Prey (2022)
Terrible movie being pushed by woke media. Don't bother
Watched this with a group of about 100 people on twitch. Everyone went into it hoping it would be as good as the reviews and just about everyone came out of it disappointed. All the CGI is laughably bad, the main character is just a Mary Sue and there aren't even any standout kills from the predator. Just utterly boring from start to finish. A real shame because the general idea of predator in old frontier times could have been great.
The Terminal List (2022)
Really well done, don't listen to the critics
I saw a lot of bad early reviews on this so almost never gave it a shot. Got bored today and started it on a whim, I'm now on episode 4. Honestly, I liked this a lot more than amazons Reacher series. This is pretty realistic throughout instead of the many cartoony like scenes we got in Reacher. I think critics panning this has not much to do with the overall quality, but more to do with them disliking the political leanings of Chris Pratt. Definitely recommend checking it out.
Yellowjackets (2021)
I only cared about 1/2 of the show
Half of this show takes place 20 years in the past and the other half takes place in modern day. The past portions are very interesting and really well done. The modern day part is utterly boring though. Also, episode 1 was by far the best episode. It kind of slowly gets less and less interesting each episode after that. Still, it's worth checking out and I still found it okay overall.
Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber (2022)
Very solid
Only 1 episode has been released at the time of this review but it was very good. It feels like a less pretentious version of Billions with more realistic dialogue. Also I loved the music in this.
The Wrong Car (2016)
Not very good
The description sounded interesting enough for me to give this a shot. I wish I would not have done that. It's decently acted and shot. The story is just very minimal and the ending was non sensical in how it played out. Would have been much improved if about 30 minutes were cut from the runtime to get rid of all the boring and unnecessary scenes because there are a lot of them.
No Exit (2022)
Starts off strong, but quickly falls flat on it's face
This movie starts off strong with an interesting whodunnit premise centered around our main character who we get just enough backstory to care about. Not a single other character is given but a few minutes of dialogue to flesh them out so you end up not really caring about anyone else or what happens to them. The pacing was all over the place and there's really not enough that happens to justify a 90 minute movie.
Very early on we switch genres from whodunnit mystery to mostly straight up thriller which I found disappointing and kind of boring. The description of this movie is very misleading and I think it will leave a lot of folks disappointed because it does not match the movie I watched. It's worth checking out if you consume a lot of movie media and are looking to watch something you haven't seen, but it's very average.
