Marry Me (2022)
What the millions dollar budge Hallmark did I jus watch?
So, it's not all bad, it's actually greatly awesome AND BAD! Like a backwards hallmark movie ON STEROIDS with a super high budget.
The first dude is 25 years younger and that's a little, uhhh, off, wrong, weird??? And then the second dude (Owen Wilson) is NOT in any way the guy that would stand out in the crowd at all for a woman like JLo, to uh, randomly pick Owen out of a crowd and say 'hey yes I'll marry you, right now!!??!!'
Cute and cheeky and mindless entertainment for the background while doing dishes and cleaning. But this is not a date night movie (he won't call you for another date, he literally will ghost you!) or a girls night dribble with wine or (maybe tequila). Hell, even some wacky tobbacky won't make this above a 7* but, great cleaning background noise! Go JLo, you got the look and that body! Wowzers! And that voice! But this is the beginning of your Hallmark Christmas specials (which I kinda love to roast and watch and dream to marry a country boy saving his farm, but that's where she's heading in maybe 2026, I am here for it!) everyone gets married in those too, but there is dish soap snow and ridiculous misunderstandings.
I started my review at a 4, but as we was about to post this, I changed it to a 7, the actors do make the movie worth your time even if just for the giggles, and who doesn't like sparkly dresses and great legs? Enjoy!
This review is my own person opinion, I will probably watch it a second time to forget about my taxes and the piles of laundry that need folding.
The Assistant (2019)
A woman's equivalent perspective
This is raw. Real. Disgraceful. A beautifully masterpiece of a woman 'trying to make a living and succeed In a mans world to be pushed under a mans thumb with disgust'. Almost painful to watch. The film gives the feeling like the events took place in an older time. The phones and headsets. The old school mentality. But this still happens now. I have been Jane. I have been the 'waitress' in the cab. I have been all of these 'belittled' characters. I feel a little empty from watching this and want to make a change for woman.
Tread (2019)
Wow. Just wow
This was so enlightening. Something the world needs to learn from. You push someone too far and they will snap.
Glass Jaw (2018)
Just no
The acting is so poor. We had to turn it off.
The story is fine, but all talking and movements are insanely unnatural.
Defending Jacob (2020)
I wanted it to be a 10, but....
I didn't like the very last twist. The rest of the movie was great, but that ending sucked.
The Wrong Missy (2020)
Hilarious!
Perfectly mindless raunchy entertainment. So bad, so funny! Just missing Adam Sandler!
Love Is Blind (2020)
Mockery of marriage
Although I gave this a 10, it is an absolute guilty pleasure. However, this makes a mockery of marriage which makes me sad.
