The Curse of Bridge Hollow (2022)

A great Halloween kids film!

I really can't believe all of these bad ratings. This was a great kids Halloween film and it was actually scary in parts and I'm an adult. There were some laugh out loud scenes as well as good special effects and jumps. It is an all around entertaining family film. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Marlon Wayans was great in the lead and had great chemistry with the actress who plays his daughter and of course his wife. Scenes with spiders and clowns literally were creepy. I jumped in several parts and was surprised by that given it is a children's film. Those who are bashing it need to lighten up. What did you expect....an Oscar worthy film?

While not Argento's best work, it is arguably much better than some of his more recent films. I agree with another reviewer that it is character driven and I appreciated that. It made me root for the lady and child as they attempt to get away from a maniac. It was very entertaining with good cinematography and a great soundtrack. The music reminded me of his earlier work and something that Goblin might put out (in parts). The only thing I did not like was that the killer was physically seen about midway through so that diminished some of these suspense. If they had kept the killer's identity withheld until the end it would have been much better. Having said that I just watched Halloween Ends last night and I will take this any day over that, despite any flaws. I'm glad to see Argento working and I hope he makes more even with his older age.

A boring sneeze fest of a horror film

I'm very understanding when filmmakers want to do something different but this was a complete 180 to what we have come to know and love about Halloween. It was extremely boring and not scary whatsoever. I could not wait for it to end. It had such a different feel than any of the other films in the series. I was really looking forward to more scenes with Lindsey Wallace but that did not happen at all. In fact the previous film had more screen time for her. Jamie Lee Curtis did a decent job as usual but even she could not save this mess of the film. I was so bored I was shopping on Amazon lol. By far the worst in the series and a huge disappointment.

The Munsters (2022)

Okay so I understand the negative reviews. It was pretty cheesy and dumb and the script was lacking. If you compare it to the original you will be very disappointed. Still I was somewhat entertained and got a few laughs out of it. The acting wasn't great but I did think the lead actor who played Herman was pretty good. I got the most laughs from him. The actress who played Lily left a lot to be desired and Grandpa was meh. The sets were kind of cool and it got me in the Halloween spirit. I will agree that the use of green lighting was overkill. Would I see it again? No. But it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be based on all of the terrible reviews. So I am split down the middle on this. It could have been much better but it also could have been worse in my opinion.

Horror in the High Desert (2021)

I fell for it!

In hindsight I feel really stupid but I'm a huge fan of true crime. I came across this and thought it was a real documentary. It had me glued to my seat the whole time and it seemed so real. That really is a compliment to the director and acting that you totally had me fooled in believing it was real. It was only when I paused to take a break and saw the character's names and it had an actor next to it. Then of course I came to IMDb to find out lo and behold that it is a mockumentary. Again I feel really embarrassed but it was a job well done. Very believable acting and I'm very happy that it's not true because I felt sorry for Gary.

The Chelsea Detective (2022– )

It's growing on me

I have watched three episodes so far and I will say that it is growing on me. I like the first one and then the second one I was on the fence but the third one got my interest again. I think I like the characters the best and even though the dialogue in parts is not realistic it is engaging and keeps my interest. I also like the photography and getting to see parts of London. It kind of takes me there. I would say it is a solid show and hopefully it will get better with even more character to development.

Snake Eyes (2021)

Loved every second

To be honest I do not know much about GI Joe and never watched as a kid. However I love Japanese culture and was blown away by the photography. From the opening scene I knew I would like it and it did not disappoint. Pure action and escapism. I cannot compare to anything else. I am only judging it as a standalone movie. Very entertaining.

Pieces of Her (2022)

Interesting but drawn out

This was a series that had good acting and was interesting at the beginning and had elements of greatness but was drawn out by at least a few episodes. I started to lose interest by episode 6 and was ready for it to end. And then when I thought it would end it had another half an hour left lol. I think it could have been done in half the time.

Seance (I) (2021)

I actually liked this movie. The acting was not that bad by the girls and there were some very good kill scenes towards the end. It definitely went in a direction I was not expecting. Just for the unpredictability I give it a seven star.

I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did. I thought it was beautifully shot and well acted. It has been years since I have seen the original so I actually forgot who the murderer was. That made it more interesting for me than Murder on the Orient Express where I knew who was involved. That kind of spoiled it for me. So I was kept guessing and liked pretty much everything about it. I especially loved seeing French and Saunders in dramatic roles. They were quite good. I also thought Annette Bening did a great job too. I'm glad I saw it and hope he makes more.

