Valley Girl (2020)
Your jealousy is showing
You make an 80s remake and you hint at, but refuse to acknowledge Michael Jackson but let everyone know you are obsessed with and bitter and envious of the guy who invented "the 80s"? All of hollywood is involved in this because a major studio had the last word. You are so obsessed, you even forgot about Prince. You played all the rest of the music though. This is a pattern in many movies that head in this direction.
A Castle for Christmas (2021)
Drew Barrymore
She had said on her show that she would take an indefinite hiatus from acting. Seeing that she revealed that she is a jack of all trades and a master of every one of them, she could. But she appears in this movie reminding us of the only talk show born in a pandemic. It's a good one, too. Obviously, executive producer of this movie, Brooke Shields and she are good friends. The movie marks a decidedly trendy direction of actors and studios taking hallmark street to more gentle movies. Complete with a traditional Christmas song and message at the end, this is a Christmas romance movie where you can predict as all other reviewers said. However, having been spoiled by the nee sensitivity to diversity, it's hard not to notice a few things. There is only one poc in this. Reality has more. Always. So it shouldn't be a political discussion. The movie really feels like you're reading an instruction manual saying this must happen next; eventually the romance must happen. And it felt like the actors were uncomfortable with it. Only when the twist comes along, does it seem to wake them up. It was very uncomfortable until then. Because there has been a fuss over diversity, seemingly simple gestures made seemingly simple by time, have been made major subjects of discussion. When the couple in a very popular series go to make love...Bridgerton, there are some critic complaints about it being too much. With other similar couples in other movies, if they have sex without the benefit of marriage, the complaints about morals actually come up from critics, hearkening back to ancient times, as most critics would exclaim if the couple wasn't diverse like Bridgerton. So, the veil is lifted, when a non diverse couple have sex without marriage, on the reality of the thinking. It's too late not to talk about it. You can't put that toothpaste back in the tube.
Much Ado About Christmas (2021)
Quite misogynistic.
Director Damien is quite the chauvinist. It was hard to take. Susie did a wonderful job of removing the veil from the direction he wanted to go. The male in this romance comes off as hard to take.
City of Lies (2018)
The movie made 2 million
Dollars in the..what... 5 days it was allowed to be out over allegations against Depp? Imagine if it was allowed to be out for a month? It probably would have been the biggest money maker of the year. It's a powerful movie. And the premise, itself reminds of the broken justice system.
NCIS: Hawai'i (2021)
It may not be Hawaii 5-0
But it is an attempt to make up for it. The legendary series was led by white men. This series is not. So despite what critics don't like, it's appreciated.
Star Wars (1977)
I agree with everyone. It's great
The original editing is best. Naturally when the re releases came, Hollywood felt the need to add things that were unnecessary. One little creature punching another at Mos Eisley was overdoing it. Also, Hollywood critics revise history by saying they gave it positive reviews upon initial release. They did not. Only 30 years later when it's a classic they are all positive. Why do you think they didn't want to accept Lucas' idea when he first proposed it? He had to make it, himself. Critics miss. We must deal with this fact. Why do organic blockbusters never garner a sweep of the awards given at the end of a broadcast? By that I mean best picture director actor and actress? By organic, I mean word of mouth magical feeling blockbusters with no Hollywood hype? Ones that feel like Star Wars episode 4?
Efter brylluppet (2006)
It's a great linear story
That hollywood studios remade in 2019 just as an excuse to use that anti religious foul language that they feel is obligatory in every movie they make. Same script writer? Even in remakes?
Off the Map (2011)
You have to satisfy all demographics
And this did not. A lot of times when you espouse political beliefs, you alienate an audience. That's what happened here. While kids die in real life it's best not to have onscreen.
Eden (2014)
Contrived action movie
Trying to keep you glued, the movie seems phony. Killing for the sake of killing is disturbing. Official critics are politically motivated to hate it. There is the usual tokenism in it.
