Terrifying yet cliched
13 June 2022
This FF horror is made in a style that hundreds of other FF horrors were made , a group getting lost in the forest, hearing strange noises at night etc, it just feels like any other FF horror you have seen before.

While the one hour or so was cliched, the last 22 mins , was absolutely terrifying and insane with the last scene before ending being the most disturbing one highlighting a cult that exists in the Black Water area. There is one jump scare (related to Anthony where he got killed) as well near the end which was very well timed and really shot me off my bed.

Watch it in a cozy silent night and you will enjoy it although it feels a ripoff of many other FF horrors of this kind.

Belashuru (2022)

Belashuru - A new beginning
11 June 2022
Belashuru means "A new way of living" or "accepting a new way of living". This film quite well justifies this title . But it has its own issues

This sequel has no connection with whatever happened in Belasheshe. There is not even any reference to that film. Only the characters are carried forward. A Nandita-Shibo film means litres of tears flowing through character's eyes even in situations that dont require and this film is also no different.

The best part of this film is the constant effort put by Biswanath to bring back the memory of his wife Arati suffering from Alzheimer's and the sweet love and care for his wife despite his wife having forgotten him. The two share a terrific yet heart warming chemistry. Actually, this film is dominated by Swati mam and somewhere Soumitra sir feels a little sidelined as the story this time is not revolving around him unlike the previous film. But definitely this part is the highlight. Second great thing was Kharaj . Terrific comic timing bringing in the much needed comic relief in this emotional journey, some notable ones being Arati constantly calling him a milkman or newspaper man due to her illness was really fun to watch. The last good thing are the songs. All are terrific.

Now comes the weak points. A 2hr 20 mins film stretched with those usual expected subplots of the children and grandchildren and this time it does not work at all. An unnecessary gay angle popping up from nowhere (I wouldnt say where as it would be spoilers but wherever is comes, it just feels too forced ), the Sharmishta - Barin story that suddenly disappears at the end with no conclusion and the Palash-Piu story that is so awkward all contribute to nothing but only increase the length of the film. The subplots have no impact at all. Nandita-Shibo should have not opted for this old strategy rather should have focused on the main plot which was very interesting.

The final climax does justify the title brilliantly but then you know, it felt so abruptly ending that audience in the theatre were like "Oh thats the end?" The makers should have ended it in a better way rather than in an abrupt way although i understand it very well justifies the title of the film Belashuru.

Swatilekha mam is the show stealer and this film completely belongs to her. Her behavior as mentally unstable lady is really heart warming and at times heart wrenching to witness. Next is no doubt, Soumitra sir. His chemistry with Swatilekha is terrific. He doesnt dominate the film but has really good moments throughout. Next is Kharaj. His comedy made my day. Others also have done a great job and help in rescuing a film that could have gone down due to poor subplots.

Overall, this is not as good as Belasheshe but definitely a great one time watch. Wont leave a lasting impact on you but you will definitely feel atleast you watched a decent film.

Guilty Minds (2022– )

Would have been better if they focused only on cases!
1 May 2022
GUILTY MINDS has two angles, one, that each episode focuses on a different case being fought at the court and two, the personal life angles.

The first angle is terrific. 9 episodes showcasing some 9 really closely fought cases with the judgement going in an unpredictable direction making sure this is a more realistic depiction of courtroom dramas than the mainstream ones where anyone can predict the judgement. Some of my favorites would be the Ehno case, the Finisher case and the Aalaap case, which imo were really difficult ones and the decision could go on either side. It is shot in a very intriguing way making you completely invested in the courtroom sequences. The 10th case however, is the case that runs throughout the series and is stretched to the very end and i didnt find it too engaging.

The 2nd aspect is what brings down this series, the personal life angle, the romantic angles , the Kashaf's past angle all these were totally speedbreakers in the intriguing cases. The series should have focused completely on the cases rather than include these romantic angles in between that make the series a really long one (each episode is 48 mins on an average).

Everyone from Varun Mitra to Shriya have done a good job. That girl who plays Shubhangi is cute and i have a crush on her.

Overall, a good watch. But could have been a 20 times better if the personal life angles were not included.

