Candyman (1992)
the original is still the best
After seeing the cash grab trailer for the reboot/remake it actually had the opposite affect on me. I didn't want to see this new one, but rather revisit the original film. holds up well. the age of the film actually adds to the charm. the score is hands down oe of the film ever in any genre. still with the original.
Terrifier (2016)
good and gory
The film is just a good horror film thats gory. doesn't mind itself with character development/drama etc. it's just a fun gory film. nothing more and nothing less.
Bunnyman (2011)
a film set between horror and dark comedy
RELEASED IN 2011 and written & directed by Carl Lindbergh, "Bunnyman" is set between horror and dark comedy. I can see why some would be disappointed by this flick: (1.) The film doesn't take itself seriously (2.) The limited budget constrains the filmmakers aspirations. Addressing these criticisms: (1.) The film is called Bunnyman, adjust your expectations accordingly (2.) Indie films that don't fit nicely into a specific genre are going to have limited budgets. In other news, the cast is good, and the dark comedy shines. THE FILM RUNS 90 minutes and was shot entirely in Idyllwild, California.

The Bunnyman Massacre (2014)
a fun indie horror film
To me this is an excellent example of "indie horror". Not because of production value (it looks great), as in Plan 9 From Outer Space, but because the limited locations and camera work. The acting is a mixed bag as is often the case with non union actors. The writing and sound all somehow add to the sense of dread, doom and horror. There is real horror here, both at the EXTREME violence levels, but also the desolate solitude.
This is clearly a film by somebody who, like me, has a lot of love for the horror genre; and also the ringleader of the Bunnyman is played by someone who is clearly a more seasoned actor. Another factor in my review, the film looks like it was just a HELL of a lot of fun to make.
