Event Horizon (1997)
Promised myself to never watch another Anderson movie...
...now I regret i changed my mind.
To be honest it begins well and with an intriguing buildup, but midway it becomes another expensive hollywood produced bore and snore B movie, and not the entertaining type of a good B movie...
The main problems with this flick ain't the actors and actresses, they're more than decent. No the main problems are Paul anderson because he's a talentless hack. Watched this mainly because of the actual science portrayed in the film, but as said, changed my mind I bothered.
P.s. Horrible Mortal Kombat (socalled) music from beginning to end. Just epically horrible.
The Sandman (2022)
A wellmade show though heavily unbalanced...
As usual in these modern times netflix continue to aim and target gen Z hipsters*um...
Watched it to the end because of my household hero Stephen Fry since 30 years. Great main character. Some decent side characters too but there's some really unnecessary talentless trendvictimized and pretentious deadbeat actors and actresses also that contribute nothing to plot and storytelling. The show starts interesting the first episodes but loses it's pace. Music sucks but the overall humour is good throughout. Will continue to watch, solely because of Fry. Feels like it's slowly turning into a typical politically correct BBC production where everyone and everything must be included for the sake of not excluding and offending anyone. Hope not.
P.s. Loved the cereal convention theme, especially seeing Frys character peek into the "religion room". Haha.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
When money and greed ruled the earth...
...but also prostitute actors and actresses... Yes, I'm speaking of 3 of my '97 movie heroes - Neill, Dern and Goldblum. Lost my respect for them altogether them signing on to this embarrassing pile of trash. Hollywood is so desperate to lure pop i***t sheep to the cinemas, they'll do anything earning a quick buck, no matter if a movie has no substance and storytelling script whatsoever, this flick is no exception. Furthermore, hiring that buffoon Pratt in any movie production just shows the lack of brains responsible for the production. Always despised that p***k and him joining the next generation JP universe destroyed this franchise from day one.
For us who genuinely loves paleontology, zoology and dinosaur history - long live the original film, second and third not very memorable but sure I'll include them for the sake of it. The rest however, total and utter stool water material that deserves to be eaten and eradicated by a flock of Compsognathuses.
The Orville (2017)
A modern secular scifi!
Everything MacFarlane does i always watch. Yeah, even the Ted movies... anywhoo, he have a tendency to lean on science, reason and religious critique as a theme, which I've always been a fan of and The Orville doesn't disappoint. Been watching since day one and will always support this show.
Keep doing your thing Seth /a 45 year old godless trekkie science geek.
Insidious (2010)
Great camera work, but that's it...
Awful script and storytelling with mediocre actors/actresses with lines that are dumb as a post for far too often in order to get engaged in this conceptual haunted plot. Wilson's character is really the hero of this flick, the "voice of reason" who in reality wouldn't ineed tolerate pseudoscientic mediums at his doorstep, but rather would send his wife and family members to a looney bin. Nope, better ya'll put your time on a horror with more substance than this one.
Under the Banner of Heaven (2022)
Simply brilliant!
Excellent actors, script and intelligent storytelling. If you're a godless sceptical thinker like I am, you're not gonna get bored by this show. One of the best works by the author the show base it's book on. Reccomend watching this highly much because of seeing Garfield in a serious adult role and playing against that atheist indigenous actor, great duo chemistry there.
Bill Maher: #Adulting (2022)
He keeps doing his thing...
...and that's always a good thing. One of the brightest, truthful, funniest and anti-PC intellectual comedians alive today. All hail and long life Bill!
Tokyo Vice (2022)
The true gems of this series are the japanese actors and actresses...
The main american actor and his rise to employment started out interesting for an episode or two, great photography and authenticity overall with the nippon culture and everyday life in Tokyo. However, it has since then turned boring and flat, all Adelstein does is eats, drinks and smokes. The blonde american actress storyline became full on typical jesus freak from episode 4-5. Poorly and dumb written character in general. Why is it impossible to have an interesting film plot without bringing in american religious quackery every time? To summarise the show as a whole, the writing and pace has gone down in quality and the only reason you're watching is because of the yakuza competing gang story. The fight scene and assassination attempt in episode 5 was furthermore horribly executed. Worst ninjas, ever! Watanabe and the japanese actors and actresses are the main stars in this show though I'm not sure it will be enough in order to remain an interest for the audience to continue watching, at least yours truly.
P.s. Read Nickybon's review. I agree fully.
Black Market with Michael K. Williams (2016)
A tremendously biased documentary
Biased and a romantic portrayal on how highly clever scam artists bypasses countless (not yet illegal) laws in order to become filthy rich and live fake lives as influenser parasites on greedy industries like music and other corrupt venues. Easy to understand how fake artists like Greta von fleet and similiar stool water hipster material have made a name for themselves - bots, naturally. Why the documentary producer wanted to picture the last fake artist in the end a decent citizen and not deserve a guilty charge and a sentence is beyond any comprehension.
The Northman (2022)
The ultimate hipster hype...
...towards millennials and gen z sheep that don't care for historical/mythological accuracy and adore that pseudo show Vikings on the "history" channel... Never tolerated Skarsgard as an actor nor his pretentious and pompous personality, just like Eggers among many other part of this production.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness (2021)
Another hipster disney show...
...featuring the creme de la creme of the pretentious/privileged hollywood hipster elite voice actors and actresses. Capcom seem to continue to believe this type of pile of trash will impress the genuine fans doing animated flicks that has no soul of resident evil whatsoever. Nothing can be worse those paul/milla action movie series, but this is not far off. Avoid!
