Asur: Welcome to Your Dark Side (2020)
Very slow
Emerging onto the Indian market, 'Asur' welcomed with exceptional anticipation and curiosity owing to its unique blend of mythology and crime thriller. Attempting a genre mash-up often calls for an extraordinarily firm grip on storytelling, as well as a judicious analysis of what elements borrowed from each genre would lend themselves effectively in portraying a convincingly enthralling narrative. Unfortunately, 'Asur' suffers heavily more than it capitalises on this aspect due to it's slow and tedious storyline in the first season does not simply spoil fun but leads to utter confusion and lack of interest. Random flashbacks and intersections, without any substantial links, complicate rather than add depth to the narrative. Detailed storytelling is laudable, but when sprawled haphazardly, the charm is undeniably lost. One of the primary aspects attracting critique is the seemingly gaudy intuition dropped without proper apprehensions or anticipations. Consider DJ's dialogue - "yehi hain next victim, kyun ke mujhe lag raha hae", it appears overtly dramatic and unfit with the pacing of the storyline. Such mismanaged attempts to sustain suspense only dissolve the tension and disrupt the viewer's engagement. Moreover, the abundance of corpses falling here and there, supposedly based on stars and good deeds without any credible connection or explanation, takes away the series' credibility. Mystery thrillers heavily rely on providing viewers with clues and keeping them guessing. Overdoing such attempts only brings about unnecessary chaos. Contrary to the expectations of avid watchers of such a genre, this series seems fit for casual viewers who find fascination in disjointed narrative arcs. One might claim such narratives challenge the viewers to connect the dots. Still, without any relevant links or subtle hints, it becomes a futile attempt at best, a source of annoyance at worst. In conclusion, 'Asur', rather than being a time-worthy series, comes forth as an overhyped product failing to meet its captivating trailer's promises. Genuine recommendation - fans and followers of the thriller genre should invest their time in content pieces providing more in-depth, coherent, and linked narratives worth their time and interest. It is time content creators stepped out of the overhyped bandwagon and truly revolutionise the Indian thriller genre. Observations and lessons from 'Asur' can be the pioneering step.
Taali (2023)
Poor script, short story stretched long
Not worth it. Too slow paced storyline, emotionless & too much overacting by Sushmita Sen, just like she dud in Chingaari. After 2nd episode I kind of got dejected. Contributions of people who stood by her was undermined extremely. Too much dramatics has spoiled the show. Sushmita's dialogue delivery is same in all screenplays. But for Sushmita Sen's makeup, 10 on 10. Dialogues were also neither impactful or groud breaking. May be I was expecting a magnanimous potrayal of an ordinary life. Emotions are so less that one cannot even relate with the woes of the 3rd gender. I will not recommend people to watch it.

Do not waste your money & time
Rubbish movie. No edge of the seat suspense. Drab & boring screenplay. 1971 female character using clutch clip & shantiniketani leather bag with modern design is laughable. All characters look same. Who is braja ? Who is kali ? Who is lightman ? You won't remember. Atrocious makeup. Other than the protagonist trio rest is sludge. The explicit scenes are also nauseating. Utterly discomforting. Why the bengali directors are always puting unnecessary closeness on screen with formidable dialogues are revolting. Not recommended even for a light watch. Do not wast your money & timefor the undeserving film.
Teskilat (2021)
Very slow but feel good
Good watch. Season 1 was great. Season 2 is sometimes very predictable. This is definitely nonot filled with cliffhangers but at the same time does have some nail biting storylines. Uzai is very monotonous. Gurjan is naive sometimes. After every successful act of countering terrorism acts "istebu" is very very childish. Thank God they have given a dimension to Jeren in the recent episodes. But I liked Halit bey more than Mete bey. Kudos to Serder & Zehra. Love Hulki & Hakki bey is a darling. Good watch with family.
Kurt Seyit ve Sura (2014)
6 stars for the time traveling experience
A story of love lost in the times of war. Patriotism is the backbone of KSVS. Even though it is based on true events, the script is way different than Nermin Bezmin's book, but that's what usually happen with all book adaptations. The cinematography, set & costume are the things that makes KSVS pristine. Kivanc as Kurt Seyit is as handsome as ever with his usual horse ridding tricks but Birkan Sokullu as Petro steals the show. Parallel storylines are hopeless and may be a result of too much improvisation. There is no chemistry between the primary or secondary protagonists. And a rushed ending of KSVS makes it overrated. But for the artistic indulgence this is a must watch.
Hayat Sarkisi (2016)
Best Turkish Romantic Drama I have ever watched
Hayat Sarkisi or the song of life is a beautiful story of a girl who undertakes unconventional strategies to gain the love of her childhood love, who is a free spirit. You will laugh, cry, feel sad, get confused with Hayat Sarkisi. Not only for the protagonists but also for the supporting characters will also overwhelm you & take you through the ups & downs of life.
Hulya, played by Burcu Biricik, is adorable in her role & unlike other damsel in distress female protagonists of general romantic drama she can take care of herself & save the day without the help of the hero. Yes she has a wonderful support system to drag her out of danger but you will find, she is home & adventure all at once. Real showstopper is the young Hulya, who cames back in flasbacks as a reminder of her long love for Kerem. Birkan Sokollu is handsome a ever & fits the bill of a free spirited environmentalist who is unable to handle his wife's adventures & affinity for danger, but eventually will fall in love with her in due course of time. Last but not the least is Olgun Toker as Mahir Duru, Hulya's mafia teammate, will keep you on you toe with grey cell stimulating comic relief, bringing a refreshing perspective to the romantic drama. Though certain characters are overtly dramatic but you will love them all. Hayat Sarkisi has nothing to dislike. It's one of the most feminist drama I have ever watched where istead pulling someone down, people are uplifting others. Highly recommended.
