True genius back in form
18 May 2010
Old George is back with his best Dead film since Day of the dead!I read some bad reviews of his new film but man are they dead wrong! Romero is the Godfather of the living dead films and his latest is a true genius back in old form. The closest Survival of the dead is is to his other dead film "Day" This is a beautifully shot film with sympathetic actors, great scrip, amazing music, and last but not least George Romero's direction!! The most outstanding, amazing and brilliant performance comes from Kenneth Welsh,Windom Earl from Twin Peaks! His performance is so good i wan't to hug him!Zombies are not the most importend thing in George's films, never was. It's just a problem but not the most inpatient one.The most importend problem in all his dead films is human conflict, living humans! In the end he doesn't either takes sides like his previous zombie classics, the brilliant closing shot is the best thing i ever seen in a zombie flick! Thanks George for this film!!

Very beautiful film for the sensitive souls among us
2 March 2010
Let me start by saying that the bad reviews for The lovely bones are dead wrong. This isn't a bad film, far from.Every selfclaimed IMDb critic starts by saying they read the book and that it's bad in every way. Most of you are full of..... I haven't read the book.I have just seen the film and i really liked it a lot! It's a beautiful sensitive film, full with human emotions and there is hardly a cliché in it.The between world ,the girl is in, is a nice vision of what a 14 year old girl would think spending in after she just brutally murdered and can't except her sudden death and taking away from her familie and new blooming highschool love.Don't you get it? The serial killer, portrait nicely by Tucci,i one of the scariest characters i'v seen in recent cinema history, kudos for Tucci playing such a part! All actors are wonderful, the music by Brian Eno is dominant but affective, and Peter Jackson's direction is sublime. I think the movie will be a sleeper classic, but most people jumped on the "i hate this film"bandwagon and that is very sad indeed, because there are lot's of people who get and love this film and it deserves a lot of love!!

Scorsese's best in 20 years.
28 February 2010
Shutter island is one of those films you got to see multiple times, and that alone is what a work of art, film should be.Film is not a one look then never again because i'v seen it and know what is going to happen, kind of thing!I'v must seen Raging bull,Taxi driver, mean streets,King of comedy,Last temptation of Christ,Mean streets,After hours 30 times or more!the same will happen with Martin Scorsese's new Shutter Island! From reviews i'v read people either like it or hate it,that alone is proof the film is a piece of art.Like Lynch or Kubricks films, who with every film have the same treatment of reviewers. They love it or they hate it,there is no middle ground! The less you know about the film, the first time you see it, the better, but in the day and age of internet that is a difficult thing.People watch the trailer for month before the movie comes out. They read the book, the script, they know what is happening on the set etc. There is a great deal of mystery gone if you obsesively read everything on the net!Shutter island is a brilliant film and although it's a mystery thriller,it's vintage Scorsese stuff! The obsessive main character, the 50's,the virtuoso camera work, the brilliant use of music. It's a story about insanity, obsession and love, and what it can do to a person.De caprio is very good in Marty's films and this is probably his best film with Scorsese so far,or even in his career! He seems to get better with every film! All the supporting cast is very good aswel, aspecialy John Lynch,Ruffalo,Kingsly,Michele Williams and Elias Koteas, who apear only very briefly in it,but his soul is in the whole picture. The experimental music from Eno,Cage and others is very effective. The film, for me,is one of the best Scorsese in 20 years.Go see it!

Fallout 3 (2008 Video Game)
10/10
Masterpiece
26 December 2009
I'm not going to re-write the previous reviews about Fallout 3,you can basically read them yourself,by now the game is a solid year old.I am just going to say that Fallout 3 is one of the best games of all time, period. This is a complete virtual world, although nuked and destroyed,it is fun just wondering, exploring, collecting, buying, stealing or killing everything you see.Your karma will diside your future, just like real life! The graphics are amazing.Thevoice actors like Liam Neeson and Malcolm Mcdowell are superb. The game is a masterpiece on all fronts. Bethesda did a great job with this game and i really hope they make a fourth game!

Elephant (2003)
10/10
Masterpiece
21 October 2009
Elephant is a masterpiece, don't let them tell you it's not! This film is an artists way of trying to come to terms of what happened that day in Columbine, when two high school kids massacerd there way in and eventually killed themself. What drove them, what drove the two teenagers to do such a hanus act?We don't get the usual "Hollywood"treatment here.No this is an art film, not to be arty, but in the purest form.Van Sant is showing school kids wandering in endless looking school halls, doing what teenagers do,try to be hip and not out off place. We also follow the two kids who will do these horrible acts. This is a film you got to experience. The music Van Sant chose,Moonlight sonata and fur Elise from Beethoven is used so well,it gives a strange feeling to the film.As any art form,it doesn't give a straight answer, because like life there is simply not a simple straight answer. This is Gus Van Sant 's best movie and a 10 out of 10.

Amazing film!
12 June 2009
Jen Lynch's second film is a much better one than her first film from 1993, Boxing Helena. Not that that was a bad films by any means, but this one can be compared with her fathers best work. Not that it is a copy of David Lynch, but you can tell she's her fathers daughter for sure! It even stars Bill Pullman from Lost highway and Julia Ormond from Inland empire! These two actors are amazing in this film! The rest of the cast also are on top of there game. It's always good to see Michael Ironside in a film!! I'm not going to spoil you with the story here, you probably already know it's about 2 FBI agents coming into a small town sheriff department to investigate a very bizarre murder case. There is a little girl there who's parents are killed on the road by masked people and seem to know more about the whole case. It's an amazing thriller from beginning to end and i can't wait for Jen's new film!

Great satirical view about Hollywood
6 February 2009
I just watched this film and loved it from the beginning till the end! It's a fantastic, satirical film about the movie industry and based on a true story of a movie producer,Art Linson. In this film he's name is changed to Ben and played brilliantly by Robert De Niro.Sean Penn and Bruce Willis play them self, more or less.Aspecialy Willis is great as a kind of diva version of himself. It's all about the beard in this one!You got to see this film to believe!Hollywood is a crazy place and reality is goofier than fiction! There is only one problem with this picture,if you haven't got a sense of humor you probably won't like this Barry Levinson film. But for everybody else, fantastic film!!! 10/10
