What's up with all the hate?
If you are a fan of old Clint Eastwood movies, you'll probably like this series. Sure, it can be corny at times, but it's still entertaining. Not every show can be Oscar worthy. All the venom spewing at the granddaughter character wreaks of racism!! She is not any worse than any of the other characters. She was able to cry while acting in a variety of scenes which can't be easy. The hate in these reviews towards her is really over the top, so it is not just about her acting! The grandfather is a very exceptional actor though, and is perfect for this role. I enjoyed the little mix of comedy in with the drama.
Big Sky (2020)
First season was good
I really like the first season, but the second season is a bore. I wanted to show to be Successful because I really like Katherine Winnick. I also can't get over that her business partner's love interest Looks two decades older than her! It's creepy! He even looks older than her dad when he finally meets him.
The Family Law (2016)
Surprisingly entertaining!
Stumbled across this refreshing & hilarious show, and initially thought it might be a rip off of fresh off the boat. I ended up enjoying it thoroughly, and believe it is even better than fresh off the boat in many ways. This show felt more authentic, maybe because it is scripted from the real life Benjamin Law. (FOTB was based on a real person for only the first season). Loved the characters and dialogue!
The Underground Railroad (2021)
Very frustrating!
Very frustrating! I gave this three stars because I was only able to watch through three episodes. I really wanted to like this series because I thought it would be similar to the classic Roots series, But unfortunately it is nowhere near that. It is so slow moving, yet very confusing. It's hard to follow the storyline because they keep switching characters and having random flashbacks. The acting is excellent but the script and directing are lacking focus. Sometimes there is just a blank black screen for several minutes and you have no idea what is going on. Originally I thought it was the device I was streaming on, but it looks like other reviewers had that same problem and it wasn't just once. The Director also unnecessarily lingered on really Morbid scenes. Overall, not worth watching. Sadly, it had so much potential for greatness.
The Voyeurs (2021)
Is this a joke?!?
Couldn't make it past 30 minutes into the movie because of the main actor, Justice Smith's voice. I looked him up to figure out if he was deaf or from a foreign country trying to do a bad American accent , but I think it's just bad acting. Don't know how he could've landed the job! He sounds like he has a mouthful of food in his mouth while mumbling through his lines. Unbearable!!
Warrior (2019)
Highly recommended for Wild West lovers
As a native San Franciscan who grew up watching Spaghetti Westerns, I love this show! Fabulous art direction & character development. It's a blend of the old Kung Fu series, Deadwood, and Peaky Blinders. I'm glad Bruce Lee's daughter was able to produce his show/writings and give him credit for it! Looking forward to season 3!
I'm Your Woman (2020)
Gave up half way
I tried very hard to be patient, hoping that it would get better, but gave up. This movie is like nails on a chalkboard. The acting is terrific but the script, plot, and art direction is so drawn out and repetitive! Two-thirds of the audio is the baby wailing which just gives the viewer a headache!
The Royal House of Windsor (2017)
Propaganda for Charles
I was shocked at how they blatantly try to twist Diana's legacy to portray her as mentally troubled before marriage , without barely mentioning his ongoing affair and how he was childishly jealous of his own wife. It actually blames Diana for the affair -even though his affair with Camilla started way before he and Diana had even met! Don't waste your time watching this nonsense!
Bulge Bracket (2020)
Watch it for yourself!
I really enjoyed watching this series! Don't be dissuaded by the negative reviews. It can be corny sometimes, but come on...it's comedy! It's similar to the Office & Silicon Valley on a smaller budget. I wish the season was longer, and I hope they have a season 2!
