Exciting

A decent Thriller which focuses on the intrinsic value of heroism and selflessness rather than glamorizing and glorifying violence. It does not set out to prove or relay an agenda. This movie is a story of courage in the face of psychological trauma. It's not Citizen Kane, but it's a solid watch with good editing, good acting and a solid art direction. The trailer gave off heavy Die Hard vibes but the movie itself is nothing like it.

Critics won't like it because it provides virtually no political commentary and places all of its value on the importance of courage and doesn't focus on the broader issues at play besides the ubiquitous issue of self-obsession and social media infamy. Conservatives would like it more if they had touched on the issue of nihilism, but again, this movie isn't for the right or the left, it's for everyone.

In recent years, professional critics are most often concerned with the message they want to see, often using phrases such as "this movie provides social commentary which will undoubtedly make the audience think" rather than immersing themselves in the story the movie wants to tell. Comparable to the "problem" with "Hillbilly Elegy", which sets out to tell a story and does it well. Critics don't like it because they don't like the overall message.

Anyway, 7/10, great movie for a night-in with the wife if you're in the mood for a Thriller

Maybe I don't get it

I am baffled. Is the point of this movie franchise to embarrass people? Like a less funny or clever version of "Nathan for You"? It's incredibly awkward and I found myself cringing the entire time. There is a great way to do awkward humor and this just made me feel bad for the people who were forced to interact with this incredibly annoying and ridiculous character. 2 stars because of production value

Thoroughly Enjoyable

I don't know how this movie will be received by folks who haven't watched the original show; but for the psych-os, it was great! The plot was very much like an extended episode of Psych. It was a little hard to follow in the beginning, like they cut a scene or something. I wish we had seen more "psychic" Shawn and maybe more relationship progression with Juliet

Why was this made?
7 July 2020
The director sure did create an "epic" environment. It feels big and looks great but that is where my positives end. When you name your movie "Exodus", people have a specific book in mind and that book is not what this movie was based on. I'm pretty convinced that Hollywood has a different "god" and a different "bible" than the rest of us do. This version of moses was arrogant and murderous. Not the meek and humble (but still human) man working on behalf of God for the Israelites. It is obvious the director, writers and actors have a certain special disdain for God.

On the secular hand, the characters lacked all emotion besides loud and arrogant. I'm not sure if loud is an emotion, but this movie thinks it is.

This movie isn't worth anyone's time and energy. Read Exodus, it's a lot better.

My son loves it

My 4 year old son adores this show. I wish the animation were less bright and I wish the female heros wore more modest outfits but I really appreciate the dedication to lessons directly from scripture. The superhero, Bibleman, is a great teacher and all of my kids look forward to watching this show on Saturday mornings.

This show has an extremely interesting premise, but instead of investigating anything interesting, decided to be a romantic "comedy" wrapped in bad acting, bad writing, and bad CGI. Spends time bashing religious beliefs but never deals with anything deeper. Shallow show, writing and characters.
