Dare Me (2019)
What a surprise
Probably one of the best shows besides Alice in Borderland to come to netflix in a long time. Gritty, dark, great acting, great soundtrack. Relatable in ways to every girl who had an intense friendship at some point and/or an intense attraction. Has a B indie movie vibe to it instead of a show which is really rare. Worth watching. Hope netflix saves it and gives it another season
Revenge Ride (2020)
Honestly not that bad
I mean I've seen a lot of movies in my time and this I can say isn't the worst. Not really good by all means but deserves more then what the rating is. The story just seems super rushed. Good idea but way too rushed without much backstory except a lil bit the main characters fill you in on. Some dialogue is cringy and laughable but the acting isn't the worst. Serinda Swan is good as always but the whole love story between her and Diego Boneta isbeyond unbelievable, unneeded and terrible. Just makes no sense. Chemistry isn't there either. Diego's acting is super bad and the most cringy part. The worst part though is the football players acting. Omg are they terrible and your gonna tell me 3 players go up against an entire female biker gang, yeah no way. The main female lead is ostracized bc the guy who's trying to help them and has done nothing is a man?! I'm even a lesbian and that's just nuts. It was entertaining, watchable, and honestly not too bad if you go in with no expectations but the female actresses definitely are the saving factors.
Better Watch Out (2016)
Don't get why the low ratings
Honestly I don't understand why everyone is so upset and dissapointed by this movie. It's clever and leaves you wanting the psycho to get what he deserves. Not the most amazing horror film of all time but it was rather good and worth watching. The acting is on par. People who say it's not worth watching or the worst clearly hasn't seen much of anything. Worth watching as a time waster. I enjoyed it. Don't go in with high expectations and I won't be dissapointed. Period!
All I Need (2016)
Really unimpressive
I actually had some sort of expectation going in this and didn't even meet that. Best part of the movie was Caitlin Stasey. I enjoyed her in " All Cheerleaders Die" and "Tommorow when the war began", but I feel she was doomed from the start of this movie by the lack of storyline and overall terrible writing. The cringe worthy pauses make u wonder what the heck they were thinking. You get so frustrated by the pauses, dumb decisions and lack of good decisions by the characters that I caught my self wanting to yell at the screen. Like come on already do something. Why does it take 7 min to figure out what's what and react. Also what did she whisper in the girls ear for 3 min? Never ends up explaining that but yet it legit drew out that scene just to point it out! Just leaves you with more questions then answers. There is super potential here as far as the movie goes, yet fails to deliver. I found myself bored after a while. The two storylines never end up fully coming together and leave you confused and unsatisfied. I was hoping Caitlin Stasey ended up being the guys daughter in like a twist at the end but nope. Just ends. It wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen but it what's good by any means either.
Frenzy (2018)
Utterly awful
Awful acting, awful CGI, awful storyline, dialogue is rediculous. I don't know one good quality about this movie other then the actors are nice to look at. Well at least the females. Plane crash scene was laughable. They even filmed it in shallow water at times and you can see the bottom of the water. The actors pretend to tread water and then forgetting and standing up. Waste of a hour and half. Don't bother watching. I thought the movie Freshwater was the worst I have ever seen but this one gives it a run for it's money!
Portrait de la jeune fille en feu (2019)
Stunning and moving
Everything about this movie is stunning. From the actresses, to the cinematography, everything was just beautiful. There aren't many movie I can say that the lead actresses captivate you and hit you right in the heart just with simple looks. They have such emotion through their eyes and faces that you can literally feel the chemistry and emotions through the screen. Even up to the end scene that had me captivated on her face and crying along with the character. Simple beautiful. This is a must see
Cabin Fever (2016)
Don't bother watching
I liked the first one, but this one is complete total garbage. It may have been a while since I've seen the first but I don't remember the dialogue being unbelieveably terrible like this or the characters and the decisions the characters make for that matter. Not a single person in this is likeable. They all deserve what they got minus the one young blonde. The acting is laughable and cringy. Especially the hillbillys. You legit roll your eyes every other min. We were honestly rooting for the virus at one point. Don't bother watching.
Shadows on the Road (2018)
What?!
Well I'll write another review since my last one on this movie dissapeared. I rather enjoyed the movie until you get to a key point where the direction or writing took a terrible turn. The whole movie your rooting for Zoe to overcome her horrid rape and ordeal by her father whom u fig out early on it is. She finds a silver lining in a fellow drifter and all around nice soul, named Silver. They have a bumpy start at first seeing as Zoe has huge trust issues. As soon as you see her start to open up and finally think she can put her past behind her and move on, and finds the one person who helps her and doesn't want anything in return, boom....your entire world is crushed. The tragic plot twist was super un needed and I could even overlook that if it wasn't for the fact that Zoe randomly just decides after the ordeal to leave her friend in the desert, call her father, the predator and tormentor. Then takes off with him like nothing happened. Like everything is ok and she is just gonna pretend all is well. It's a bullshit cop out. She would be better off just continuing to drift around the country. The ending is terrible and just completely overrides any progress Zoe has tried to make the entire movie. And Silver? Wow what a waste of character there. I get your trying to show the cycle of abuse has a stronghold beyond what people seem to comprehend but come on! They had worked up a strong trust and bond and your going to tell me Zoe actively can't correlate bw being raped by her dad and starting to have sex with Silver? When she's the one who instigated the session? Give me a break! I understand getting ptsd from being raped and it is a tragic happening, trust me I know, but to kill the only person you trust and began to love bc in your mind you compared it to rape is rediculous. Honestly. The story was great until that point, but that's where u lost me. And like I said I could've overlooked that if you didn't insult the audience with your bs ending.
Mandy (2018)
Exactly how another reviewer said
It's a bad acid trip of a Rob Zombie movie, mixed with a little hell raiser vibe, and throw in a Mason hippie cult. Fantastic. Honestly probably one of the better horror movies I've seen in a long while. Especially with the era of remakes and lack of fresh ideas. Would totally recommend watching but with an open mind if you are not used to late night art house films. I missed the chance to see this at my local Indy theater, what a shame!
The Hunt (2020)
it's exactly what you think it is
I loved this movie. It is exactly what you think it is. Crazy one liners that will have you laughing. Gross, gory kills. Badass kicking lead female. Totally tongue and cheek. If your conservative or liberal, it makes fun of both far left and far right sides. Funny yet not overly comical. The actors were great. Betty Gilphin is fantastic in this roll. The end action scene between her and Hillary Swank was on par with any scene from John Wick. Was just the type of movie needed before all this crazy Pandemic stuff took off. Recommend going in with no expectations and you shouldn't be disappointed.