From fun to insane
4 April 2022
Shot in a 90% Found Footage style, this film goes from being a fun mood trip of 5 friends to becoming absolutely insane and terrifying towards the end. The story is plain simple but execution is top class.

Marble Hornets (2009–2014)
9/10
Epitome of Found Footage horror.
3 April 2022
Found footage horror in my opinion is atleast a 100 times more creepier and terrifying than normal horror films. In normal ones, you know you are in a fictional world with actors beginning to perform on the directors's call of "ACTION!". However, Found Footage horror is the genre where the cameraman is the actor himself. In fact, FF horror tends to try bringing in realism in the imaginary world of horror by smartly using tape recordings from a person to showcase the events. The rawness in the footages with natural BG sounds + the shaky camera work + the distorting of the video when something creepy is about to happen makes FF horror one of its own kind.

MARBLE HORNETS is the epitome of FF horrors. It consists of 87 highly disturbing/creepy/terrifying footages from tapes used to showcase us a story where a crew gets sucked in by the curse of Slender Man only to make them forget what was happening which makes Jay and Tim watch early footages to recall what exactly had happened and in the process how things get worser and worser as we reach the climax.

The series moves at a slow pace but if you are a fan of such footage horror, you will be drawn in to watch the rest. It is compiled in a non linear fashion so it will definitely leave you confused often as to which timeline you are in but do not worry, answers lay ahead so be patient.

Many of the tapes are so disturbing/terrifying that you wont get a sleep at night. The climax is absolutely insane watch out for that. Would recommend you to watch this series in one particular setup - 1. Late night time 2. Silent environment 3. Lights turned off. Thank me later.

Slender Man is the horror figure who finally came to popularity with this series . Just his presence and the footage glitching out in his presence makes the experience super terrifying.

Negatives - gets a bit too redundant towards the end. To the point that it may not creep you anymore.

Still, i would say MARBLE HORNETS is one of the best take on FF horror. It is a treat for horror lovers and an absolute memorable ride for FF horror lovers.

Bloody Brothers (2022– )

Suspense thriller made for kids
24 March 2022
And by kids, i mean the ones who have never seen a suspense thriller before ever.

Bloody brothers (2022) is probably the most predictable suspense film i have ever seen with the beans getting spilled for me half way through. From a long distance , I could easily predict what had happened on the accident night.

On top of that, there is no thrill at all. In fact, it feels more of a suspense series mixed with humor which equally feels foolish. Most parts feel like a yawn fest.

However, i do give it a saving 3 stars cuz things get a little spiced up towards the end but its ulimately not enough for me to wait for another season. 1 extra star cuz i liked the BGM.

Overall, you can skip this. There are suspense series better than this in Bollywood available.

Only the last two episodes shine!
19 February 2022
The entire series is extremely poorly written. The problem is, it reveals secrets way too quickly which kills the series before the 7th episode. Had they managed to keep the suspense intact, this series would have been a gem. All you see in the 1st 4 episodes is shades of "Gehraayian" .

Whatever suspense is not revealed instantly is also super predictable. You know whats coming so why have to bear through 3-4 more episodes to reach the climax, just skip to the 7th episode.

Why i am saying this is ..the drama that unfolds at the end is actually genuinely watchable and you feel for the victims. We have often seen articles or books that tend to unintentionally hurt someone and that can cost lives .

Performance wise, Shruti hassan takes time to shine ultimately. Mithun plays that funny-cum-serious CID officer and he's good too. Rest all are average.

Watch this , if you havent watched any good thriller before. If you have watched intelligent thriller, stay away.

Rocket Boys (2022– )

Makes you proud without hyper-nationalism
5 February 2022
This series is going to be a treat for those who love science or have been following india's developement in the field of science. You know very well what this series or rather, whom this series is based upon so let me jump to the positive points:-

1. Good detailing. The makers have done a pretty good amount of research for this series. There would be many terms or even organizations that todays gen may not be aware of like ATIRA or ISCOPAR etc and will force you to keenly google them up.

2. The performance by Jim Sarbh and Ishwak singh is top class. Many might question why Ishwak singh's Vikram doesnt age at all with time . The fact is Sarabhai really looked young even at later stages of his life. Jim Sarbh as Homi Bhaba is one step further. His charm and subtle humor that his character possesses is a treat to watch.

