Tiktiki (2022)
What was this?????
I usually do not post reviews but this series compelled me to . Pairing up two stalwarts without a bare minimum plot is basically keeping egg and flour together in a bowl and expecting the cake flour turn up by itself. It's bore and sordid and don't even get me started on story because there is none.
It wouldn't matter how they performed on a singular level since end product is beyond palatable. Please don't invest the hard earned weekend to watch this series.
I am a fan of both KG and AB but they must have signed on for this series either at gunpoint or being comatose.
AVOID !!!!!
Paap (2019)
Season 2 is wayyyy better !!
Hoichoi's recent offering for the Pandemic stricken Bangali bhodrolok is the much awaited Season 2 of Revenge Drama Paap.
Watch it for the stellar performance of Rahul - his portrayal of an insensitive bangali Police officer is nuanced and superlative. Also worth mentioning are Puja Banerjee , Bhaswar Chatterjee and Mithu Chakraborty.
The cinematography is pleasing to the eyes with some solid camera work. Although the flashback scenes are disturbing to watch , they elevate the Story to a different level. The young girl portraying a teen Parboni deserves a mention. I hope OTTs take notice of her.
Climax is the real Hero of this series although if you're a self crowned home sleuth who have grown up on a healthy dose of Agatha Christie , you might be able to guess it towards the beginning of the Last Episode. Enjoy it uninterrupted & if possible alone to soak in the thrill. 😁
Away (2020)
Pretty interesting for an imaginary Launch Mission.
I did not have high hopes to be honest, but being a sucker for Zero G genre , gave it a shot. I am not disappointed.
Let's get real - this is no Nolan Movie and we are no Astro - Physicists. I am purely watching it for entertainment and appreciate content that is relatable.
Human relationships are undeniably complex , throw in that mix Space Travel, emotional & physical challenges, fierce Astronauts of multiple nationalites - you have yourself a recipe for a boilerplate Blockbuster.
Hilary Swank, Mark Ivanir, Josh Charles, Vivian Wu are excellent and light up the screen with their presence. I particularly liked Talitha Bateman.
People criticizing the show over storyline - I doubt if they understand the concept of - the journey matters more than the destination. That finale moment really got me !!
Worth a watch - hell yeah 👍🏻
