The Broken News (2022– )
7/10
With Josh and Awaaz..
18 June 2022
The story is about highlighting the roller coaster life of any journalist and the threats they need to mend through, on a daily routine. The plot is based on three protagonists, who are successfull journalists.. with an absolute difference in belief and practice of profession from each other, tell a tale of the engagements they face daily in Josh 24X7 and Awaaz Bharti news channels.

It is needless to highlight and praise Jaideep Ahlawat as Dipankar Sanyal, as he happens to be a performer, one of the less in proportion, who has gained a concrete trust in a very short span and he delivers. The character of Dipankar Sanyal is absolute package of love, hate and thrill. You will get confused when to raise voice for and against him, when to stand beside him and when not to. Precisely, he is a complicated character.

Sonali Bendre as Ameena Qureshi, felt a bit overdone to me, it's completely a personal judgement on the dimension and perspective of mine.. but Sonali could have done better compared to the character she plays. Nothing special and could have been performed by any, probably with much more..who knows?! We have seen a few contemporary colleague of her's, who have returned in front of the camera much apart from what they used to do in their golden times, but they are back and delivering what needs and has set a benchmark. In that context, Sonali did a bit injustice to herself, I believe.

Shriya Pilgaonkar as Radha Bhargava, was straight to the point and did justice to the role given. You won't ask for more as there was nothing more you can question for and, she is one of those, who has emerged strong in the recent times and is deserved to gain the good attention.

The story of 'The Broken News' might be average to me but the performances, have took me to heights, especially Jaideep Ahlawat.. every praise of him seems so insufficient to me. And the songs... ofcourse were masterpiece itself!

Deeply thankful to the new wave of web media platforms, who are surely making 'talents meet success' along with 'justice to viewers', in their platform and we, the viewers, had the opportunity to see a thrust of promising and agile performers in the recent times. Took us away from that expensive but boring movie auditoriums with stereotypical bogus stories with zero content on the large screen, to economic digital devices with small screens but delivers variety of genre with a variety of dimensions to chose for and fit according to preference. We can relax and enjoy at our convenience too. There are such a huge variety of content rushing towards us that we fall short to keep a valid track on which to start with and which to complete without skipping. Yes, it's a mix of good and bad but, the ratio is far heavier on stories with good content and promising performance, which is the just the opposite in bollywood silver screen! So thanks for saving us with the new tide as we were badly stuck in a quicksand.

A film that teaches you so many things
9 April 2022
I was moved by this brilliant movie that has a strong message in the background which, also acts as a supreme support to this film. Education is, and can be the only weapon to change the world and its perspective.

I liked everything about this movie as a review of mine and alternatively proud to have seen it, even having some initial hesitations whether to watch or not. Every cast deserves applaud as, they certainly did what they were supposed to, portray characters in greatest possibilities. I would also thank the whole crew for providing opportunities to many talented youtubers who, if examined minutely, can prove to be better than any of the top tiers in the industry. I wish the leaders of my beautiful nation who are in the system, change their view towards education.

Thank You Team Dasvi for preparing on such a strong subject...the society needed a movie like this as an eye opener to many..Thank You for supporting pen instead of pain..you passed the examination pretty well..thanks.🙏🇮🇳

Disappointing thriller
21 March 2022
Was quite eager because of the brilliant cast but, it failed miserably in my views. Firstly, the story was very pale and lacked a proper grip to keep the viewers engaged. Secondly, motif of the murderer was a joke and if anything that could compete this joke was the blindness of the victim himself, who happens to be more immatured than someone with no maturity! They wanted to make a crime thriller but, they present us a ticklish comedy. In midst of all, Kaushik Ganguly's performance is all that will keep you admiring. 👎👎👎

Deep Water is deeply absurd and ridiculous
20 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Seriously felt weird and sorry both at the same time, for Vic. He has a very beautiful unfaithful wife, Melinda. Though of her unfaithfulness, she surprisingly escapes a divorce why..only because she can do some basic turn on's?? That's ridiculous! And who was paying the price of her unfaithfulness..yes, her fresh caught preys, c'mmon!

The story could have been fantastic, but thanks to the makers for having that adverse outcome in their mind. I must admit, if I was in Vic's place, I would have made out with her the other night and the very next morning would have placed that breakfast right beside her with a shiny paper of divorce..sweet revenge! All the stars goes to Ben Affleck and the beautiful Ana de Armas on my behalf.

An unreported tale of genocide in the paradise!!
13 March 2022
First of all, let's address it as the voice narrating the horrific tales of all our Kashmiri Pandits, and not just a movie. I have to admit, the movie has some very disturbing visuals and I also wonder at the same space, if it was so disturbing to us sitting in an air-conditioned theatre then, how horrible and terrifying could it be to the victims who were actually witnessing...!!!!! It was also very surprising to know how the politicians were silent and inactive to this ethnic cleansing when they were quite aware? There were also some anguishing slogans that actually echoed in the beautiful valley during the disastrous time, the early 90s of Kashmir by the oppressive majority.

