The Gentlemen (2019)
Engaging, entertaining, a treat!
I enjoyed this movie a lot! The script was absolutely fantastic, so hilarious and dynamic. And even though, as some reviewers have already mentioned, it started a little slow, once the plot got going, it was hard not to watch! Great cast, everyone did a BRILLIANT job, and even though I wish some parts of the story were developed more than they were, The Gentlemen was nonetheless a treat. Would recommend this!
Red Oaks (2014)
An "easy" watch - in the best sense of the word
The characters in Red Oaks are incredibly endearing. The storyline is so comforting and simple and well done. disappointed it ended so soon!
Lenox Hill (2020)
Touching, moving, an incredibly emotional watch
About to enter my first year of medical school and this was really touching. Gives me a lot of motivation and drive and just awe at the whole medical community and the wonderful work that they do. People are so layered and so complicated and this was an experience of that. Great series, really well-made.
Becoming (2020)
I don't get the reviews!
I'm a huge fan of Michelle Obama and I deeply appreciated the "slow" (perhaps even "serene"?) pace of the film, which revealed an even more authentic image of the former First Lady. It could seem like a bunch of tour snippets seen together and maybe it is, but I didn't hate it. The film complements and supplements her bestseller very well, and I do think some background knowledge on Mrs Obama could help viewers connect more with the movie and the stories but personally my eyes were brimming with tears the whole way through. If I had anything else to say, I would probably have enjoyed more of those segments that gave a little glimpse into the lives of the young readers/followers of Michelle Obama.
