Ragnarok (2020)
Bad form, Netflix
We were fans from the first episode! It was so different and it took a mythology that most humans are familiar with and gave it a modern twist, without being cutesy. The cast was perfect for the location and new storyline. Watching the development of characters in the new modern setting was fantastic! Magne and Laurits had personal struggles that most everyone can relate to in one way or another, which made you root for them. The location was stunning and seemed to be a cast member on its own.
Why in Thor's name they would end this series in such a lazy way is beyond me. There is so much more they could have done. Very bad form Netflix.
Firefly Lane (2021)
I'm so invested!
These characters are fantastic! I am invested in every age. I believe young Kate as much as "current" Kate, and that goes for all of them. I can feel what they're going through and I root for them and feel their pain.
Even though most of us cannot relate to a lot of the situations they find themselves in, I feel like I'm going through it with them, because the casting was spot on. There isn't anyone I would want to replace. I love having Katherine Heigl back and Sarah Chalke is amazing. I am used to seeing her in a comedic setting, so this was a very pleasant surprise.
If you stick with it, the time jumps are not distracting at all. Give it a chance!
The Open House (2018)
So confused
Do not waste your time. Awful movie. It's like they put chunks of other movies together and called it new. The problem is they aren't the GOOD parts of other movies. They didn't finish a thought, so you never understood what one thing had to do with anything else, because it literally had nothing to do with the story. Completely random things that they try to make you think are important. They also added really dramatic and suspenseful music when nothing happened. Plain old curiosity is the only reason I watched that horrendous movie to the end. If I see anything else by that Director or writer, I think I will avoid it like the plague.
Christmas in Carolina (2020)
So much wrong
I really wanted to like this movie, but the acting was just not good at all, with the exception of the cousin. I don't even know what was going on with the writing, because it seemed like they told 5 different people to write a scene for a Christmas romance and then put them together. It's like they ran out of time at the end and just said never mind what just happened 5 minutes ago, everything is fine!
