Stairwell: Trapped in the World Trade Center (2002)
Parisen's best work yet
I finally got a chance to watch Stairwell last night and I really enjoyed it. I know the first thing people are going to think when they see this movie is that the story is kinda told in a "Blair Witch" format. Unlike the Blair Witch, Stairwell tells you a good story of two best friends trapped in the WTC. I thought the two main characters Charlie (Eddie Fontana) and Mike the fireman (Sean R. Walsh) did a fantastic job and were very believable in their difficult roles. I was also very impressed with the inside of the WTC after the plane hit. I thought it looked real cool and once again very believable. My one small problem with the movie is some of the extra's and minor characters seemed to lack urgency of getting out once the plane hit. All in all though that was one small problem which reflects mostly on unexperienced actors. There was one real funny one liner about Charleston Heston. I laughed my ass off. Check this movie out if you have a chance. It really captures a moment in time.
The Atomic Space Bug (1999)
atomic space bug
I recently watched the atomic space bug. Let me first off say I am an actor and I hate critics more than anything. I have always learned that a critic is a leg less man that teaches running, but in my case i actually do the running myself so it might be ok for me to be a critic this time around. First off I really liked the movie. Jon is getting better as a director and this is evident in this film. The stand out in this project was Scott LoBaido. In my opinion he stole every scene he was in. I also really thought the bug outfit was fantastic for an indie film. That also just so happened to be created by Mr. LoBaido so we know he can do more than just act. I am looking forward to the next installment by Parivision and I suggest to keep an eye on this filmmaker and also a few of the actors that are involved with the Parivision projects.
