The Responder (2022)
Gritty Drama
The Responder is a gritty drama which draws you into the unfolding story and characters right from the start. Very emotional in places which allows the viewer an insight into a different, hidden world and captures the ups and downs of the characters involved and their intertwining lives.
Extremely well written, with an incredibly well chosen cast. Beautifully acted. I can't fault anything about this drama.
It left me thinking about the characters and story long after watching it as it was that good.
In fact, it felt more like watching a full-length film than a weekly drama.
Highly recommended!
McDonald & Dodds: We Need to Talk About Doreen (2021)
Brilliant!
Absolutely fantastic yet again!
Wonderful dynamics between DCI Lauren McDonald and DS Dodds whose interaction makes for excellent viewing. Both Jason Watkins and Tala Gouveia are excellent actors and very well chosen for their parts in this crime drama.
This particular story was brought to life by Sharon Rooney's portrayal of Doreen who made for fascinating viewing.
A wonderful cast as always with strong and fun storylines. I cannot fault this drama and can't wait to see more episodes.
My favourite drama to date!
The Real Housewives of Jersey (2020)
Harmless Entertainment
What a beautiful Island Jersey is. Fantastic aerial filming of the gorgeous sandy beaches, stunning countryside and amazing Jersey houses. Well worth taking a look at this drama for that alone.
I am loving the main characters as they develop on-screen and the funny things they get up to. It is a fun drama and light entertainment to be enjoyed and not taken too seriously.
Kate has to be my personal favourite. She is fun and I am just loving her outrageous outfits! It's great to watch her get into all sorts of scrapes and her entrances are legend.
I'm totally hooked watching each week and highly recommend taking a look.
White Lines (2020)
Absolutely Brilliant!
This has to be the best mystery thriller in a long time, It was totally gripping right from the start through to the end. It was well written, brilliantly acted and completely absorbing.
As I was watching it, it occurred to me that it reminded me of a Quentin Tarantino film. And I love his films. The cast were brilliant and I can't fault any of them. Acting at it's best.
This production had a little of everything in it and a real who done it with an ending that did not disappoint. Clever, funny, sad, gripping. You name it. It was all there.
Well worth watching! I enjoyed every minute.
The Split (2018)
Emotional and Brilliant!
This is an extremely gripping drama. It's been well thought out with a brilliant script and amazing characters. The acting is faultless from every single actor and they have all been chosen to fit their individual characters.
I actually cried at the end. Loved every minute. Well done!
Deadwater Fell (2020)
Gripping Drama!
Deadwater Fell is getting better and better with each episode. I am completely gripped by the story line and the characters now. The tension has gradually built up more and more and part of me wants to know exactly what happened and part of me doesn't want this drama to end.
The actors are all excellent and very believable so that they draw you into their own personal stories of how their lives are intertwined and how this affects the case as it progresses.
David Tennant delivers yet another outstanding performance. Those slight changes in his facial expressions have you completely wondering what's going on in his mind. Did he or didn't he do it? It's a drama so anything is possible.
I won't go through all the actors but I honestly can't fault any of them. Superb acting, not overdone, and totally believable.
Well done Channel 4 and everyone involved in this drama! Loving every minute!
White House Farm: Episode #1.2 (2020)
Fiction
Having watched the first two episodes I now realise the White House Farm drama is more fiction than fact. I seriously have the impression it is playing on people's heart strings rather than uncovering the truth. It's very dragged out which makes it frustrating to watch as well. Then comes along another inconsistency. For instance, a big thing was made of Sheila Caffell's fingernails being perfectly intact. In reality they weren't so it makes the police look incompetent. Ann Eaton was not at the meal with the Bambers the evening the shootings took place so had no idea about that evening. It is well documented that Colin Caffell knew Sheila was unpredictable because of the schizophrenia she suffered from, and his father told police he was worried that Sheila might harm the twins. Police asked Jeremy for consent to burn carpets etc. not the other way round. It just keeps giving a twisted view of the truth. As for the dog being put to sleep! There were actually 2 dogs. They were given to the vet and the farm dog was re-homed quickly but the other dog was old and distressed and kept biting everyone. The vet, not Jeremy Bamber, advised it should be put to sleep. These inaccuracies by ITV are so obviously designed to get as much reaction from the public as possible. As the drama is so inaccurate it comes across as pure fiction and has nothing in common with the real crime.
