Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)

Waste of such potential

This movie clearly had access to ample funds, evident from the numerous stunning locations and impressive visual effects (although the use of slow-motion appears somewhat outdated). It introduces potentially interesting characters, races, and planets, offering viewers a glimpse of its visual brilliance.

However, the movie falls short in terms of storytelling. The characters come across as overly simplistic, primitive, and unengaging. The dialogue lacks depth and sophistication, often feeling overly straightforward. Also, we have seen this plot many, many, many other times. Why on earth would you do this basic plot again in a completely new universe?

It is also feels like there were not enough time to show characters or develop them somehow. Mostly you get half minute preview and that's it, no backstory or any depth and they already in the team.

I would eagerly anticipate a second installment with a fresh narrative team, as the current movie struggles to engage the audience beyond its captivating visuals. It falls short in delivering a compelling story.

The whole premise of this movie is ambitious and certainly have potential, but it is not delivered well.

A Murder at the End of the World (2023)

Great cinematography, extremely poor writing

This series boasts exceptional cinematography and a compelling musical score, complemented by commendable acting performances. However, the narrative's sluggish tempo and unengaging storyline overshadow these merits.

Despite Emma Corrin's proven acting prowess, the role falls short of showcasing her full potential.

The supporting characters lack depth, contributing to an overall uninspired ensemble. The dialogues often come across as overly simplistic and foreseeable, detracting from the show's credibility.

It seems the show may be tailored for a Gen Z audience or younger, yet it misses the mark, resulting in a disappointing misuse of talent and resources.

The Ark (2023– )

Kinda not bad and getting better by each episode

I love science fiction, so I could not miss this show.

The first episode made me wonder if I wanted to continue to watch it. It was partially painful to watch and acting was bad. The one particular actress got me to really dislike her from the begging, luckily they dialled down her character in future episodes. The rest of the actors are good and characters are truly developing through episodes.

The stories are different each episode and not new, but somehow gripping and makes you to continue to watch this show.

Overall, not a bad show. Have interesting characters, strong main story and fast-pacing mini stories. I would definitely say the rating is too low for this.

Accused (2023– )

Had a good start

The first episode was gripping, interesting and kinda fresh. It did hook me on. Unfortunately the rest of the show, so far, is boring and predictable.

The third episode was a bit interesting as well. The stories are not new or original, the most of them we have seen in other shows and that it's weak spot.

From the point of acting, the show have some really good actors. Which does not make it any interesting to watch as writing do really lack. I would guess it is harder to put so much story into one episode, to truly make the story shine. But we have what we have.

I would say it us not worth watching, kinda mess at this point.

Mayfair Witches (2023– )

What is even happening?

I am not familiar with the books or stories. So I am solely rely on writers to deliver the story. Unfortunately, this did not happened. After watching whole season I am not sure what I have watched, what happened and who are the characters.

The storyline is messy, were not explained and rushed. Episode 1 was interesting, the rest was like really strange journey. Last episode is action-packed, really fast-paced and a bit of disgusting actually.

I dont have much to say about acting, because there was none. Characters were not explored or explained. There were strange actions with no thoughts behinds them. Rowan went from smart and strong woman to a little crazy girl literally in a minute, strange transition.

There were two things i liked about this show - it is how well it was shot and the music. The props and the atmosphere were there... the rest is a total mess.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022– )

Breathtakingly beautiful and empty

Well, the scenery is everything you can wish and more. Shot perfectly, amazing work on cgi department. I, personally, was rewatching Lindon scenes as they are looking stunning. The monster are incredibly done.

Story was intriguing at the begging, but gosh it developed so slow and tiresome. Please change all of your writing team! That show is unwatchable, each episode like a damn tortue.

The dialogues are written for 5 years old? Every conversation in this show is pointless, boring and way too long.

Most if the scenes have wrong timing, which just feels wrong. I literally forgot about this show after watching it, just an empty scenes.

Actors are actually are okay, but their characters are not being developed.

I watched whole season. I would not watch second season if it like this.

The Resort (2022– )

Very good

That is actually a good show. I didn't expect much starting it, but got totally addicted. The show have a good pace and beautiful location. It is very surprising story which I didn't expect, but really entertaining to watch.

The acting is very good, especially from lead actors. The cinematic is done incredible.
