One Day (2024)
It could have been so much more!
Spurred on by all the hype and the gushing recommendations from friends, I settled in to binge watch One Day. As each episode ended, I was anticipating the next one. Not because it was so good but because I was ever hopeful the on screen chemistry between the actors playing Dexter and. Emma would suddenly explode and match the potential the plot provided. As the final episode ended, I found myself still waiting. I felt fake as hell and a fraud for having to imagine the chemistry and emotions and it was exhausting. I've been left disappointed and frustrated that this could have been so much more. Clearly so many reviewers on here and so many other viewers were able to suspend belief and let themselves believe the push and pull attraction between Dexter and Emma. Good for them. But so not for me. I'm left with the overwhelming feeling of having been teased.
The soundtrack on the other hand? Superb.

Brilliant
Stunningly intelligent and witty. At times my tears of laughter were uncontrollable. This woman is superb.
