The Conspiracy of Dark Falls (2022)
A bunch of 12 year olds could do better
This movie was recommended to me by Prime for some bizarre reason. The acting is really wooden and I'm sure a bunch of school children could do better. The plot is based around something strange happening at Darks Falls in the UK. The main character splits up with his fiancee and then talk with his publisher / friend about it. He is an author an is struggling to write his book because of slitting up with his fiancee. He walks into a pub at Dark Falls and everyone looks at him strangely. This is obviously a rip-off from a scene in American Werewolf in London. I could not get immersed in the film and kept on feeling it was a bunch of kids trying to may their first film to impress their parents. The sad thing was that they were grown adults! I was hoping that it was going to be some exciting alien movie but was sorely dissapointed. I could only get 28.01 into this film and then stopped it otherwhise I might have shot myself in the head to put myself out of my misery.
Da qin fu (2020)
Excellent Drama
This drama is certainly an epic with over 70 episodes each lasting 45 minutes. After visiting the Terracotta Army in China this month, I wanted to learn more about the Qin dynasty. It covers the unification of China under the first emperor, Ying Zheng. He is buried in the mausoleum, surrounded on 4 sides by 4 armies (only 1 has been excavated so far). The mausoleum of the first emperor, Ying Zheng is said to have rivers of mercury with booby traps using crossbows. So, this got me interested in the Yin Dynasty and this epic. The visual quality of this drama is very high and the acting is superb. The plot is complicated with lots of palace intrigue between the 7 warring states: - Yin, Zhao, Han, Wei, Chu, Chi and Yan. I particularly liked the military strategy aspect and the ebb and flow of power between the different states. You'll need a lot of time to watch all the episodes. Fortunately, I had time because I was on holiday in China for 2 months.
ETs Among Us: UFO Witnesses and Whistleblowers (2016)
Lot of Hearsay
The film is full of people giving a lot of hearsay without and facts to back up their claims. I am always suspicious about people that have written books about UFOs because they have a vested interest. Most of the speakers are authors of books (surprise, surprise). Most of the video and film footage could easily be faked. Showing crop circles is ridiculous as this has been proven to be fake.
The most interesting part was the film footage of the Roswell incident because at least it is attempting to provide some evidence. It would be really exciting if intelligent ETs existed so that we could learn so much from them.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Really Enjoying this Series
A few months later after reading the LOTR, Silmarillion & Unfinished Tales of Numenor and Middle-Earth I have dowgraded my rating for this series because it was very badly scripted and not true to the Tolkien books. My original and foolishly optimistic review was as follows:- I have read the Lord of the Rings books and watched all of the films so I am a big fan. It's great to be able to carry on enjoying the fantasy thanks to Amazon. The special effects are really good and the island of Numenor looks stunning. There are a number of sub plots going on in parallel which keeps things interesting. Women are given a more dominant role and there are more ethnic groups which I like. The Harfoots being the most common race of hobbit are loveable characters. The mystery visitor with them is intriguing and leaving everyone guessing. The dwarves characters are good. The humans seem insecure and divided. The elven characters Elrond and Galadriel are very poor. There is a mystery about who the leader of the orcs (Adar) is. Is it Sauron? Maybe not. Is Sauron hidden amongst the existing characters or yet to appear?
Rise of the Footsoldier: Origins (2021)
I Enjoyed It
Although it is a very violent film with a lot of swearing I enjoyed this film. Although the characters are old, they are good actors. The plot has enough twists and turns to keep it entertaining.
Left Behind (2014)
Bible Bashing Rubbish
1stly Nicolas Cage is an irritating person.
2ndly this film punishes people who aren't Christians.
3rdly it denounces Muslims.
What more can I say about this awful film!
V for Vendetta (2005)
The Real or Dystopian UK?
Finally got around to watching this film about a dystopian UK.
It talks about a virus created by a government. People living in fear. A media lying to the public.
Wait, is this the real UK ?
Independence Day: Resurgence (2016)
