Expend4bles (2023)
10/10
The best part Expendables (and Megan Fox rulez!!!)
1 October 2023
Don 't trust those sad critics and naysayers, Expendables 4 aka Exepd4bles is pure fun in the good old classic way.

It's totally politically incorrect (that's why it's under the fire of critics), it has great performances form the actors and very clever action scenes.

What differs this part from the previous ones is - the creators finally know and appreciate what kind of movie they are making.

You want wild jokes? You got it here! You want Megan Fox to be super sexy and charming and beautiful You've got it. You want over-the-top action? Checked! No holds barred this a cinematic fun.

This film has a lot of heart in it. It doesn't take itself seriously and thanks to it it's a big win.

The cast is a perfect blend: old school with Statham,l Lundgren, Couture and Stallone plus new blood Fox, 50 Cents, Ja. Special kudos goes to Megan Fox who really shines here, She;s got big on-screen charisma, she's beautiful and sexy.,,, and despite she plays a tough chic here - she smiles a lot in this movie (and what a smile it is).

Add to this Andy Garcia - as good as always and you got a prefect popcorn flick.

Highly recommended...Go see it!

Boring, generic sequel.
1 October 2023
This is a very forced sequel made just to grab some more cash from the audience. The actions scenes are on a tv show level and the plot is predictable. It looks cheap and undeveloped. The overall quality is belowe "streaming service premiere" quality. Even regarding cinematography - it's grainy, it's shaky, it's random. The cast sleepwalks through the whole movie. It's a pity that such a talented actor like Denzel Washington is in this movie. His career went south, I rewatched the original Equalizer and it was so much better. Big dissapointment and waste of cinema screen. Should go staright to tv.

Secrets of Playboy (2022–2023)
1/10
Primitive attempt to capitalize on dishing the dirt on Hugh Hefner
26 March 2022
Bad taste galore. The disgusting dance on the grave of Playboy's Founder. This pseudo-documentary series is extremely one-sided , shallow and stupid to the point of total nonsense. In the first 15 minutes of the first episode we can hear that "There was a fountain in Playboy Mansion. The statue in the middle of that fountain depicted a child MOLESTING a dolphin" (of course in reality this was a child holding a dolphin). Later the makers of this series mostly re-use OLD and ALREADY KNOWN materials published by haters of Hefner and Playboy. The sad irony is... most of these haters are known to the world thanks to HH and without him would be no-names. Plus this series is extremely booooring with a lot of "empty footage" (for instance the director/camerman is obsessed with a little dog, which belong to one of the accusers) and randomly picked stock footage of Playboy/Hefner.

Fiancé Killer (2018 TV Movie)
6/10
Kari Wuhrer's superb performance highlights an ok film.
8 May 2018
Beautiful businesswoman is shocked when her daughter returns from a vacation in Mexico engaged to a mysterious handsome young man. The mother suspects that the soon-to-be-groom is a fraud who is after money of her daughter...And actually it is the truth. Morover the fiance has a secret psycho girlfriend and together they're planning to kill the poor daughter right after the honeymoon...

FIANCE KILLER is a typical Lifetime movie, with a simple and predictable plot-line (the twist is so obvious it's not really a twist), and very tv-ish production values. The director does a passable job with the budget he has. The camera work is very basic with wash-out colors and almost no movement. The background music is next to zero. The young actors who play the (not so)evil soon-to-be-husband, the naive soon-to-be-bride and the evil crazy girlfriend are OK.

However there's one thing that makes this film better than other Lifetime movies.

It is the performance of Kari Wuhrer. Wuhrer was a class act for her entire career. Some people haven't been noticing her talent blinded by her beauty (she was one of the hottest girls on the screen in the late nineties).

Nowadays she still is a very sexy woman (she wears some very provocative dresses throughout the movie, twp thumbs up) and still has a BIG talent. Wuhrer's tremendous gifts, her enormous range, her vocal and physical craft, her peerless skills at conveying complexity, show in the role of the mother driven by the endless love to her YA daughter.

It's a pity that Wuhrer so rarely appears on the screen these days (only three big roles in the last five years).

Anyway the amount of thought and effort that Wuhrer puts into her performance is something that makes this film special. See it when you have a chance!

Great performance by Pamela Anderson!
20 September 2016
The People Garden is a movie with a strange, dark vibe. The atmosphere is spooky and it keeps you guessing until the end. Hovever it would be just another solid, Lynch-inspired mystery drama, without the truly excellent performance by Pamela Anderson. She really makes a difference here: still super beautiful and sexy (look for the beautiful nude scene *Thank You, Pam!*) she appears like a dark, mysterious goddess, a Fallen Muse, someone from the realm between reality a fantasy. Think "women-icons" from Felilni's masterpieces. Every scene with Pamela is magical.

A must see film for all Anderson's fans, but also for the haters. She's created a complex, super interesting character in The People Garden. An Oscar-worthy performance!

Mr. BIG and Kari Wuhrer!
5 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The long wait is over: SECRETS OF A PSYCHOPATH - the new film from the acclaimed director Bert I. Gordon is here. Bert I. Gordon also known as Mr. BIG brought us such classics like THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN, EARTH VS. THE SPIDER, THE FOOD OF THE GODS and EMPIRE OF THE ANTS.

The story goes like this: Henry (Mark Famiglietti) and Katherine (Kari Wurhrer) are a loving brother and sister who live in their large old family home. But they are not your typical brother and sister. They are couple of psychos, who kill young women in order to to try to „heal" Henry's sexual disjunctions.

SECRETS OF A PSYCHOPATH is a spellbinding psychological thriller. Yes, its a low budget, indie film, and yes it has some flaws here and there, but overall it is a great movie you should not miss. Bert I. Gordon still got „it". His directing is very stylish, fluid and confident. Mr. BIG is a great storyteller - he creates the suspense in the movie through cleverly chosen shots (the house of the siblings becomes almost an independent character in this film!), inventive camera angles and wonderful, moody music by Scott Glasgow. Contributing greatly to the film's success are a solid screenplay by Mr. BIG himself, warmly handsome photography by Brett A. Hart .

SECRETS OF A PSYCHOPATH gives us chance to take a look inside the mind of the serial killer, learn what makes him tick. You can find some interesting echos of the classic Hitchcook' PSYCHO but the idea is to see the world through the eyes of a madman. As in every good thriller there is a twist at the end but obviously I want spoil it here. You have to find out for yourself what the titular secrets are.

But to save the best for last, the acting is terrific, with a standout performance by Kari Wuhrer as the film's Catherine - a complex and powerful character, the real tour de force of this story. Driven mad by sick love to her brother Catherine is a an evil, yet tragic person. Wuhrer commands attention whenever she's on the screen. She crafts her role very well with many layers and nuances. She's beautiful, sexual and deadly, but at the same time totally unstable and crazy. Without any doubt this is a triumphant return of the actress who unfortunately was rarely seen on the screen in the last few years. Oh and there's a special treat for the fans: Catherine's „I'm the emergency" on-liner gets a super cool meaning thanks to Kari. You'all understand when you see the film, here let me just say that Kari still is a „Perfect Ten"! Kudos to You, Miss Wuhrer.

All to all if you like good psychological thrillers, with a high suspense and great performances, you should definitely see SECRETS OF A PSYCHOPATH. And one more thing: I can't wait for the next film from Mr.BIG!
