Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)
Surprisingly good
I wasn't intending to watch this, but after a while, there wasn't anything else except the trashy Love is Blind nonsense and I decided to give this a go. The first few minutes were really B grade but it got much better and I ended up watching all episodes over two days. I loved the little kid who played Aang, and the two who played Katara and Sokka. Prince Zuko was also good. It was great to see so many Native Americans in the story. I will eagerly await season 2, which didn't expect when I started watching it. If you want a straight forward fantasy filled story with great special effects, with no mind bending underlying themes, this one can be recommended.
Citadel (2023)
Don't take it seriously - it's a TV show!
This is enjoyable and a fun watch. Anyone making a big deal about realism is going to be disappointed. For me it's 35 minutes of action, adventure and make believe, i.e. Pure escapism, especially these days when the world is eating itself up with hatred and gaslighting, misinformation and pure meanness. This is truthful in that we all know it's pure fiction. The good thing is that it doesn't try to take itself too seriously. I like the characters and I like that it isn't clear who the mole is...keeps me watching. It helps that the actors are good to look at.
I gave it 9 stars because its a heck of a lot better than watching the sad state of the news and awful reality shows.
Tayna pechati drakona (2019)
Absolutely awful with terrible dubbing!
Why on earth did they need to dub the English speaking actors into English, and so poorly?
This was terribly acted, directed even more terribly and Jackie Chan and Arnie couldn't save it. It was just complete chaos from the beginning to the end, with very little story, background or character building.
I wasted my time and money on it. One star for the costumes.