I was definitely in tears and my heart wrenched, knowing the true dimension of the history of that disputed land. I also confess that I had to shut my eyes in pain while in the late minutes of the movie because of an unprepared, depressing and melancholic scene! Everybody would know if they have watched the movie.

Everyone did what they could but, Anupam Kher and Pallavi Joshi were exceptional. I could not focus on others specifically since, I wasn't seeing their performance rather, was feeling the unimaginable story of their characters!

Hats off to the team for contributing brilliant documentation that was never archived before, bravo to all who were involved in making this!

I really wish all those who were made refugees forcefully and had to go through those hard days of the holocaust, may return to their homes at the earliest.

I lend my shoulder to the victims I weep with them and I stand with Kashmiri Pandits Jai Hind 🙏🇮🇳

Credit for destroying a beautiful story!!! 7 for Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Harsh Chhaya
5 March 2022
It gets disappointing if a show is bad but it's probably far more disappointing, if a good show gets spoiled or ruined by its own makers, unnecessarily! Undekhi 2 is one of that damaged show. Heartbroken honestly..wonder how Undekhi 2 can lead us to such a shocking disappointment! The makers had no respect to viewers' preferences and it's a pity to see such a beautiful story gets crippled up at the climax! If it gets 7 out of 10 from me, then all 7 is because of Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Harsh Chhaya and nothing else! Very disappointed to see such a downfall of a show I was eagerly waiting for...unnecessarily dragged with too many useless characters..Undekhi season 2 had no interest in showing what it's viewers wanted to see, rather priotized on multiplying the characters...Undekhi season 2 is no match to its previous version and is just a spoiled dish👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

The Fame Game (2022)

Story of a missing actor that unfolds the reality of Btown lives!
2 March 2022
Starting with a confession, I was never much of an admirer of Madhuri Dixit, yes! Rather, I was never interested in the Bolly of 90s but, in this show, she has certainly surprised me with her performance and thus can think of her as a fine actor and not a good dancer only!

Fact is, every one has done a marvelous job and I adored everyone's performance while going through.

Though the story or plot was convoluted, which acted as the rock attached to the ferry, but thanks to all the fine actors, whose performance kept it afloat.

Fame Game is a must watch just to encourage the talented new comers along with some fine actors present and admire their presentation, that's it! Else, the story was quite disappointing rough drive!

A movie to shake the sleeping law makers
18 February 2022
Above all, I agree to what Naina had to say in terms of her conditions.

Never realized when the show twisted honestly. Brilliant performances by all the actors but never expected, Yami Gautam to be able to play such a pivotal protagonist and she doesn't disappoint.

An excellent initiative to knock the deaf ears of the napping society and law, and I guess, this is what cinema is for, to approach the mass with an intent of change for good.

Justice also done to it's previous "particular day" presentation, as well. I hope you know of what I am talking about.

Thank You Team 'A Thursday'..you get a standing ovation from me and I really wish, after seeing thus movie, the society question enough to pressurize the law makers to be more firm and strict, rather being fragile. Thank You👏👏👏👏

A slow start that ends with bravado and tragic!
15 December 2021
A slow start but an assured 'Edge of the Seat' Drama Thriller. Needless to specifically talk about Parambrata Chatterjee as he has always been a promise along with Raveena Tandon and Ashutosh Rana, who were magnificent too.

A flawless screenplay, tense and apt background music, exquisite location of 'Sironah', and frequent twists with political ploys, personal agenda, and a long-existing nightmare myth, that kept it 'pot boiling' where two mismatched hill station cops navigate through a web of suspects after a puzzling murder in the forested hills.

It's very intriguing only if one doesn't give up hope on the 1st couple of episodes. When it comes to thrillers, Netflix has a record to not disappoint, thankfully.

Best documentary on Indian Independence Movement
17 October 2021
One of the best documentation of our Independence Movement and it's brave fight with righteous tribute towards. Grief, sentiment and emotions were well presented. The cause of the braveson, Sardar Udham Singh has been highlighted in a very noble way.

And foremost, the message was straight, clear and sharp, 'Britain owes an official apology for the nuisance they made in this beautiful land and for the barbaric loot of our wealth and it should be repatriated with all the very same efforts made, to carry it to Buckingham!'

I wish and I hope strongly, all those were involved in these destruction, must and shall not find peace in afterlife!

Thank You Amazon Prime and Team 'Sardar Udham' for a brilliant projection which never had any fault. I am eagerly waiting for such initiatives in coming days and may the research on our Independence Movement, with the Bravehearts from every corner of this nation.. keep it's kinetic and may keep appearing in front of us with their painful glories, sacrifices and motif, which are yet to be told to many.

