1923 (2022)
If you love 1883 and Yellowstone avoid this lazy rubbish.
Having loved Yellowstone and 1883 I looked forward to 1923 being another great series.
Yellowstone and 1883 were superb, they both had great cast, great scripts, great plots and great production values.
Apart from a promising cast, 1923 has non of these., 1923 does not fit in the timeline created in Yellowstone and 1883 it makes no sense.
It's really really bad, so fragmented and lazily constructed, so so bad. I mean really poor, so poor that it could be summed up in just twenty five words and at this point I still have to write another fifty one characters of review.
1923 is unbelievably bad.
House of the Dragon (2022)
Really really rubbish. It's a joke ......right?
I don't understand how with such a budget, access to the best in the industry, it could turn out sooooo badly. The sound is so badly mixed and speech so mumbled and muffled you needed subtitles.
Some characters age and some don't, some characters just become unrecognisable because a different actor suddenly turns up playing the character. The plot storyline and character development was only up to daytime to standards sometimes falling short of even that low bar. Many dreary episodes where nothing ,nothing happens. Boredom set in around episode five and once bored I started to be aware of the sheer drudgery of the snail paced plot. No grand scale here, just a few disparate locations seemingly unconnected to one another.
If you haven't yet watched it, do yourself a favour..... DONT it is truly awful.
The Great British Countryside (2012)
Potentially great program ruined by terrible use of photographic filters.
This could have been a great series. The presenters Bradley and Dennis are very good, very clear and likeable. The content is very interesting and informative, with clear explanations.
Unfortunately whoever was let loose on the visual presentation wasn't up to the job. Clumsy inept use of optical filters has for me ruined the program, views we are informed as being beautiful obliterated by overly filtered sky make you wonder why filters were needed if it was so beautiful a view. Hardly a sequence goes by that is not marred by the dreaded filter enthusiast.
What a shame. This program was potentially a gem.
Shetland (2013)
Lazy last series
I used to really enjoy Shetland but this last series is very disappointing, the script was bland and the plot predictable.
Shetland has lost the grit it once had, the grit and realism that made Shetland popular in the first place.
With the last series containing Perez they ruined the brand , this goodbye to Perez series was lazy and saccharine.
Maybe without the overly limp and sentimental Perez, and with better scripts Shetland can recover but without regaining some gritty realism it will continue to disappoint.
This review was too short at this point, but I'm hoping that this last line should rectify the situation.
Ricky Gervais: SuperNature (2022)
Good honest humour, We need more Ricky.
Ricky exposes the ridiculous and they don't like it.
In the first 15minutes he totally exposes how ridiculous and nonsensical trans activist arguments are.
Liars and fakers beware.
James Acaster: Repertoire (2018)
Not for the intellectually challenged.
Hilarious, very very funny, sensitive, agile and intelligent.
James Acaster is a breath of fresh air, the imaginative worlds and the absurd situations James creates are genius.
I read a bad review here by a reviewer who obviously doesn't know what the term white noise means or must have had a humour by-pass op.
The Wheel of Time (2021)
Tedious dialogue, very poor, boring and predictable
What an ordeal that was.
The 4th form dialogue wasn't helped by the wooden acting skills of most of the cast, some of whom seemed half asleep, bored I suppose.
Six Minutes to Midnight (2020)
Bland script wooden Izzard.
Poor script not helped by Izzards attempt at acting. Vpoor.
Fargo: Welcome to the Alternate Economy (2020)
Wow this is dreadful, Fargo has fallen.
It's hard to convey how disappointing series Four is in comparison to the previous three series.
It doesn't fit. The Fargo series has succumbed to woke, the plot clumsily crowbars these elements in, lazy woke nonsense for the snowflake generation.
Roadkill (2020)
More woke dogma, predictable socialist propaganda.
Predictable lazy woke/Marxist divisive propaganda from the Labour Party's agitprop dept.
Boring sixth form nonsense.