3. Brings out the feelings of Patriotism without patriotic dialogues or hyper-nationalism. Just their efforts into making a rocket or even the atomic research center is shown so well that when they finally achieve success, it automatically brings the sense of pride for your country in your heart.

4. Addition of 35 mm reels from the 1950s is another masterstroke. Good detailing has also gone into the sets making sure we are aware in which time we are.

5. A bit of dramatization has been done and i accept it. We see evil men going behind Homi trying to bring him down all these things may not be real and are commercialized (or who knows if it was real) but i honestly had no complains as it made the series more interesting to watch.

However, there are some negatives:-

1. It is ok to show the personal lives of the two scientists but for literally 5 episodes? Their love lives are given meaty screen space and that dissapointed me as the series could have focussed more on science rather than love. The love angle could have been chopped off a bit.

2. An illogical scene where Homi literally dives into a swimming pool reactor only to emerge absolutely dry.

3. The fact that towards the end , they didnt really focus on how Sarabhai made the rocket rather they focus more on Homi.

Overall , a must watch series. Definitely not for "Pushpa" audience so choose wisely and you wont be dissapointed. One thing you will realize that Homi was more like a "Netaji Shubash" while Sarabhai had more of a "Mahatma Gandhi" kind of mindet.

Rarely do we see a fairy tale like series.
1 February 2022
The kind of series that 2020-21 Aus vs ind test series was, it was like someone had literally written a blockbuster fairy tale script for it. Injuries, nightmare 1st test, body blows, racial abuse, losing your loved ones back home still bowling in Aus, underdogs, facing goliaths of cricket, still winning at the end....you see all the elements you see in a commercial blockbuster thriller like fairy tale are there in this series.

The series was such, it could even leave behind the memories of the 83 WC underdog story but then WC is another next level story but you know winning in Aus against Aus in tests has always been classified as WC level achievement. I dont think any series for india till date has such twisted, emotional and inspiring tale written in it .

What makes this particular documentary interesting to watch is the BGM, the interesting analysis and talks by experts on the conditions during that series , the way they describe the underdogs like Natarajan, Thakur for example, who had to fight their way into the test team and still making a massive impact. Siraj's story is sure to pull at your heart. He is a man of inspiration. His 5 wkt haul at Gabba and then raising the ball towards the sky dedicating it to his late father brings tears to your eyes. Pujji no matter how bad his form maybe of late, will always be remembered for his heroic stand he took at gabba taking body wounds from balls like bullets and yet making a 50. There are many such sub stories that make up this fairy tale.

Today's youth in 20s who are cricket fans have got a perfect tale of cricket to narrate to their future gens just like our dads would narrate stories of the 83 wc. Watch this show its extremely well made i would say. Keep it in safe for the future gens to watch as well.

36 Farmhouse (2022)

Stopped midway, boring as hell! Zee5 when will you learn!
23 January 2022
If Indians think that Netflix is the dumping ground for bad Bollywood films then tell them that there is a platform called Zee5 that is its daddy in having all trash hindi content. I can barely name one hindi film that is available on Zee5 that is even barely worth watching and 36 Farmhouse is just an addition to that elite trash list in Zee5.

No I mean seriously what was going on in this film? What is it's genre? A thriller? A situational comedy? Romance? What? If its all 3 then this film fails in all of them. Neither is the film tense nor is it even barely funny. In fact it is so boring that at one point you seriously question, why did i even sign up for this film? Just because i saw some top level actors in it? Maybe that is the reason but other than that, a family property related story that has been given a complete done-to-death treatment.

Shubhash Ghai is the writer of this film although it is directed by some other dude. Shubhash Ghai, the legend of the 80s-90s has not learnt to adapt with changing times. He still thinks this dated plot with an equally dated boring treatment will work in 2022. The fact that there is always a thundering noise whenever Vijay Raaz shouts or there is a shocking revelation gives it that indian serial like feeling. Shubash Ghai should stop/writing films until he understands what new gen audience need.

Performances need no elaboration. Everyone is wasted.

