AlRawabi School for Girls (2021)
This review is as unbiased as it can get
I'll ignore the Jordanian culture controversy and rate it as a normal show. The acting is almost good, but sometimes cringy. The story/idea is brilliant but the plot is 6/10, it had many plot holes. Cinematography and production are amazing as usual since it's Netflix. This show was well directed but the writing could've been better, it wasn't bad, but could've been better. The script was sometimes cringy as well, but mostly good. Music was great. Overall 6 or 7 out of 10.
Now when it comes to realism, i just hope that someday they'll make a Jordanian show where the vibe actually feels like real life. No doubt, everything that happened in this show does happen in real life, regardless of why many people say otherwise. But the vibe just isn't Jordanian. It would be awesome if the way they live, talk or look at each other, even their facial expressions, convey our behavior in real life. This makes it 10x more realistic. It wasn't the events that made this show unrealistic, it was the mannerism of a Jordanian person that they didn't perfect.
Dark: Das Paradies (2020)
This is pure art!
This show wraps up brilliantly.
Dark has proven to be realistic with unpredictable plot turns over and over, this alone is proof that the plot is legitimate. It should be no surprise that the whole plot originates from someone not so important like the watchmaker. Nothing wrong with that, if anything, it's actually a great shift in focus from the main characters to someone else, creating a hint of intimacy, which leaves us attached to and longing for the main characters. This show is pure art!
Dark (2017)
Pure art!
First of all I have to admit this is by far my favorite show of all time.
The writers clearly know what they're doing. The logic of time travel left me speechless. Although it's known that scientifically speaking it's impossible, but if it was, this is the most ideal approach as to how it should be done.
All the elements of this serie, from acting, to directing, to cinematography, casting, plot and soundtrack, they all add up to pure art!
*The next paragraph contains a hint of spoilers*
It leaves a brilliant trademark how they made it so that at the end of each episode in season 3, they wrap up with short scenes of the characters silently minding their own business -with awesome soundtrack- followed by a serious and important scene crawling into the events of the next episode.
The serie does have "insignificant" flaws, but I give it 10/10 for all the goodness it offers.