Fistful of Vengeance (2022)

I found this to be entertaining and I love the photography. It was a good action movie and while not Earth shattering or likely to win any awards, it was not as bad as many people in here are claiming. Though not the best acting or script, when does an action movie need that to be entertaining?

Tyler Perry's A Madea Homecoming (2022)

I always get a kick out of Madea movies. Of course it's silly and over the top but it is entertaining and makes me laugh. For that I give it an 8. I'm glad Tyler Perry decided to bring her back. Right now the world needs a little bit of mindless entertainment and laughter.

The Real Housewives of Miami (2011–2024)

Never saw the original seasons but I like this reboot.

I see this got a lot of bad ratings but I actually found it entertaining. It is different than the other housewives franchises I think. There isn't as much drama though there is definitely some. For some reason their friendships seem more genuine and real. I hope it gets picked up for another season.

Marry Me (2022)

That sums up this movie. Contrived, sappy and makes me want to not get married. I threw up a little bit when watching. Oh and I give them a year before they divorce. Maybe that's the sequel "Divorce Me" lol.

Of course the original is the best, but I also really like the second one. This I think is better than the third one but not as good as the first two. It all comes down to preference but this one had more scares to me than #3. However the killer though surprising wasn't very believable with motive. It was definitely entertaining.

Omg! So human hunters give you 15 minutes to get a head start before they kill you and you decide to run for minute or two and then just stop and have a conversation about why this is happening? Yeah that's not very smart. I couldn't even finish watching it but the three American idiots deserve to die in my book.

I have really needed a good laugh lately with all of the negativity in this world. I have always liked the actors in Reno 911 and while this is slapstick and super dumb, it did make me laugh. Does it have bathroom humor? Yes it does. If you arent into dumb, raunchy comedy then I would walk away. It isn't as good as the series but it is still nice seeing the gang together again.

I actually found myself laughing out loud during several parts of this movie. I didn't really expect all that much but I love Rachel Dratch and Ana Gasteyer. They did not disappoint and the film apart from funny was actually heartwarming and a great holiday film. I also really loved the cameo by Maya Rudolph. So funny! I'm very glad I saw.

I actually had low expectations going into this. Admittedly I wanted to see Kyle Richards because I am a fan. She had such a small part in Halloween Kills and I wanted to see her carry a movie. I thought she did very well and the movie was exactly what one would expect. Was it corny, predictable, and syrupy sweet? Yes it was. But it was very entertaining and I actually liked it. It was just a fun light-hearted movie for the family.

So of course a Nazi German Mercedes buried in a bunker for 80 years cranks right up and they are able to drive away. Of course the gas is still there after 80 years lol. My battery died after not starting for a month. There are some things I am willing to overlook but this movie has so many completely absurd scenes that it is hard to give it anything more than a five. It had some action and the banter between the two stars was amusing at times. But I will take Indiana Jones any day over this.

I must admit I went into this with low expectations but I found myself binging this series. It was definitely suspenseful and I jumped in parts. It was definitely a teen oriented show but I tend to like those sometimes. The lead actresses were very good. If you like an edge of your seat thriller I think this fits the bill. I haven't finished the season so I am just going on what I have seen thus far. I will likely finish this series.

Army of Thieves (2021)

Very entertaining film

First off I am not comparing this to Army of the Dead as I did not see much of that one at all. So even though this is a prequel it stands alone on its own and I thought it was very entertaining. The lead is fantastic and I thought the production values were excellent, it was funny in parts, and the pace was great. I think people are being too harsh on this movie. Granted it is a heist movie but an entertaining one at that.

Okay so this isn't a masterpiece, but I found it entertaining and it kept me engaged. You cannot compare it to the movie because it is very different. Nonetheless it is interesting with good acting by the lead actress. It is a typical teen series. Of course they do stupid things because that's what teens do lol. People are being way too harsh. I have seen a lot worse!

So Dumb But Addicting

So I started watching this show and thought it was so ridiculous and didn't plan on watching more than the first episode. However the more I watched it the more I was glued to it. It is so dumb but it makes me laugh especially when they go into the woods. The kills are hilarious and the music cracks me up as well. It definitely has an '80s slash survive and is very entertaining.

Halloween Kills (2021)

Not the best but not the worst.

First off I can understand why some people gave it much lower ratings. The script wasn't the best and some of the acting wasn't that great. I also didn't really find it particularly scary though it did have some jump scare moments. What I did really enjoy the most was the '70s vibe it gave and was reminiscent of the original movie in some ways. I also really enjoyed seeing the original actors. I give it a seven more for the nostalgia aspect of it and it did have very good production values and great kills.
