Severance (2022)
Unconventional and riveting
Love the colors and the mood. The story line is unique; takes you away from the usual crime, fiction shows and dramedies. Cannot imagine better actors for the few characters. It's a GEM.
Insecure: The End (2021)
Lovely behind the scenes
Really great doc, very telling about the struggles, team, process, crew; I could not have imagined that so many writers & directors worked on the show, which translated into amazing and consistently worthy episodes; the music in the show could have also been credited, the selections were sooo good, really setting the mood, I discovered plenty amazing tunes while watching the show.
Insecure (2016)
10 is not enough starts
Interesting, witty, intelligent, uncomfortable, real, topical, this show is many many things. The setting, places, colors, light, camera angles, music are just sooo chill. I catch myself dancing along, grinning and just feeling incredibly cozy watching this show. Can't wait to see what's next.
Dying Young (1991)
Predictable romance
The plot was told a million times - the rich hires an unqualified attractive woman etc etc but the scenes and how the movie was put together just made me cringe again and again, Victor's behavior was unbearable and dodgy.
A Case of Blue (2020)
A dissapointing story
A very cheesy and far from reality story
the old painter and his young muse
the movie is recent which makes this plot even more disturbing and passe
finally, must be a bad sign to have awards icons on the movie poster.
Maid (2021)
Good show but not without slip ups
The show is interesting to watch and informative about DV, I liked that it attempted to present metaphorically how Alex felt (the underground vortex);
the plot did not make sense sometimes (Alex needs residency in Fisher Island to present at the daycare, then rents housing from a landlord that keeps the renting "under the table", not sure how this would have worked out for the day care; Alex needs to take ferries to go to Fisher Island, this is often cumbersome and limiting, but apparently not a problem for Regina to come by car from Fisher Island when Alex called her in the middle of the night ... etc etc )
Nine Perfect Strangers (2021)
If faking the accent is not realistic - better to drop it
The Russian accent makes me cringe; the story is reasonably mysterious and watchable (at the same time some scenes are overly long and too cheesy to be interesting, but perhaps that was not the aim to begin with).
Veep (2012)
Brilliant
Started to binge it back in 2019; the show is so amazing and absolutely hilarious that I'm re-watching it now in 2021 - is as good as I recall!
I wish someone would do a show like this about the European Union, the possibilities with this topic are endless. But perhaps the humor would be too dry for it to be a success as the Thick of it and Veep? Hope someone will pick up the challenge (during my lifetime please)!
Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2021)
Silly
It's super silly, the plot, the sgi, aviation product placement, the dialogues.
This Way Up (2019)
Lovely series
It's original, funny and real. The themes are topical, there is some sort of truth in the scenes, everything is natural, the sisters are simply gorgeous with such amazing chemistry and connection.
Crashing (2016)
Love it!
Really really hope another season will be on its way
it's fresh, hilarious, also honest and genuine.
Black Widow (2021)
Incoherent
As long as you don't really try to follow the plot, it is rather watchable and entertaining.
High Maintenance (2016)
Short episodes
Love the diversity of characters and stories, some are more interesting than others; many awkward settings also, makes you cringe & laugh; few grim situations with drug abuse were also presented, still much more is needed to bring balance in presenting the good and the bad.
Grand Designs (1999)
Love it
Absolutely love this show, and it is such a bummer that season 21 has only 5 episodes.
Girls: Latching (2017)
Disconnect
Although I do not mind the melancholy and the struggle, it is mega weird that first Adam plunges himself in growing the baby with Hannah and marrying her, then he is completely out of the picture... along with Jessa, and with Shoosh... not only the ending is anticlimactic but it just does not make much sense; this season seemed all in all built on topics that were trending at the time, and not so much about the pack of friends; in previous seasons they were all there, all in every episode, and now they come and go but their contribution to the story line was bringing so much dynamic to the show.
