break. It's astounding how they waste 42 minutes of nonsense with a hopeful 2 minute redemption scene. It never lands, the pacing is all over the place, and ends up no where believable.
Initially, what made this show so intriguing was comparing it to the real world USA. Envisioning the future becoming a Gilead, and especially, in the current political climate. It was easy to empathize with the characters and keep watching to find out how far they get. I don't what happen, new writers or what, now it feels like a money grab and nothing else.
The Handmaid's Tale: Vows (2021)
Writers: Umm if you say so.
The writers are insulting the audiences intelligence at this point. Where's the story; I don't see it it. Janine disappears in an instant, but hey! There's Moira.
The time jump doesn't land at all.
Ridiculousness, shockingly stupid.
Just skip to the final two minutes, everything else is the same flip-floppy fluff.
Black Clover (2017)
Black Clovers ratings don't make sense
The troupes are evident, but still has the potential to be decent. However, the final product is absurd, I cannot sus-out the age group this show is prescribed for. The protagonist(s) twin brothers are painfully unlikable one is simply jealous, and the other is frequently hysterical. They were more enjoyable when they were younger in the flashback scenes. I understand they are 15, and what where the creators were going with it, but it doesn't land for me.
All of the Black Bull characters are sneeringly cringe (especially the dude in love with his sister), everything is overdone as if the audience are idiots. Constantly reminding us who each character is; we get it! There is not a single character that I enjoy.
Im only on episode 15, I have no idea what the immediate plot is aside from the twins wanting to become the Wizard King, but that seems to be in the distant future. The shows pacing has proved and I suspect to be a lot of meandering, unknown of its direction.
Lastly, the artistic decision to shade under the jawline using lines is horrendous. Everyone's neck is each character focal point, it's jarring and distracting.
I've seen reviews saying it's get better after episode 90, and/or 160, again absurd if you expect me to sit through that many episodes.
Kono subarashii sekai ni shukufuku o! (2016)
Mehh disappointed.
I like the concept, but the final product doesn't land it for me. Unlikable protagonist, they're too over the top with everything, including the corniness, and facial expressions (completely unattractive btw). I probably would've watched more episodes had they toned it down.