Overall, just stay away from this film. Absolute waste of time. Zee5 should hire a better team for reviewing these films before adding them in their collection, you see platforms like Sonyliv, Prime are doing far better atleast they have quite a number of hindi/non-hindi shows/films that are memorable but Zee5? Not one, or maybe just 1 or 2. No matter that their subscription prices too are low just 500rs that too they sometimes give discount to desperately sell their subscription cuz even they know noone is gonna buy their subs as there is nothing worthy to watch.

Human (2022– )

My goodness Shefali...My goodness!
15 January 2022
First of all, , internet doctors, please dont go into post-mortem mode to find inaccuracies in these shows they are solely made for entertainment purpose and is not a documentary that you are looking for accuracies. Please for love of god, read the disclaimer that makers put an effort to write at the beginning of the show where they clearly mention "This show is a work of fiction solely for entertainment."

This show completely belongs to Shefali Shah, who plays a pyscho doctor. My goodness you must witness her performance. Haunting and Terrifying! At times, her character literally sends shivers down your spine while most of times she successfully brings out the anger out of the audience. This has got to be the toughest character she has ever played in her career. Her character is not a simple one, rather a complex mix of varying emotions, mostly negative ones.

The story is not only about the wrong human trials of drugs, but also deals with human poverty, human emotions, human relations, human trauma and what not, hence the series is named "HUMAN". This series belongs to a very small category of audience that have the patience to digest slow burners so if you see anyone saying it is boring, probably they are those masala lovers so you just ignore them. Believe me, the series is quite a complicated one as more and more weird and complex characters find their way in. So, if you are a fan of slow complicated interesting films, this series is for you and you will get to witness a lot of different stuff related to a "Human".

Other than Shefali, the other stand out performer is undoubtedly Vishal Jethwa, the dude we last saw in a terrific performance in Mardaani 2. Here, he gets much more screen space to display his talent and boy does he excel like anything. He shows a wide range of emotions from being happy to raging to breaking down in emotional scenes to his helplessness in situations due to his financial condition, this boy literally steals everyone's heart. If Shefali excelled from the negative side, Vishal excels like anything from the positive side. Not only him, his family consisting of his sister and father played by Sudhanshu Pandey also excel. This boy should get more chances.

Kriti Kulhari is just too ordinary. Her role itself is not anything as special as the other two i mentioned. Seema Biswas, oh how could i forget her. The 2nd most haunting performance after Shefali comes from her. She is just too good. She and her screen time with the girl named Deepali (she is too cute :)) towards the end were some highlights.

The climax is a mix of tragedy and happy ending. Trust me, the satisfaction you get from the happy ending is 100x larger than the heartbreak from the tragedy. In fact, i was hardly heartbroken actually from the tragedy but the happy ending, it filled my heart with joy and satisfaction.

Negatives - yes definitely there. Dealing with so many topics in one series kinda makes the execution falter at several places. The LGBTQ angle was absolutely unnecessary as it adds nothing to the main plots rather it creates a subplot of its own that only increases the length of this series unnecessarily. Could have been wrapped up in 8 episodes. The bhopal Gas tragedy scene in ep6 is incorrectly represented and the makers happily chose to ignore the fact that in 1984, today's rajdhani express coaches were not there xD. Indra Chakrabrorty as Neil is wasted.

Watch this series but dont expect it to be a regular straightforward series. Choose wisely, it is slow paced but worth your time.

Velle (2021)

Staring at the wall is better than watching this trash!
12 January 2022
God only knows how IMDB has so many positive reviews for this film. Probably PR? Is this a comedy drama film? It is a black spot on comedy drama films.

For comedy, you need good funny dialogues. When a film heavily relies on comical music , it is not good signs and VELLE is the best example. Not a single dialogue is funny. Believe me, I even laughed quite a lot at a much bashed film "Hello Charlie" but not in this film even once. It almost feels like a 5th class student wrote the dialogues. On top of that the story too is nothing too great to be invested in.

What is Abhay Deol doing in this film, he has very little to do. He is wasted. Karan Deol, I am sorry, comedy does not suit this guy nor is his comic timing anything good. Others are just so average.

