Dirty Laundry (2006)
A Solid 7!
Now yall know ya girl is addicted to Black movies. I mean...after watching mainstream television I just NEED to see some Black people doing some thangs ya know?
Well...I rented this movie I thought it was going to be same old same old.
NOT!
Ohmygoodness! THESE CHARACTERS WERE SOOOOOOO WELL DEVELOPED and the story line was so good. This was SUCH a believable movie and all of the dialog was SO REAL! SO REAL!
Wow...I was soooooooooooooo impressed with how they handled such sensitive topics. LOVED IT!
I would give this movie a solid 7 and only because of some really campy dialog about the son's mother. It was very, VERY awkward to me.
Loretta Divine? I think this was the best role I've seen her in since she was strutting her stuff talking bout "Would you like to have dinner with us tonight? It's just leftovers. Collard greens and corn bread, some candied yams, a little potato salad, fried chicken, peach cobbler and a few slices of ham."
This was a GOOD role for her. LOVE YOU GIRL! Rockmond Dunbar, Terri Vaughn and Maurice Jamal did a good job too. Jennifer Lewis? She played the same role she always plays. Bless everybody's heart involved.
If you have an opportunity...I say rent this movie. It was good. Not for the kids though. Just for you. :)

Forbidden Fruits (2006)
The Worst Movie in the WORLD!
I'm sorry but this movie was worse than anything I have ever seen in my life. It was just AWFUL! Geez! I want to demand my money back from Blockbuster for even having it on their shelves! The acting was terrible. The directing was terrible. The story...hideous. Man...just too much for words. I don't really have anything else to say except to just warn everyone to steer clear of this movie if they don't want to get annoyed. The guy who directed this movie should really find someone else to pick projects for him because he didn't do a good job with this concept at all. To sum it up...this movie was hideously terrible. 30 Years to Life (2001)
Surprisingly Good
I have to admit that I was skeptical at first. But I ended up really enjoying this movie. The relationships worked and Tracey Morgan was GREAT! We found ourselves talking to the movie and giving each other "the look" when something crazy happened...Like oh unh uh. Pretty much 50% of Tracey Morgan's lines are good one-liners!
Paula Jai Parker's character was very different for her and I have to say it was a dramatic change for the better. Alan Payne is still gorgeous to me. LOL!
I understand this movie was scheduled to release but didn't because of delays. I'd actually never heard of it and just stumbled across it Blockbuster.
Huff (2004)
Huff
I truly, TRULY think this show is the best thing on television. I'm sick of reality shows and nothing else makes me feel and / or think. I hate what Huff and Beth are going through right now but hate even more what Bird is doing. I just wanna grab that young man and shake the crap outta him. But...I understand where the kid is coming from. He's hurting. I wish Izzy would stay the way she is with Beth right now. Really gentle and supportive. I was as stunned as Beth was when she went to the grocery store for her and told Beth to continue creating. Wow. Awesome. Huff being intimate with the stripper? Well...I hope Beth doesn't find out and I hope Russell's "baby mama" hasn't had the baby while he's been out partying. www.MonicaMingo.com
