Addams Family Values (1993)
Funny and original
Personally, I LOVE these movies. I've been on a rewatch binge for the past two days. I adore the humor and family dynamic of the Addams. This film is filled with laughter and good lessons to be learned. The pacing is good and in the end I was satisfied to see Debbie get what she deserved. Seeing Wednesday and Joel have their cute romantic moments was adorable. I also enjoy that everyone kind of had their own little plot going on. How can you not enjoy these? I feel like a 6/10 rating isn't deserving, however I guess people are not always going to appreciate a good film when they see one. Now onto the third movie to cure my boredom for today.
Wednesday (2022)
It was good, and then got bad.
During the first half of the movie, although cliche and a little cringe, it wasn't bad. I liked Wednesday's character along with her family. Enid was dreadful to watch but I won't take off points for that. Then the storyline started getting more convoluted, random, and rushed. By the end I was just sitting there waiting for the episode to end because I was bored out of my mind. It felt like I was watching a mixture of Harry Potter and Riverdale (one of Netflix's worst shows to date). It lost the original Addams family aspects I very much wanted to see and was turned into a 10 year old's coming of age film with writers desperately trying to appeal to the youth of this generation.
Death Note: Desu nôto (2006)
LITERALLY THE BEST ANIME TO EXIST EVER
THIS SHOW IS SO GOOD. It's the best thing I've ever seen and nothing tops it even after years. The plot is never boring, the characters are amazing, and the ending is satisfying.
Devilman: Crybaby (2018)
Literally straight ass
I actually hated this show. It was so random and the only cool thing was the art style. The ending wasn't horrible but it's just so boring. It's a no from me.
Sôru îtâ (2008)
Not bad, but not amazing either.
It's okay. The plot isn't riveting but you'll have fun enjoying the character interactions and humor. The fan service isn't my favorite. Dropped it around episode 17 because I just wasn't hooked. Slow plot, but decent show.
Platinum End (2021)
10/10 Great so far!
I don't know why this show has such a low rating. It's animated beautifully with, in my opinion, an awesome plot that has similar religious symbolism to Death Note. On the first episode I was hooked! Guess you can't please everybody.
Arcane: League of Legends (2021)
One of the best shows I've ever seen
Not only is the plot along with all of the characters' stories captivating, the visuals are unlike anything i've watched before. It's a mix of cyberpunk and steampunk and it works perfectly. The characters are fleshed out and unique. The villains are actually interesting. I seriously can't get enough of this show and the soundtrack.
Brahms: The Boy II (2020)
A Disappointing Sequel
When I first watched The Boy, I was captivated by its storyline. Finding out that Brahms was a real human controlling the doll was a twist I did not expect. It actually intensified the film, since I feel like we've all seen a thousand movies about possessed dolls before. As the movie progressed you realized Brahms was watching and listening through the walls at all times. He was troubled and stuck in the mindset of wanting to be cared for as little boy. Honestly, that really creeped me out and I loved it. Just the entire plot of Brahms having specific instructions, obeying you unless the rules were broken, and being hidden from the world because of his true nature made the film a solid 10/10 for me. I've seen it four times. The main thing though that I appreciate about the first movie was that the doll never moved on its own. Now, Brahms: The Boy II decided to throw away that plot line in its entirety and travel the clichè "scary possessed doll" route. Already I'm disappointed and the movie isn't even over. In fact, you learn that Brahms is actually dead which bummed me out because his character was the most interesting of them all. Though, I did like the child actor's role in this movie the best in comparison to literally anyone else. I could roll with the plot that Brahms wanted to make Jude into his evil clone. In my opinion, that would have worked better if Brahms was still alive and Jude had been visiting him in secret. The doll moves on its own and is possessed by what we find out to be Brahm's...burnt...fetus? I don't know what the hell that was honestly. It was very jarring and random. Overall I just found this film to be disappointing. I wanted to see Brahms in the sequel. He could have still been living in the walls, visiting Jude, corrupting him, and turning him against his parents. Maybe Jude even kills his parents in the end and sets Brahms free into the real world as they go on to be horrible members of society. Or they live in the walls together forever like creepy best friends. Either one would have been better than the train wreck of Brahms: The Boy II. Also, Joseph's character was unnecessary. He contributed absolutely nothing to the plot except being disgusting. The movie progresses weirdly in the end and overall was not what I think any of The Boy lovers wanted to see. I will now have to go on pretending as if I never saw this movie to save myself from remembering how bad it was. I gave it 3 stars for jumpscaring me a few times but that's generous.
Darwin's Game (2020)
Awesome survival series
This anime has great animation and a good plot. The battle scenes gave me chills from the sound effects and storyline. I hope this gets more popular because I would really like to see a season 2!!
Death Parade (2015)
Most Beautiful Ending
In my opinion, this anime is a 10 out of 10. Not only is the story a good psychological thriller that captivates you at the best moments, but it includes lots of heartfelt and wholesome scenes that bring it all together. It really shows humanity in the most vulnerable way possible. The ending of the show hit me so hard. Some people may not like this show, but I really appreciate how artistically beautiful the storyline is.
Kimetsu no Yaiba (2019)
One of my favorites
The animation style is immaculate. I also love the depth of the plot and Tanjiro & Nezuko's bond. The characters are super funny and it's a must watch.