Lots of songs in the film. Personally like "Uddne do" song but the rest are just so-so. Overall, please dont get fooled by the high IMDB ratings, in India as you know, IMDB is next to useless as people give biased reviews and this film is no different. You have far better films like 83, Atrangi re etc that have lower IMDB ratings than this VELLE but they are much better .

Shocking, twisted, suspense!
10 January 2022
Anni Dewan's murder case in South Africa which occured in 2010-2014 time is probably one of the most twisted and shocking case I have ever witnessed thanks to discovery+ for bringing it on screen.

The case just moves like a shuttle cock from one court to another leaving viewers's brainstorming till the end as to who could be responsible for it and at the end leaves us shell shocked!

Its almost like a "Trust noone" case. You dont know who is lying till date and who is speaking truth but at the end of all this entire commotion, it is ultimately the Hindocha family that is severely affected , you will know why if you even read it on Wikipedia but i would suggest dont, instead watch this documentary to find out what might happen at the end so that the interest in this case for you stays.

Decoupled (2021– )
8/10
Extremely Restricted Audience show!
4 January 2022
First lets start with the disappointment. What's with Netflix needing to make shows in English completely? I see Netflix feels its audience is mostly the high class rich english educated people so they proceed to make a show sponsered by them (cuz of Netflix's reference everywhere) almost fully in English with a little Hindi here and there. If you are making shows for India, make them in Hindi or local languages. 1 star gone for that.

Now lets come to the content. DECOUPLED would appear as if it is focused mainly on the divorce of Arya and Shruti but NO! This topic actually takes a back stage thanks to a lot of other topics and discussions coming in the way. This show feels it tries to focus on very hilarious, weird and uncomfortable questions about human traits and society through Arya, the man who literally creates trouble for him wherever he goes simply because of the weird uncomfortable questions he tends to ask starting from him asking a soldier at the airport gate that "You arent even a soldier you are just checking tickets right?" and everyone gets angry with that.

All these uncomfortable weird questions about society and human traits and personality makes this show watchable for only a very very very small set of audience. And believe me, if you dont get offended anywhere and treat them as genuine questions, believe me, you are in for an absolute roller coaster ride of laughter!!!!

Yes!!! DECOUPLED is highly enjoyable and binge worthy if you can take Arya's questions and statements as something to think about stuff. There are several moments in this show that are soo hilarious and "seeti-maar" type. Example - "In a planet day society event, everyone is asked to dress up like Greta (the environmentalist i hope you know) and switch off their home lights for an hour. Arya however is unaware hence when the lights are turned off , he casually walks in and turns them on!! To this...Dr. Basu says "For every Greta, there is always a Trump" LMAO!! I laughed and whistled so hard at this scene.

There is also a reference to Parasite film in this series and lo...this series itself has moments that might remind you of that movie , the scenes with Ganesh are the ones. Every episode is so enjoyable and short that DECOUPLED becomes an easy entertaining binge watch.

R. Madhavan as Arya is actually a more complicated and weird "Rancho" from 3 idiots in this series. He does exactly what Rancho did but he takes it 10 steps ahead, ask weird questions and make weird , uncomfortable yet things to ponder about statements. He literally is in top form making us chuckle everytime he is in the scene, completely overshadowing surveen chawla (Shruti).

In an attempt to be a show that tries to ask too many uncomfortable questions, i feel it sometimes crosses its limits especially in that Muslim man scene. I mean I genuinely felt "These scenes are too much and should not have been greenlit"!

So, remember, DECOUPLED is that kind of series which, if you show it to the "Aam-janta" of India, probably you will be beaten up with sticks and stones but then, it can be watched by highly western oriented mindset audience , which probably one can find in Netflix only. If you are one of them, you are gonna have an absolute blast of laughter and fun . Oh ya one more thing, Chetan Bhagat is wasted in this series as the rival writer.

PS - Boys might enjoy it a bit more * insert winking emoji *

Jolly LLB (2013)
9/10
Justice served in an entertaining way!
3 January 2022
Movies based on courtroom drama dealing with serious topics are always serious and grim in tone. Not with Jolly LLB and this is what makes it a standout amongst other courtroom dramas.

