Damo & Ivor: The Movie (2018)
an easy watch
This is a good film to put on if you just want to watch something easy that doesnt take much focus. With its classic irish humour, there were good laughs throughout while not being cringey.
Prisoners (2013)
Amazing
Everytime I thought I knew what was gonna happen next I was wrong. This film is truly a jaw dropping thriller, even at 2hrs and 33 minutes long I was not bored for a second of it. Another great performance from Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman.
Circus of Books (2019)
interesting story but not very well executed
The story told in the documentary is overall an interesting look into the evolution of the gay scene in LA along with a look into a small business ran by a family, but I felt that it was dragged out and felt way too long, resulting in me being bored throughout most of it.
Calibre (2018)
Brilliant.
This film had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Even with the somewhat predictable storyline my heart was in my mouth throughout the whole film. Very well executed.
1922 (2017)
A well executed slow burner
I had never heard of the story of stephen kings 1922 before, so I went into this not knowing what to expect at all. I felt that although it was a slow burner I was never bored or uninterested. There were no cheap feeling jump scares which really added to the effect of the film as a whole. I will definitely be looking into more stephen king adaptions in the future.
Possum (2018)
Genuinely one of the scariest films I've watched for a while
'Possum' is genuinly one of the best thriller films I've watched. It was gripping, emotional and suspenseful. I will say I did have to watch it twice, mainly because the dialogue is quite quiet so I missed some key parts - but after watching it a second time I can confidently say this film was brilliant. After reading some of the other reviews I can see a lot of people didnt enjoy the fact that this is a slow burner, but if like me you enjoy eerie and uncomfortable films I would definitely recommend watching this. This is the first film I have seen Sean Harris in and his acting is incredible, I will definitely be checking out more films that he has acted in.
