Pyaar Impossible! (2010)
10 on 10
Like the song said, it could be a ten on ten, but from Bollywood/YRF pov may be it is. I haven't witnessed it since its released. After so many years I remembered the title song and thus the other songs came into my recognition and what album it was. It's banger westernized album brought me into the movie and yes I have found it impressive. The songs were so situational if you notice and Salim Sulaiman has done great job here. Pyaar impossible and it's remix version, Alisha, 10 on 10 all were so catchy and classy. Sadly we don't witness such songs now, that era was different.
As per my expectations, the movie turned out to be wonderful. Uday did a great job, I was not expecting that, he perfectly fitted in the role and found him so comfortable and compelling. Priyanka is yaar, give her a village role or a wild role, she fits in everywhere. Her dressings and english accent is really commendable. She has a different classy charm which very less actresses have in bollywood. Dino as a villain was decent. Also that little girl impressed me later.
Some fresh dialogues were,"shut the front door", "wwwdotwayovermyheaddotcom" and so on...
So I found the movie fantastic, the dialogues were fresh, well written and situational and the story was also little impressive that came out from yrf. Last half an hour was so bollywood btw, they always have to give a happy ending and for that the way they pull the things together to give it a happy ending that's awful and 'impossible'. So it was not that bad, there were moments in the movie where it wins your heart, don't go with the ratings and other reviews, the movie is really sweet.
Adipurush (2023)
Movie of the year
1. VFX ISSUES:
- poor motion tracking: in moving shots, characters' feet and ground interaction don't match.
- characters' shadows missing in many shots, if many characters appear in a single frame specially the baanar sena, they put shadows only on the highlighted ones in that particular shot and rest of them don't get any shadows.
- in the fight sequence between Bali and Sugreev, in a scene when Sugreev flies through the camera, his hair gets disappeared and you'll see a bald sugreev in 2-3 frames for a micro second.
- jittery animation and frame drops spotted.
- lack of effort in building Ayodhya, some parts shown in b&w and other parts(at ending) shown only through images.
- when real characters appear, their body edges look unnatural, sometimes look sharp edges & sometimes you'll easily notice the badly done chroma removal.
- building, textures, overall the environment done in 3D modelling was very poor.
- you'll hardly find a photorealistic shot.
2. POOR DIRECTION - Om Raut 🙏
3. FAST EDITS:
- important and heroic scenes have been shown in a very lesser time
- spotted black margins around characters in 3D effect.
5. DIALOGUES & DIALOGUE DELIVERY- dialogues do not seem fair, both in terms of written and delivery. As their dialogues were written in such a tapori way and as they deliver them, you will not feel the characters belong to an ancient era.
Suspended Inspector Boro (2018)
Watched it on ReelDrama today Probably Kenny Da's best product after local kung fu part 1 and also technically much improved.
- Direction: So I think Kenny Da's most mature direction we witness here, comparatively. Otherwise he's films have more fun than the plot (no offense to his other films, we really had enjoyed his each and every film he has directed) but here he did really well with the script. As an investigation action thriller, he really had justified the film, keeping the movie believable with the atmosphere and no using of music in some scenes really helps in balancing the movie's tone.
- Comedy: if we talk about comedy department then I think it's the main engaging element of the movie. Here, Kenny da and team come with their classic comedy with brilliant dialogues and makes the investigation more fun to witness.
- Story and dialogues: a decent and well written storyline which an action movie basically demands. So it has that, found it believable and more importantly the dialogues are just wowww; genuine, creative punchlines you need in a scene and they deliver it with beyond expectations.
- Action: which is the main genre and usp of the movie. By far we haven't witness such action in assamese films with trained martial artists/actors and it is really satisfying to see their smooth moves. Moreover, I personally like the way goons come to defeat the protagonist and get defeated instead; and use to come continuously levelwise one by one which we haven't notice anything before in this industry, simply it follows the fighting pattern like Ong bak, Baaghi where levelwise enemies get defeated one by one.
