Wolf (2017)
Australian film which does not disappoint
Not sure what others didn't get about this film....
Nice slow burn, quirky characters, conversations awkward enough to make you uncomfortable. Dark settings to put you on edge and an ending to make you question and wish for an extra five minutes. Even the crappy cars used had us talking.
I love Australian films, they are not your typical horror action films which give them, in my opinion, a raw reality. Not in the same grade as Australian films such as "Lake Mungo" which I find to be the most terrifying film I have ever watched (for reasons that may not be obvious or different to some people) but this film will have me thinking for a few days.
Persuasion (2022)
What were they thinking?!
Take the main character of the book and completely change her personality and behaviour....why?! What a disgraceful take on an such an incredible piece of literature. Richard E Grant was written in perfectly as the father but I have nothing positive to say on the rest of the character portrayals. So many things in this adaptation seem ridiculous.
If you are not acquainted with this novel or previous adaptations please don't stop at this film, please watch the others or read the novel, you won't be disappointed.
The rabbit gets a 10/10 from me.
Love You Like That (2021)
What the hell am I watching?!
I am a HUGE fan of Australian movies but this is awful! Only interesting character is Emily which is decently acted by Steph Tisdell. The storyline is boring and disjointed. I can't believe I paid to watch this.
Seeing the positive reviews I am wondering if they were all done by family and friends of the cast.
Murder on the Cape (2017)
I will remember this film for the rest of my life.....
For how bloody awful it was!
Did they find random locals to play the various parts? Were they reading the script for the first time in front of the camera?
What was the film budget? I am think $481.10 which covered everyone's packed lunch for a week.