JAI HIND 🙏🇮🇳

Lalbazaar (2019– )

One of the worst Thriller!
6 September 2021
I just wonder, why does most of theTollywood thriller fail miserably, like this Lalbazar itself, in spite of having a plethora of skilled versatile actors in the cast list, of course, except a few. Major drawback noticed was, unnecessary dialogue throws that were blunt and was spoiling the interest to watch. To me, the cause of failure is the direction and most of the promising directors are either falling short to get valid producers as making a promising presentation certainly needs budget, or tgey might be lacking the confidence to make one. Sometimes, they are putting their major effort and focus on mainstream silver screen, which is damaging the stature of web films or series in the state. Hence, they need to come up to give an idea to these newcomers, a sense of professional presentation. To understand the concept of the genre, just watch Patal Lok, Delhi Crimes, there are very good Bengali thrillers, that were created in the past, like Kuheli, Feluda franchise under Ray's direction, Nishithe, etc... at least once before jumping in to become a specialist Thriller maker, it is highly recommended, as you are just making it worse being over confident. However, currently there are some good promising contents approaching in the recent future, which also happens to be of same genre and hope they get as promising as some of the very recent shows like Mohamaya, Dracula Sir, etc. But talking of Lalbazar, very very poorly made! Disappointed !!!!!!!! Many improvements needed on the implementations.

Disaster
13 August 2021
This film was so disastrous that at times I was wondering what the actual motive of the film was. The valour of our brave warriors were so poorly shown under the bolly drama that, at times one would certainly feel the genre should have been comedy and not war thrill. If bollywood fails to understand the intensity needed in war movies then they should stop making one and should stick back in waist waggling item dances than creating disasters with our sentiments involved! Our military has our respect and will always have so, in the coming ages for sure but, these kind of films doesn't get one..!

Shershaah failed to convince and say " yeh dil maange more."!
12 August 2021
Bollywood again gives priority to unnecessary comedy and drama over reality and the flavor of intensity of war and it's soldier is completely forgotten, especially when the subject is too sentimental, our beloved hero Captain Vikram Batra. Nowadays, the main motive of a bolly war movie is, to come up with exaggerated masala and lack research. There won't be a perfect movie like URI or Lakshya, ever again to my belief.

Disheartened, dissappointed but again, was expecting such a stumble while checking the cast list! 👎👎

Same whiskey in a different bottle
17 July 2021
If we talk about the story, then it's like one says, 'same whiskey in a different bottle'.

Average sports drama with a bit of lag and drag, missing that inspirational element throughout. A hooligan who used to break people suddenly turns out to be a champion followjng a roller-coaster life of his. Same old story with few changes or modifications that doesn't let you build the impact, drastically. But yes, if talked about cast performance then, this movie certainly scores high, compared to the array of recent boxing movies from the B industry and that's the only positive thing this movie had to offer.

Few questions remained unanswered
14 July 2021
Hats off and take a bow Pavan Malhotra. What a performance. This is the first time we got to see you as a protagonist and you did not disappoint. Zoya Hussain was fantastic in her supporting role. The makers could have worked on grooming the rest of the crew cast which could have made the show more interesting and not gloomy sometimes, especially when we being taken to the old days in Bokaro and some questions were left unanswered.

Meaningless and foolish
14 July 2021
I admire Sunil Grover but Sunflower somehow had different plan. It is not wise to experiment with the protagonist if you aren't sure of its outcome. The exact same thing has happened here. And talking about the plot, it is quite a lose, meaningless one with too much characters to help it make more complex and worse. I can say most of us did watch this only because it had Sunil Grover and Ashis Vidyarthi, but both of them got a very weak plot to show their potentiality! That's sad.

A pint of absurdity can make you grab your seat
14 July 2021
In short and crisp, despite having a few absurdity but the portraying presentation by Vikrant Massey will honestly wouldn't let you click the pause. Tapsee and Harshvardhan carries out well too.

It can surely be claimed as multi genre from rom-com to serious drama.

Stop fooling viewers by tagging brand names on minor products!
14 July 2021
I don't know about others but personally, it felt like I wasted time watching it. And it's more like selling a different product by using a different brand or label and here, the brand is the maestro himself, Satyajit Ray. All these stories are no way near to be as logical or practical as Ray's stories use to be. Either the makers could not understand what Ray has written or may be they were too confident to make the worse. If you know Satyajit Ray and his works, then please don't watch it as the pain of disappointment will rest harsh upon you. What surpising me more is the publicity it is gaining. I don't think it deserves any despite having a few fine and promising actors. And it would be better if they stop using brands like Ray to their own cold cookouts and sell it with a price tag. It's quite a hineous crime and should be stopped immediately.

A show for animal lovers
14 July 2021
Was eager since heard about... hope was high but must admit, it went way beyond the height. Loved it totally especially, due to the root cause shown about conflicts between human and the wild. Interference of political activities into the serene forest lands and also a huge respect to the team for conveying positive message about wildlife and boldly showing the destruction of jungles in the name of development. Brilliant execution of graphics, photography and most importantly, the dense gravity of the green kingdom, the rules and laws of it and the stature of the beautiful royal stripes were classically potrayed. Needless to highlight or appraise the crew and cast since, it's quite familiar how they perform however, Vidya did a terrific performance and after a span, keeping the records of the recent list of her appearances in other franchises. Thank You Team Sherni and Congratulations for presenting us something on such a topic where it is being absolute alien from the bolly industry of course. Was eagerly waiting for something like this and thus, it will always remain as one of my favorites. A must watch in my opinion for those who loves wildlife and prays for their safety.🐅🐯

It reminded me of Avni!