90210 (2008)
It's like Star Wars
The original came out and was panned. 20 plus years later it's considered classic, especially if there is a reboot.
Larry Gaye: Renegade Male Flight Attendant (2015)
I appreciate
The Michael Jackson impersonator near the end of the movie. That's the only reason I gave it a 10.
A Christmas Exchange (2020)
Hollywood must be indifferent
About great scripting because a great script guarantees a hit, no matter the budget. If all the scripts were great Hollywood wouldn't think twice about the budget because of all the hits. Maybe Canada forces great scripting because the government is willing to foot the bill and they have a limit. Here is a great script. The actors are great and everything works.
To Have and to Hold (2006)
Hollywood does its part
To continue divisiveness. Meg kills the one Hollywood deems expendable. Just think. If the expendable one was cast as the husband there would be mo review calling him handsome. And if the intruder was not black, he would not have been killed or it would be murder instead of justifiable homicide. I might as well say it since the other reviews make personal statements about the actors instead of reviewing the movie. Also, the Lisa character is called psycho in movies like this as if the husband didn't do anything wrong. I watched this attempt at Fatal Attraction because I am a fan of Jessica Lowndes. The performances are decent. I am not a fan of the genre but it's watchable.
Gun (2010)
These movies reveal
The remaining divisiveness in this country. The reviews say it all. There is condescension from some critics about who they think this movie is for. They may have been offended by some of the scenes. Kudos to the actors as they try to erase that divisiveness.
Wrongfully Accused (2019)
Perspective
This movie is saved by a reversal of a trope. The women in the prison teach the main character the value of paying it forward. Otherwise, you have to suspend belief. It's not about a
movie that is good or bad. It's a star vehicle for AnnaLynne McCord.
Mysterious (2007)
Violence against children
Nuff said. It has much violence in it that wasn't discussed in the parents guide section.
Fifty Shades Freed (2018)
This movie was a set up
The producers were hoping to trap conservatives, the expected audience is disappointed and the anti religious language meets them in the middle.
Mean Girls 2 (2011)
Profoundly stupid
And stereotypical in true hollywood fashion, in every conceivable way.
Blue Shark Hash (2001)
Look at your watch
That's what it felt like the makers of this movie said as they tried to fill the 1 hour and 37 minutes. It's stupid and made for 25 year old men in mancaves.
Night Moves (2013)
Misogynistic
In Hollywood, a movie is never directed by the director; it is directed by the distributor. When critics protestingly bring up the director's name, you know you're hearing lies about how much control she had. Besides, this movie is a true story.
Jane Doe: Vanishing Act (2005)
You feel guilty
The series gives you the impression that it's necessary to lie. Hence the guilt ridden rating, though it's drama strong enough to keep you watching.
Knock Knock (2015)
Every hollywood trope is included
Keanu character gets away with it. Black man dies at the end. It's called "sexy". It provides the cheap thrills. We're all exposed for the sinners we are including the filmmakers. Also, the performance of the actors is usually rated based on political persuasion of the critic. It should be known that if the review was not indifferent, the performances were perfect. There were no indifferent reviews.
The Nines (2007)
You can't write a valid review
If the movie confuses you or if you insult others because they don't agree with you. Having said that, the movie is confusing. The part where they reveal prejudices of Hollywood isn't, though. The ideal movie would be to be non prejudiced in scripting, look away where you're offended, expose yourself and acknowledge that. They only left out the last part in this one.

The Wedding Party 2: Destination Dubai (2017)
Families learning to accept other cultures.
It's a good movie. It is romance prevailing despite obstacles. Many reviews of movies featuring a black man and white woman generally get negative reviews for obvious reasons whether the movie is good or not. See for yourself and decide. If the movie can be seen for its merit, rather than with prejudice, then you might be surprised. I see many movies and read reviews that have nothing to do with the plot. For instance, one reviewer was appalled at the idea that Nigerians could have wealth.
