I was there!

There are not sufficient adjectives or superlatives for me to describe this series. My husband and I have just started on Series 3. Series 1 and 2 consumed us entirely and it has been our only evening viewing since we watched the very first episode. We began watching in an attempt to improve our Turkish language learning having moved here to Turkey some 6 years ago. And whilst we can understand the gist of the dialogue, we have always watched it with English subtitles. Learning the language fast became incidental anyway, probably after episode 3 of series 1. We've also started to research the history of the period depicted in the series - checking out the characters depicted and finding real truths in the series writing. We have an even more profound respect for the culture of the country that is now our home. Watch this series at your peril. If you do not want to don leather, grab a sword and become a follower of Ertegrul by the end of series 1, you probably aren't breathing.

We LOVED this series! Finished watching it tonight and feel bereft!

My husband and I rarely watch TV. But as we moved from the UK to live in Turkey now and want to improve our Turkish, we decided to check out Turkish drama series. We were hooked from the first episode.

So pleasantly surprised by the superb quality of acting, the script, the plot, the sets - everything! We feel like we know these people now, the character building was brilliant.

As many others have said, special mention must go to the outstanding acting skills of Aybars, the young boy that plays Kaan. Had me in tears on more than one occasion.

I have no criticism of this stunning drama other than WHERE IS THE NEXT SERIES? *please*