I watched this film back in 2013 itself but then that time i was kinda least interested in actually watching it but then while flying an aeroplane, i happened to bump into this cinema in the in-flight entertainment and since this was the only known unwatched film that was available in the catalogue, i decided to watch it reluctantly and boy did i come out of the cinema thoroughly satisfied and entertained.

The film tells us the case of hit and run (Back in 2013 also we knew who it refers to :)...) in a humor filled way thanks to our man Jagdeesh Tyagi aka Jolly and the judge played by Saurabh Shukla and the hilarious arguments between them.

Besides that, it does tell us how power can try to stop weaker guys from fighting a legal case. It is also filled with serious moments which come towards the end hence Shubhash Kapoor has done a brilliant job in maintaining a perfect balance between the two tones of the film, not making it too hilarious , nor too serious so that the entertainment purpose doesnt go down and of course courtroom dramas are never meant to be hilarious and the makers have done a fine job in making sure a serious topic is dealt well keeping the humor light and only kicks in when needed.

Arshad Warsi is a gem of an actor whose talent has been wasted in Bollywood due to poor script selection but Jolly LLb is luckily not one of them. In just one film he proves he can excel in comedy and also excel in the serious moments (talking of serious character, the latest series Asur is the best example of his great performance). Even an Akshay from Jolly LLB 2 cant match up to Arshad in comic timing and thats one reason the 1st part is loved more than the 2nd one. Saurabh Shukla is just too good his comic timing is just too enjoyable. Boman Irani too has done a good job.

Last but not the least, Jolly LLb has some really good dialogues including the one monologue that became the Monologue of the decade starting with " Kaun hai ye log, kaha se ate hai ye log?". This monologue was delivered so well it really pulled at my heart and also won millions of hearts over the internet.

Give it a watch if you havent till date.

Painfully boring!
1 January 2022
What if this film is almost 15 years old? I can pinpoint several thrillers from 2005, watch it today and still find them superb , but not this one.

The plot itself is so stupid and hilarious, topped with extremely boring execution that it failed to hold on to my attention in the 2nd half where things started to get so stupid. You have an actress who is happy to change her clothes right in front of Irrfan while Irrfan takes moments to perve on her. Cant tolerate such things for a late actor.

You cannot complain about the camera work and quality stuff as it is some 15 years old film. The only reason to watch this is Irrfan Khan as we get to see him in the retro 2000s look but then the entire film does no justice to him.

On top of that there is a stupid explanation to how Akanksha and the dead lady looked absolute copies of each other which made me go ROFL rather than be shocked , believe me it is no Plastic surgery or something, it is something girls put up everytime they go for parties and that, changed a completely different looking lady to look like Akanksha.

Why did even Lucky Ali have to do this film where is has nothing to do other than just change his outfits like Ranveer Singh? He is beautifully wasted .

Last but not the least who even came up with this lame title? Murder at Teesri Manzil 302???? I mean during my school days i used to give such lame titles to my essays when i could not think of some striking title.

Watch only if you want to see Irrfan one last time, but i would suggest dont. He has done several better films, watch them and relive his magical performance there, not in this stupid film.

Cockpit (2017)

Honest attempt with horrendous VFX!
31 December 2021
I mean you can easily see the director has put some effort into writing this story. Dev's character seems a bit complicated with his relationships.

However, the film miserably fails in the VFX department and it is pretty understood cuz budget is low but then such horrible !! The climax is where the VFX and everything falls apart. For almost 4 mins, you can see the plane just hanging over the runway at one place while from cockpit veiw you can see the plane is actually moving forward. Sometimes at the beginning the plane seems to be moving from outside but then from inside veiw it seems to be not moving at all!! Not only the VFX is bad, its logic too goes for a toss.

Still I would give 6 stars for the honest attempt.

'83 (2021)

An experience not to forget!
26 December 2021
So after showing two middle fingers to the #boycott83 trend, I went with my family to watch 83, knowing what would come but then it is that kind of film meant to relive that magical moment on 25th June, 1983.

Simple, straightforward film which does not delve into anything unneccesary or out of context to showcase the events of the 1983 world cup but what it did show extremely well is the condition of the Indian cricket team at that time - from return tickets confirmed before SF to having no money to pay for laundry, there are several moments to showcase that.

