OK, but overrated
9 April 2006
This film is decent, but it relies too heavily on the special effects. The acting is nothing to shout about and Adrien Brody and Jack Black are totally miscast in my opinion. However, Naomi Watts puts in a good performance, especially as she spends many scenes trying to interact with something that isn't really there.

The main part of the story which was set on Skull Island I found to be too drawn out and ended up becoming quite boring, only rescued by a few action sequences. When it returns to New York however, the film picks up and the conclusion is rather enjoyable.

Altogether an interesting romp with the big ape, but just too long, over-hyped and overrated. After the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, fame and fortune seems to have gone to Peter Jackson's head.

Jackass bliss
25 March 2003
Jackass technically isn't a movie, instead it is an extended version of the TV show. But that isn't a bad thing. The pranks will keep you in stitches and close to throwing up at others. Simply, if you love the show, you'll love the film, great film to watch with a bunch of your mates and some beer.

What a great comedy, a classic!
7 August 2001
I fell in love with this movie the first time I saw it, although the script is not brilliant the cast made a great effort and made it very convincing, James Belushi plays nice guy convict Jimmy Dworfski as he plans to escape prison for the weekend to see the Chicago Cubs in the World Series, getting his fellow in-mates to cover it up. While out he finds business executive Spencer Barnes (Charles Grodin) filofax and takes over his life. Belushi & Grodin are great together in this feel good comedy, as a lover of Baseball I was drawn to this even more, but if you're not you'll still find it just as enjoyable. This is the best James Belushi film I've seen!

Brill action, Brill comedy, Brill film!
5 August 2001
This film is one of the best of the year, director Brett Ratner has certainly surpassed himself here, the movie kicks off where the original left off, with Chan & Tucker going to Hong Kong on vacation, after 3 days the duo are out solving another case. Tucker is still the loudest mouth in the west as he constantly blurts out hilarious jokes in his unique high-pitched voice, and Chan as ever is still the fastest hands in the east and has some astounding fight sequences. This movie is so much better than the first because of the mix of behaviour, in the first film it would be Chan does the fighting, Tucker does the jokes. However this time Chan has his fair share of jokes and Tucker has some cool fights which combine to form a creative duo. There are also nice references to the first film such as when Jackie tells Tucker to "Never touch a Chinese mans radio". And to finish this great film it has outtakes which is a nice touch to it like the first. If you loved the first film, you will love this even more, 8/10.

Great fast-paced action
24 July 2001
Although this may not be the best of the Jurassic Park series, it is still a very respectful flick, and considering it lasts for only 90 minutes it manages to pack more dino action than a Velociraptor could shake it's claw at. The tense moments are timed to perfection and it is great to see a host of interesting characters. However the film does have its sour moments, the storyline is quite poor compared to the others and the humour just doesn't fit in that well, yet it still gets a thumbs up from me, I would recommend you seeing this if you liked the first two a lot, but if you thought the Lost World was bad, then you probably wouldn't want to see this.
