I'm so happy jenna is getting the recognition she deserves as she is so talented and i love her so much lol im also just in love with tyler even after the plottwist but a lover that's an enemy is so exciting and i'm screaming with the "to lose" scene like i'm shaking and screaming sir-
The Sandman (2022)
it was good till the last half
The first half was strong and very intriguing with the character with the ruby till his death, his intentions were very clear and honestly viewed him as a stronger antagonist rather than carinthyn (however u spell his name) who i viewed as not much else to show his power but to stab eyes specifically gay people??? For dream/sandman himself i wish we see him to be more stronger as he is the king yk. I feel like we were introduced to so many characters that lacked depth and were put to the side. The ending for me was weak with the passing of the heart "oh rose you are the heart" okay "mike you're the heart" that will byers said :/ i felt like the overall thing was weak but due to the visuals and the first half i still gave it a pretty high rating, the scenes with violence were executed (see what i did there lol) well and understood the 18 rating for those 10 mins of screentime but other than that the whole thing can be brought to a 12 rating. I felt like this would have been better if we got fighting sequences but i guess the book didn't have any so. Also i think is an example of the book did it better than the movie, there were too many things happening with so many characters to be shoved into 10 eps/ 9 hours of screentime when even if i didn't read the book, i think the book would have done a better job fleshing our the characters and overall execution of the world building.
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
i mean i liked it
Idk why people don't like this movie, it's not the worst marvel movie out there and i enjoyed the comedy in the first half before jumping into something more emotional, it was just a fun film altho dealing with themes of terminal illness so a tw could have been somewhere idk. Christian is such a great actor and they could have used it to the fullest, if they just stretched more of his story with his daughter it defo would have been a hardcore punch also kore just being ill at the end was kind of nowhere so they could have given more and more hints throughout to show him getting weaker like what they did with jane. Also zeus being that weak??? And the end cred with hercules like is the next villain idk, but overall it leaves thor movies and character very open for anything to happen, this movie was more of a wrapup of jane and thor's relationship and story which opens a new story for literally anything, MOM and this one are more wrapups of certain characters and plots from previous films and leaves everything else in the open.
See for Me (2021)
didn't like the mc
I mean sophie was so annoying and unlikable, the other character trying to help her out and she stands there doing the opposite, this would have wrapped up if she told the police in the first place but i guess she didn't cuz she wants the money, which at the end i guess u don't cheer for her (i never did) cuz she stole the stolen money. Anyways i've seen this type of thriller home invasion movie so many times they just merge as one that the mc lives a happy life after.
Awake (2021)
lowkey bad
Umm it was just messy (not in the stylistic way) like plot, there was no origin like bird box and the quiet place it fits into this disaster category of film genres, the cure was??? Plus how did the old woman not survive and what was the point of that surgeon injection that in the doctor? For what idk.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021)
that happened yea
Umm idk what else to say except i didn't like it lol and it was very slowly paced and didn't have enough oomph for me to be at the edge of my seat and i just wanted it to be done tbh, the last act was predictable i knew who the pig masked person was cuz it was very easy to guess lol but overall not the greatest thriller/horror out there.
Young Royals (2021)
i kept paralleling it to the song of achilles
This was soooo good, i started months ago but not until today for myself to finally come back and complete it in one sitting, im writing this review as i listen to "memories" by conan gray and does it hurt a ton :( im so excited for the second season coming out cuz that ending was just painful. As the show continued the more i thought about achilles and patroclus from "the song of achilles" with this forbidden love and royalty of the king inline and the outsider. This trope is just *chefs kiss*. Im a sucker for painful romance and this is one of them.
I loved and related to simon's issues with family and not particularly fitting in and wants to ensure his family is his main focus, and ofc wilhelm's struggles with wanting to feel normal and be with simon but ca't cause he has to sacrifice his family and position but can't do this as he also chooses his family.
One of my fav scenes is the football pitch when wilhelm says everything is fake but his love for simon is real and says how beautiful he is, i was legit tearing up bc that scene was just beautiful.
Also i dont like august and sara oop- they can be together in this facade world their living in
anyways thats just my thoughts for season one and ill update this when s2 comes out, anyways i love this sm.
Love, Victor (2020)
season 1 was the best and went slightly downhill
I mean season 1 for me was this masterpiece that made me cry a lot and cheered for victor's happiness but now i just finished s3 i didnt enjoy it as much as i wished i did, it was an underwhelming ending in my opinion, like sure the parallel to love simon at the ferris wheel was nice but the whole season felt like it was just there to wrap it up and to say bye to the characters and nothing else added but this random fella nick for what idk when we all know victor would always end up with benji, im still giving it a rating cuz i loved the first season and second one a lot and it makes up for this season, also felix <333 ofc anyways this season was just fluff um-
First Kill (2022)
full of action and my tears
There was a good balance of action with romance that i loved. Literally majority of all romance and couples in this one i loved and made me cry in mostly all of them esp the last episode had me crying with the love for family and defo want a season 2 cuz i want to know what happens with that ending. Maybe for improvement they could get better cgi i mean come on its netlflix give them better cgi yk, but was overall was pleasantly surprised with my liking of this! Its the lesbian twilight we all wanted.
Interceptor (2022)
i mean it was eh
Rating it 5 cuz it wasnt terrible nor the greatest thing out there, it had some comedy in there when switchiing to chris' character and had some good action altho the ending was underwheming.
Euphoria (2019)
masterpiece!!
From the cinematography to the soundtrack to the different storylines from start to finish it was absolutely incredible. A show where all film artists should watch and look at how incredible they filmed it with so much emotion. I loved the different storylines of each episode with each character and their growth from start to finish. The last scene was a music video type way of filming and Zendaya singing just finished it all. I also liked how they tackled drugs, alcohol, abuse and mental health. I was hesitant to start watching it as it was too graphic and it wasn't my type of show but i'm glad i watched it as it's now one of my fav shows with how high quality it was. Incredible acting too and a recommended show for everyone to watch!
Seuwiteuhom (2020)
worth watching
Storyline was incredible and a good use of effects and music to match the action, every episode leaves you wanting more. The ending left it with a cliffhanger, so i hope netflix renews it with more depth how the disease started. also cried with samurai guy dying and sad with glasses guy dying,,,
Murder on the Orient Express (2017)
predictable
I knew the outcome within a few minutes of the murder scene and who was involved in the murder with the tiny details specified to the viewer. i've seen similar films to this where the execution was better and had a better plottwist.
Soul (2020)
beautifully made
A strong animation that is well created from the small details to the lighting and colours. it had a strong message behind it with enjoying life with every single minute and to find your "spark" and to not take anything for granted. one of the most well thought out animations visually and internally
Zootopia (2016)
not like any other disney film
Pleasantly surprised what this film was about and the message behind it, with how it can relate to the real world with prejudice. A film where it's targeting kids but can be enjoyed by all ages and viewers can be educated about what happens in this fictional world but real life as well. One of my favourite animated films.
Given (2019)
i couldn't stop crying
I expected this to be lighthearted romance but ended up being deep and emotional and i cried so much throughout. the whole plot was so strong and had such a powerful message behind it that i love, it was beautiful shown through music and shots and is one of my fav animes
Stranger Things (2016)
exciting!
Season 1 and 2 are my favs compared to 3 as i liked the plot more compared to 3 which focused a lot on breakups and being slightly cheesy like a romcom in a sense rather than this sci-fi drama in seasons 1 and 2, it has incredible cinematography and soundtrack with fantastic acting