The film mainly has more focus on the WI team as the opponent as ofc they were the Goliaths that time (currently feel sorry for them the can easily be beaten even by Ireland maybe). Using slow mos they have showcased the deadly bouncers of WI bowlers pretty well especially when Dilip gets wrecked by their bowling.

The film also does a good job by integrating real life footages and pics within the flow of the film that give you a feel of watching a documentary. Finally at the end, my eyes were tearful watching the team celebrate with some good music playing in the background. It was then i realized that 2hr 43mins had gone past swiftly and that i had a great experience.

Performances and Prosthetics - Ranveer has done a good job, his talking style is similar to Kapil dev but i feel Kapil's face was bit more bulkier than what Ranveer has. The show stealers are Amy Virk and Jiva. Jiva as K. Srikanth with his hilarious moments with the team is a treat to watch. Amy Virk's inablity to undertand and talk proper english makes it a hilarious watch. It is however Pankaj Tripathi as Man Singh's prosthetics that looks spot on .

Overall, this is a film that you would definitely know what has happen so its all about the experience and the happiness to relive it once more. If you dont know the results of group stage matches, I strongly recommend you not to google up the results , in that case the match results would also remain a suspense to you (except the final).

Outright Bad!
26 December 2021
I just cannot get over the artificial way in which the actors deliver their dialogues and some dialogues are so cringy that it makes you facepalm literally. Story is going nowhere only most of times the ladies are in kinky dresses and speaking of nothing except money money and only money. Sometimes there are poorly shot race sequences that seem to play in 2x speed, a police officer instead of grilling Neil to reveal the secrets simply lets him go and gives his card saying "Contact me if you get info about them (Neil's team)" as if he would do and then poof! The police angle dissapears completely. Songs every now and then and so poorly edited scenes. Climax is like wtf and I did not even understand it even after rewatching it thrice its that lame.

No wonder even Vikrant Massey knew it was a bad film hence never bothered to even mention in 2021 that some film of his named "Switchh" is releasing.

Quite a laughter show!
23 December 2021
Initially the film begins well and continues for a long time consistently. The comedy literally kept my ribs ticking especially when Govinda opens the door to two girls and when one says "Hi! Myself Honey" and the irritated Govinda replies "To kya chaatu?" made me go ROFL! However, when the house gets too populated with a lot of members, the comedy faded away.

Interesting yet highly flawed!
21 December 2021
This show is definitely a must watch for those who want to know what exactly a "Whistleblower" is and how the Vyapam scam happened in Madhya Pradesh.

The series is undoubtedly quite interesting thanks to an interesting topic and an interesting and medium to fast paced screenplay. Next good thing is the performance. Ritwik Bhowmik and Ravi Kishan are the highlights of this show. Others too have done a fair job. A good BGM also helps elevate the interest of this show.

However, this series is not perfect as it is filled with numerous flaws.

1. Tends to unnecessarily drag towards the end.

2. The drag is further helped by the presence of an unnecessary love angle.

3. Witnesses get killed and we only see a glimpse of it. A full sequence showing how they get killed would have been better.

4. Not the best in detailing as compared to Scam 1992.

5. A somewhat weak 2nd half of the series

6. Last but not the least, weird half hearted narration in the background with very ordinary dialogues. Also, quite some episodes cut off to the next at abrupt points that are not highs (I mean to say episodes should end at points that leave viewers desperate for the next one).

Overall, an easily bingeworthy series thanks to an interesting plot and screenplay but get ready to come across some easily visible flaws.

Unpopular opinion! Its actually a TROLL film
17 December 2021
I personally find this film quite enjoyable especially on a lazy sunday afternoon when it airs on star gold. I can agree this is not a film you would have liked to spend your money on to watch it in theatres when it released 11 years ago but still i find it quite hilarious.

Yes there is no logic sense anything. In fact, this film feels more like a troll movie , kind of short videos you see nowadays youtubers make regarding trolling someone, so i feel Farah Khan intended to take a dig at oscar films. In fact, many got offended by this film solely because it shows indian villagers as mere fools. Those days the concept of troll was not well known amongst Indians and hence they took such films seriously and got offended.

