Les combattantes (2022)
Too much fantasy
The female combatants are beautiful and play well, although sometimes their expressiveness is exaggerated.
The war scenes are naively rendered and unbelievable. The scenes with all those wounded and mutilated soldiers moaning and wrapped in bandages, would not be true, something is false and artificial.
The plot is too thick, too many coincidences, too many events exaggerated and broken from reality. No president of a country comes to the place where fighting is going on, on the front line, to decorate four women, one of whom is a prostitute. Yes, a prostitute, but who has a wonderful mother's soul.
The series keeps you captive, you are curious how it will end, what will be the denouement, it is exciting from this point of view, but much of what happened is not believable, there is an excess of coincidences and situations, which have no real support and seem inappropriate and illogical, defying reality. Too much fantasy.
Teambuilding (2022)
Grotesque, extravagant and above all vulgar
The idea of the film would not have been bad, but the screenplay is execrably stupid and the actors, including Serban Pavlu, play at the low amateur level from a cultural home in the bottom of Romania.
I can't believe how someone invested in this mess of Romanian film. The idea, otherwise generous, to satirize the corporate lifestyle, was wasted. I endured an hour and a half on Netflix, only, only, some memorable line, full of humor, will appear. It did not happen. I've seen a bunch of ham actors fussing over a sixpenny burlesque script.
The fact that you satirize something is not enough, if you don't do it with talent and the right artistic means. What I saw is a folly of script, direction and acting.
My rating is, with indulgence,1.
Somebody Somewhere (2022)
This TV series looks like a dusty potato in the Kansas countryside
I watched two episodes and I don't think I will continue. That's enough for me. This TV series looks like a dusty potato in the Kansas countryside.
It doesn't seem like a comedy, it's more of a drama with a bit of sad humor, here and there ... The script is mediocre, there are no memorable lines, the actors couldn't do more. The characters are colorless, gloomy, monotonous. People, whether they are depressed, bitter, disillusioned or appear strange to us, spend their lives dull, slandering or staring blankly. And the way all of this is expressed in the film seems to me unsuccessful and boring.
To give a good rating to this TV series, either you identify with some characters (and then it's normal to like them), or you have some low standards so that you are satisfied with any banal and boring nonsense.
L'origine du monde (2020)
Very funny, with a sharp humor
The film is a surreal comedy, especially funny, with a lot of humor and satire. The script is very well written, the lines are full of verve, vivid and colorful. There may be times when you laugh with tears, if you have a sense of humor and you are not a grumpy man, very modest and easy to offend.
The actors fit in well, play very naturally and voluntarily even in the so-called awkward moments.
The film is provocative, breaks a lot of taboos, raises awkward questions about a man's critical age, marital relationships, holistic solutions, and the Oedipus Complex (the controversial subject of Freud's theory of psychosexual development).
In conclusion, I consider the film very funny, with a sharp humor, without anything dirty or ugly. If you are not overwhelmed by modesty and prejudice, watch it and fill yourself with good mood!
Pup-o, ma2! The crazy bride (2021)
A stupid, grotesque, ridiculous movie
A stupid, grotesque, ridiculous movie. I wanted to abandon him countless times, but the curiosity to see how stupid he can go made me resist to the end. I felt sorry for the second-hand actors, put there to fool around and do all sorts of nonsense, in a completely unnatural way and without any talent.
Direction - score 2
Screenplay - 1
Set design - 3
Cinematography - 5
Acting - 1
Overall scores - 2.4.
Don't give an hour and a half of your life for a two-penny fool.
SNUPD My name is BATFOI (2021)
A stupid movie...
A stupid movie that is not worth seeing. Everything is bad, directing, screenwriting, set design, actors ... Stay away from him. It looks like an amateur movie.
After We Fell (2021)
After We... Got Bored
Everything is bland and boring in this movie. Including the actors' play. "Tess" (Josephine Langford) with a sweet plastic doll face, a little expressive and monotonous. And "Hardin" (Hero Fiennes Tiffin), sometimes angry and frowning, sometimes melancholy and lost, does not convince in any way. The screenplay is weak, with such banal, bad and embarrassing remarks, several times I wanted to give up watching. But the movie doesn't end with this episode, sweet jelly will continue. Bleah!