Eternals (2021)
Stool water material...
Just another piece of lack of substance s*ite which the Marvel universe has become. The effects are the best of the best, but the actors and actresses (the elite club of inward admiration from Hollywood) are so stale and souless and the script and storytelling is so embarrassingly badly written ya have to turn this off and do something more worth your time, like writing this review before bedtime. *yawn*
Zappa (2020)
A good documentary...
...and an overall decent portrait of a musical legend. However it missed alot of commentary concerning his morale values, worldviews and other anti authoritarian subjects of critique, his disgust for religion and religious thought as one of them. A genuis, ashame he's gone, his voice of reason and people like him would be an asset in these modern times.
The Witcher (2019)
Content, for now at least...
A couple of general thoughts...
1. In the show, Geralt only uses his regular sword which is for humans, not his silver sword which is for monsters. Still he hasn't used his silver sword (only carried it) so far eventhough he's fought a couple by now...
2. We demand more hedonism in general on the show! Weither it's men, women, midgets or unicorns!
3. Where is the religious critique or tasteful/funny hitchslaps from Geralt that we can take part of in the games? Many of us genuine fans miss a secular voice of reason and dialogue in the show. Religion is medieval fairytale delusional h*mb*g and the current polish g*vernment is more or less the Nilfgaard empire, so yeah... do something about that in season 3.
4. Mind the show's (socalled) music of choice... Just quit this ridiculous PR towards Gen Z and in general the modern hipster subculture. Many of us fans who's been around since the beginning don't accept nor acknowledge a hiphop nor a electro pop song as music, using that BS in a teaser is simply ridiculously distasteful and doesn't fit with the atmosphere of the show.
5. An observation to point number 4... No more manbuns or hip trendvictimized cl*wn characters in the next season. Keep the contemporary modern hip looks to a minimum for crying out loud, this ain't a show on feudal japan and the samurai, who were the only fit individuals to wear a bloody manbun in history. Period!
To conclude... 2 seasons deserve a rating of 7.5.
The Wheel of Time (2021)
Snore...
A ripoff outta LOTR packed with hipster actors and actresses. That's more or less it. My gutfeeling this would be another contemporary PC political saga signed by the BBC made it an easy choice to discard. Watched 20 mins and turned it off and watched the real LOTR instead.
Lemmy (2010)
Greg Olliver is a...
Trendvictimized pretentious hipster, a talentless posering b*m that has milked the name of Lemmy and Motörhead for long enough. Boycotting this individual like the plague is the most sensible thing doing.
No Time to Die (2021)
That embarrassing theme tune says it all...
...about the future of the Bondverse - pc hipsters**m culture has taken over. Weither it's the actors and actresses, repetitive predictable clicheés of storytelling, Bond has throughout the Craig era slowly turned into a trendvictimized, pretentious sleeping pill and a tragicomical parody of itself. Good to see that Moneypenny actress and Voldemort as M again on the screen, but it didn't help turning off this tiresome waste of time after an hour. Bond is a poseur in these modern times, while the real Bond dead and buried, courtesy of the Broccoli/Fleming/BBC production team and even if the incompetent BBC isn't officially involved with the production, it sure has for the past few flicks stunk of their modern hip MO.
Escape from Death Block 13 (2021)
What do you do when movie legends die out...
...and what do you do when you're like the rest of tinseltown in the 21th century - got no new ideas, innovation and creativity in movie art? Ya resurrect them in the shape of actors who look like these passed movie legends and continue milking a concept, story and style in order to get easy money and please the modern hipster virus with legs in a true trendvictimized manner, but of course.
Ash vs Evil Dead (2015)
Those two hipster sidekicks...
...destroyed the show. Barely watchable. Embarrassing Raimi! Enough with giving a paycheck to the hipster elite actors guild of america.
Long live Campbell and Lawless though!
50 States of Fright (2020)
My childhood film director hero Raimi...
...loves apparently to work with the hipster elite of Hollysnore nowadays. Spiderman may have been a sellout, but at least Ash vs evil dead ya thought would be an overall hoot, but nooo, of course he had to put in a few annoying talentless hipster actors and actresses in the mix just because it's the 21th century.
Be Water (2020)
Nothing new in substance, except the anti rascism part...
...and the horribly greedy money milking daughter Shannon Lee is part of this documentary production. Ergo, avoid like the plague! Watch the movies of Bruce Lee instead.
I Am Bruce Lee (2012)
Shannon and a bunch of big brother celebrity buffoons...
It's enough that Bruce's greedy and talentless daughter is apart of any production, she loves milking the money cow of her father's name. Avoid this waste of time.
Magnum P.I. (2018)
Just awful...
...everything, actors, actresses, dialogue, horrific hipster music etc etc. A perfect sleeping pill. Nothing more.
The Man from Hong Kong (1975)
Just imagine if Bruce Lee starred in this movie...
It's still a great flick to watch with Yu, he did a decent job, but with Lee it would have become one of the best kickass films of all times!
The Wicker Man (1973)
A brilliant movie PR for secularism and critical thinking...
The film shows the contradictions, arrogance and idiocy and it unveils religion for what it really is - ancient medieval fairytales and supernatural humbug that offends and infects the human intellect like a malignant virus. Show it in elementary schools, if it can inspire and help kids to think for themselves, our world may have a better chance for peace, science and progress.