If you can keep aside your critical viewing eyes like I do everytime i watch it and treat the film as a mere troll film, you will enjoy it quite a lot from moments like --> 1. Confusing Danny Boyle for Danny Danzongpa 2. Akshaye Khanna and Akshay Kumar's interactions were hilarious especially his constant assurance that he will get an Oscar and literally the Jai Ho tune starts to play 3. That milk like white guy who is told to chew a gum making him look like he is speaking constantly cracks me up.

Overall, this is my personal veiw, not affected by anyone's negative review or anything. I can still watch this film a 1000 times as it is much funnier than the crap hamming like comedies that come out these days.

Whats the point?.....
9 December 2021
Whats the point in making the remake of a film that is already available in hindi dubbing on youtubr for free and knowing what the twist is. Personally, i didnt watch the entire RX100 but skipped to the climax just to see what might happen there and that was my biggest mistake! The twist got revealed exactly at that point and now i knew what would come in Tadap so that excitement to know what might happen to Ishana (whose name sounds like a girl) and Ramisa's relation is gone!

Still, i watched it to see how Ahan performs and what exactly happens in the entire film.

In the 1st half, i literally dozed off. On top of that, the guy named LOL (Ishana's friend) is sooo unLOL that he makes your skin crawl with irritation each time he cracks a lame joke.

The 2nd half is where it kind of takes off and gets interesting but again, whats the point? You know whats coming so there is hardly any interest in watching hence i skip-skip to the end. However, i didnt miss the point where I wanted to know why Ramisa did what she does to Ishana. I knew what she does, but i didnt know why she does that.

Ahan Shetty is in full Kabir Singh mode here and he is pretty decent. I cannot imagine Tara Sutaria in a role like this, she's so sweet and beautiful like Barbie doll....would have imagined someone like a Kangana do that role and it would feel justified but Tara, no! The guy who plays LOL is so bad!! Kumud and Saurabh are decent too.

Coming to songs, there is one song they have made better than RX100 and one inferior . TERE SIVA JAG is a very underwhelming song that portrays the love between Ahan and Tara but in the original that song was "Adire Hrudayam" and my god is that song so lusty and steamy , perfectly portrays the lusty love of the female lead over the male. It is however "Tum se bhi zyada" that is shot better than the original with contrasting scenes showcased as Ramisa gets mehendi on her hands and in contrast Ishana at the same time, gets blood in his hand as he is beaten up.

Overall, this film is average. There is no point in watching this film if you have seen the original. Watch only if you havent and i suggest you watch the original, same story but free of cost.

The Salman Khan we want!
27 November 2021
Directors like Remo and Prabhu literally were on course to destroy Salman's career but finally he has given chance to a much better director and this is the result.

Antim, a gangster drama, as a whole may not be the best film, or anything new, but it was quite an interesting watch. The first half was quite fast paced and interesting but the 2nd half felt like a real drag! Still it revives itself in the final climax which seemed quite good with that adrenaline pumping BGM by Ravi Basrur.

This is a rare film where Salman is demoted to a secondary role. If you follow entertainment page, you will know Salman was quite uninterested in doing this film solely because of this secondary kinda role. Still his performance is not over the top. After ages, after Bajrangi Bhaijaan, i am seeing SK where he is so grounded and trying nothing too over the top. Even in his dialogue delivery he is quite low in tone mostly and not shouting and giving some cringy dialogues like in that Radhe disaster. SK should do more of these kind of roles to reduce is hate base.

Aayush sharma is the main lead and honestly speaking, he looked quite decent but still needs quite some improvements. He felt average in emotional scenes but in the wicked scenes, he was exhilarating.

Mahima Makwana and her father, the director himself, initally reminded me of Sonakshi's role from Dabangg, a village girl having a drunk father. Mahima looks so hot but cant say much about her performance.

Sachin Khedkar is good and Upendra is amazing in his short role. Upendra in Mulshi Pattern was the police and here his the gangster.

The BGM surely elevates the level of the action sequences and the action scenes definitely this time are not over the top, proper hand to hand combats and gun fights.

Overall, a film which i would rate 6 stars but as I am seeing such a decent SK film after a long time, i give it 2 bonus stars.
