Omohide poro poro (1991)
She's A Virgin
Summary : Isao takahata is practically an expert on visualizing human life and animation, this film is not just the delightful, colorful spread of childhood, showing how events in the past, environment and life choices can shape who we are today. With an nonlinear narrative that gives us the impression that something we do now is a vindication of something that happened long time ago, with Isao Takahata's storytelling ability, this film is capable of defining of human perceive their life.
Tenkû no shiro Rapyuta (1986)
Laputa's Floating Castle
Summary : In the early years of Ghibli which may be a point of proof for good and this legendary studio of animation, the epic storyline written and executed by Hayao Miyazaki does indeed provide emotional rollercoaster, a good storyline, a beautiful world and indulging in eyes.Touching soundtracks, a good portion of character, making this film feel steady, pacing is on point.
Making it an animated film best done for children's audiences.
Critics: Background of some less-defined characters that may cause a few questions towards the audiences.
Tonari no Totoro (1988)
Good Father
Summary : Hayao miyazaki wrote a story that most people say without plots, it is true that it feels like a ray of children's lives surrounded by their beautiful imaginations, nothing evil or anything to fight against in this film.A simple motion picture can reflect nostalgia through its realistic scenes. it's a movie that reminds us of what it's like to be children again, a movie that might spark the soul of children inside the body of any human being that can have a nostalgic effect.
Heisei tanuki gassen ponpoko (1994)
Alvin And The Chipmunks
Summary : The passage of a story sounds just like an animal against a human in over a region and land of origin, with a packed storyline full of heavy dialogue dialogue, it is an animated film with a narrative and a story that is almost "adult" in its natural sense.Although there are some parts with funny and ridiculous scenes. What Is this movie about?is it greed and selfishness on this earth? Does it show us that animals are just living creatures that want to survive as much as we do? Is that a moral imposition? Do we have to change who we really are in order to survive?.
Critics ( subj ) : Pacing (The movie can be a little slow sometimes)hehehe
Majo no takkyûbin (1989)
Toss Your Coin to the witches
Summary : This feels like one of the noticable Hayao Miyazaki movies that focus on children (audiences). It began with a powerful story plot, an identity message and proof that it it will and effort that shaped us.An easy-to-understand story for any age an important discussion topics, relatable characters toward children wrapped in beautiful visual animation.
Critics: The ending felt immature, executed, the less credible momentum of the story towards the end of the movie.
Mononoke-hime (1997)
Balances
Summary : It is one of the results of creativity and genius of a Hayao Miyazaki, a truly well-constructed story, the development of conflict to a thoroughly well-written climax, crystal clear cause and effect, strong written characters, innuendo and touching moral messages.
Critics: There was a slight error in writing continuity-character,a scene that felt lengthening the duration. There's a faction that felt unclear in the term of background.
Hauru no ugoku shiro (2004)
Mortal Engine
Summary : Hayao Miyazaki backs with another Beautiful Animated Film.
The opening of a film shows very well how the main character character is and how she views life.A storyline that recalls the fusion of horrors of war and the mystical world provides a basis for good story theme. The beautiful world design, the varied character of companion is also very well designed (story and appearance) to give the impression of a strong team bond.
Critics:However As it grew, the plot of the story felt so vague on several sides it could be called a plothole. The explanation of the cause and effect in this film is not well explained,(I did not write it in order to avoid spoilers) .at the end of the film felt like a hasty or forced ending. (maybe that's the same as the novel)
Mimi wo sumaseba (1995)
Concrete Roads
Summary : It's too bad Yohifumi Kondo didn't make more movies, he actually managed to translate the comic book into a beautiful film.it's a perfect combination, the lines they made felt natural and typical, the teen drama stories that remained fresh, iconic visuals, unique design and distinctive, soundtrack use, with a deep storyline. The distinctive hidden meaning of a ghibli that always accompanies the true story line always stands out from the others.
Critics: there's character that doesn't seem to be well-Developed and seem to be just as fillers in the middle of a story that feels it could've been cut off from the film instead of having it hanging and leaves the audiences with confusion.
Kaze tachinu (2013)
Beautiful Character's Arc
The writing of such a good story, the love story of the main character and his job as an aircraft designer blends into one fitting and beautiful film.
The good character development can really give audiences a sense of empathy.
Again Miyazaki had proven us his capability of being one of the greatest Directors.
Beware.. ridiculous critics
Critics : Some hallucinations or dreams Sequence are a bit confusing, the lack of the role of the parents main character (perhaps making the audience think the main character is selfish and aloof of his own family and more concerned with others as well as his occupation) CMIIW
Hotaru no haka (1988)
Sad To Be true
Summary : Isao takahata directed an animation different from others, we were given a dark and terrible story of the casualties of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II
The portrayal of the horrors of war was crystal clear, a visceral moral message, with a fine voice acting. The film is really suitable for every new generation from ancient times to modern times. It proves that war brings no happiness but pain.
War War Never changes.
Kokuriko-zaka kara (2011)
You had proven something to your dad in 2011!
Summary : Goro miyazaki gives us post-world war 2 romance story. Protagonist is well written so do the rest of the characters, music that brought the films well, visuals and structures that still fit with the old hayao miyazaki style.
Critics:If we dig up the story it might sounds ridiculous and complicated.
Some parts of a movie are so confusing that it makes you wonder where the movie is going because there's so much going on.
Umi ga kikoeru (1993)
Feels Amazing
Summary:this is arguably one of the most realistic, it really depicts the innocence of teenagers who are always passing through and not appreciating how fast time goes.Interesting main character surrounded by the world and the power of friendship Living in beautiful landscape.
The Color tone that paints the warmth, the unique ghibli visual arts really captures the feeling within characters
Critics: Perhaps some of the characters are very upsetting his depictions, and the ending that may have felt hanging.
Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (2001)
Still A 9 For Me
No Spoiler
But..all I can say is. It has very unique characters, it's well directed, beautiful music and don't forget the moral message it contains
Lots of iconic shots,I must be clear here I bet this movie had put a new standard for Animated Films In early 2000s (international Audiences)
Everyone considers this a Miyazaki's Magnum opus,it is iconic..
Critics: it's been stuck in my mind.
Almost all his films are centered in the same zone, kids -> mystical creatures and fantasies..
Twist isn't well executed.
Full of ambiguity for a Children's Film.
Is it overrated?why twitter film lovers consider this movie as masterpiece?
(When the roots of the story is fantasy jist like any others)
