An Emtpy Husk
2 September 2022
There are some fancy exterior scenes.

There are some fancy... erm... fancy... erm, no, sorry, can't find anything else thar really works.

Casting? That is terrible - not because of lack to talent but because they just don't know what to do with their characters - very much like ther wirters had no idea they want to pull of with the caracters.

Music is allright, visualy are allright, but is ain't a Marvel movie, you can sell it with those two alone. The important deprtmant - dramaturgy, pacing, characters, story are all lacking, and it shows.

Wasted effort.

Oh and even slight accurcay to the lore? Well, some of the names match. That's it. I do recomment staying away from it. Or give it a chance, judge it for your self, but there are much better things you spend your time with.

Did it have half the budged but with some actually decent writers and actors, the whole thing could have turned out different.

Overrated (Even at the current rating, ha-ha)
24 January 2022
At 1/10, this is still overrated.

Doesn't try to face facts.

This is an issue that should be taken seriously and get examined and cross-examined, but unfortunately, that's not the goal here. This flick is pure political propaganda without any real value.

That's why you don't mix sedatives with alochol.

The only reason for two stars is that it has a character named Mid-Sized Sedan in it.

Why do you HAVE TO GIVE AT LEAST ONE stars?!
19 June 2020
Oh god. No. Once we watched Bonan the Barbarian with my wife for fun. That had a more developed plot and more developed acting in it.

I watch trash for fun. That's something we do with a couple of university friends, we load up the most trashy garbage, you know, Megalodon vs Stegosaurus, whatever, have a couple of beers and laugh our butts off. Anything that has Eric Roberts, The Hoff or Lorenzo Lamas in it is quite a safe bet.

Oh, but this is a new level of bad. I was not expecting this. Oh God. The actresses would probably keep more of their dignity if they acted in some kind of S/M porn. Even that is better.

He told us he would be back.

Ok, so let's address the elephant in the room: "You are not the mother of some man who saves the future, you are the future."

Oh this was so bad. Really. So... I don't know, forced? It felt like giving an otherwise tough girl a boyish harcut and making her an augmented cyberpunk protector is supposed to change our perspective of women. Proving that they are strong. It was absolutely pointless. You already got Linda Hamilton, the toughest sob, apologies daughter of b. of the past thirty years in the movie. No matter how hard the ladies tried, they can never be as tough as she is. I felt like the movie wasted a lot of effort and screentime on proving a point that has already been proven in T2, thirty years ago. And that left a sour taste in my mouth.

Other than that, Arnie was brilliant, the story was logical, I really liked the story arc that - and I know a lot of people had problems with this aspect - no matter what, humanity is destined to fail due to our own hubris; and the action scenes were quite good on the small ('54) screen. with the digital release. Sarah Connor was effing fantastic, Linda Hamilton is our new Carrie Fisher, she is brilliant in all aspects, Arnie was great and grim and funny, loved to see him again, oh god, twice my age and still, twice my masculinity, but somehow the new characters were just... not interesting enough.

Would have been a much better movie if it focused on Arnie and Linda, there was tension, drama and feelings there, feels like a missed opportunity. Would definitely watch a Netflix series featuring them.

Lots of explosions. A real eye-candy with the airplane, I was hoping/begging for something like this. As some of those kind reviewer folks mentioned, not realistic at all. (In a movie that's about a robot being sent back in time to kill someone, come on, you really do expect any realism afther that?") But I don't care. Loved the delivery. Content though, that could have been better.

Steered back to the direction Abrams envisioned
21 December 2019
Most of the extremist reviews are misguided by passion. The movie is not terrible, but not epic either. It felt like it didn't really know what to do with the established story. You either love or hate The Last Jedi. Personally, I think it was great, it was daring, and it was a pretty ballsy move to exlpore new dimensions of the charaters, to go into the grey area. Well, yeah, flying Leia and the pointless sidequest with an unnecessary sidekick was rather dull and was met with dissatisfaction. Alltogether it was different. And anyhow, even if you hated it, it was a story that was supposed to be continued. But no, Ep IX simply grabbed what it liked, like the force bond, and the possibility of a redemption story arc, and discarded everything it didn't like, such as the nearly total annihilation of the Resistance. Witers couldn't handle the passing of Snoke either, they had to revive a known archvillain and planetkiller weapons which felt rather forced. Rey's heritage is once again important, her parents are not nobodies anymore, Kylo reforges his mask, a clear and visible message that Abrams is steering the story back to his vision. And that's all right. But he spends so much time on it that he doesn't have enough left to establish and execute and actual story, it just throws one scene after another. And they are great scenes. But there is no beginning, no real end, no story to properly tie them togerher. On the other hand, there is a tremendous amount of fan service. For Junior to a certain reward a certain character finally gets after 42 years, a lot or things that will be truly appreciated by those who followed the saga for the past four decades.

But in the end, it wouls have worked much better if either Abrams would have made the middle entry to keep the whole trilogy in accordance with his vision or if he wouls have been creative and/or brave enough to continue where the previous entry ended.

It was a decent movie. Enjoyable.

Watch the original instead
13 July 2010
Let me cut it short. There was a refreshing, funny, utterly lovable and enjoyable death - comedy titled Death at a Funeral. It's not even outdated, came out a couple of years ago. This movie tries to live up to the original English comedy, but despite the brilliant actors like Glover and David, it doesn't succeed. It actually made every mistake a remake can make, therefore the original remains brilliant and this one is just a weak copy. Sad, but true. They tried, even tried hard, I admit, but there are things that best remain untouched. Death at a Funeral is one of them. It's a nice try, but will disappear undocumented, unlike the original one that remains a fine example of English black humor.

My recommendation: Watch that one instead.
