IO (2019)
Alone on abandoned Earth
"IO" is a thought-provoking and visually stunning Netflix original film that explores the consequences of environmental disaster and humanity's relationship with technology. Set in a post-apocalyptic world where the air has become toxic, the story follows Sam, a young scientist played by Margaret Qualley, who remains on Earth to search for a solution, while the rest of humanity has fled to a space station called IO.
The film's pacing is deliberate and contemplative, allowing the audience to absorb the eerie atmosphere and ponder the themes of loneliness, hope, and resilience. The cinematography is breathtaking, capturing the desolate beauty of the abandoned Earth and the sleek, futuristic design of the IO space station.
While the plot may be slow-burning for some viewers, the film's thought-provoking themes and stunning visuals make it a compelling watch. "IO" is a haunting and introspective sci-fi drama that will linger with you long till its end. If you enjoy philosophical and visually dark films, you should watch "IO".
Shuddh Desi Romance (2013)
Love in fake expressions
"Shuddh Desi Romance" is a charming and delightful romantic comedy that explores the complexities of love, relationships, and identity. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, this film is a breath of fresh air, offering a unique and refreshing perspective on modern romance.
The movie follows the story of Raghu (Sushant Singh Rajput), a charming and carefree young man who makes a living by playing the role of a fake groom at wedding parties. His life takes a turn when he meets Gayatri (Parineeti Chopra), a free-spirited and independent woman who challenges his beliefs and makes him question his identity.
The film's strength lies in its witty dialogue, clever plot twists, and outstanding performances from the lead actors. Sushant Singh Rajput shines as Raghu, bringing a perfect blend of humor and vulnerability to his character. Parineeti Chopra is equally impressive as Gayatri, delivering a confident and nuanced performance.
The supporting cast, including Rishi Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor, adds depth and humor to the story. The music by Sachin-Jigar is catchy and memorable, with each song perfectly capturing the mood and emotion of the scene.
What sets "Shuddh Desi Romance" apart is its honest and realistic portrayal of modern relationships. The film tackles themes of commitment, trust, and identity with sensitivity and humor, making it relatable and endearing to the audience. All of the songs are beautiful and sounds really joyful.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012)
Love in London movie
"Jab Tak Hai Jaan" is a poignant and mesmerizing romantic drama that explores the complexities of love, loss, and redemption. Directed by Yash Chopra, this film is a swan song that showcases his mastery of storytelling and emotional depth.
The movie follows the journey of Samar Anand (Shah Rukh Khan), a charming and brooding musician who falls deeply in love with Meera (Katrina Kaif), a beautiful and vibrant woman. Their whirlwind romance is cut short by a tragic accident, leaving Samar heartbroken and searching for solace.
The film's narrative is expertly woven, oscillating between the present and the past, revealing the layers of Samar's emotional turmoil. Shah Rukh Khan delivers a powerhouse performance, bringing depth and nuance to his character. His chemistry with Katrina Kaif is undeniable, making their romance a joy to watch.
Anushka Sharma shines as Akira, a feisty and determined filmmaker who helps Samar confront his past. Her character adds a delightful contrast to the melancholy tone, bringing a sense of hope and renewal.
The music by A. R. Rahman is sublime, with each song perfectly capturing the mood and emotion of the scene. The cinematography is breathtaking, capturing the beauty of London and Ladakh. My favourite songs from this movie is Heer, by Harshdeep Kaur, but all other songs are also good.
If you're a fan of romantic movies, "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" is a must-watch. It's a beautiful, emotional, and thought-provoking film that will leave you smiling. Yash Chopra's legacy lives on through this masterpiece, reminding us that love can conquer even the darkest of times.
Le salaire de la peur (2024)
Explosions in desert
"The Wages of Fear" has suspense and tension, with a gripping plot. Director Henri-Georges Clouzot weaves a tale of danger, greed, and redemption, set against the unforgiving backdrop of a South American desert. The film's pacing is expertly crafted, slowly ratcheting up the tension as the story unfolds.
The cast, led by Yves Montand and Charles Vanel, delivers standout performances that add depth and nuance to the narrative. The cinematography is stunning, capturing the harsh beauty of the desert landscape and the treacherous terrain that the characters must navigate. It's available on Netflix and it's in French, but English dubbing audio and subtitles are also available on Netflix, so you can have that.
Overall, "The Wages of Fear" is a classic thriller that deserves to be seen by anyone who loves suspenseful cinema.
Bad Boy Billionaires: India (2020)
Exposing scammers, fraudsters, demons
Bad Boy Billionaires: India
About a rich businessman who wanted to normalize the use of alcohol drinks in India, which he failed after some time when the government came into this. Then he makes an airline company by the name of kingfisher, he fails in the airline business but he takes millions of Dollars of loan from public banks of India and over the next years he became bankrupt, he didn't even pay salaries to employees of the airline. After all, he sits in England and does not care about what wrong he did. I think if any person who is corrupt, has back support from the government, he can do anything he wants to, and survive.
Nirav Modi who did the diamond business, took a letter of undertaking from the Punjab National Bank and took loans from them without paying them back and he got about 2 billion dollars. He also lives in London, and is liable to pay all that money.
It is said, power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Another man made his company Sahara Group and made people invest their money as savings in his fraud and he did this scam with millions of people. Actually he did the scam the legal way, also he was charged for money laundering.
I don't know why a human being drops to such a level of being a demon, not caring about other innocent people. Such people just lose the characteristic of being called a human, they shouldn't be called human. Shame shame on such people.
Money, Explained (2021)
Quality and Comprehensive information
Money, Explained
This series tells you how some intelligent people make you fool and make you waste your money on things that are not legit and not real. There are coaching scams where someone tells you to pay him an amount of money so he will make you able to make a lot of money to become rich, that's all a fraud a scam, nothing else. But in this era of unemployment and desperation, people are very likely to fall for such scams and they don't ever realise the true and fair reality of such things. Then there is gambling stuff, casinos, and other things like that making people addicted to wasting their money like water, and people repent afterwards. Most of the people involved in such things have lost a lot in their whole lives, they've lost their houses, their savings even they got divorced because of gambling addiction. I think the only thing is awareness about what is good and what is not, and people should learn where to put a limit for their habits so their habits don't become their addiction.
Killer Soup (2024)
Story is Stupid, and so is that soup
Killer Soup
A woman named Swathi has problems with her husband, and has fights with him on a daily basis and she wants to open a restaurant. But she also has an affair with her husband's carbon copy of Umesh and she wants to live her life with him. One day she and her friend that she has an affair with, kills her husband Prabhu and buried his body and Umesh pretends to be Prabhu.
Time goes by, and police and other people don't recognise him, but at the end of the series, everything just opens up and the truth comes to light.
There is another language used in this series, at some points, i think that's the Kannada language. And that's maybe because this series was shot in Karnataka and the story has to do with that area.
Manoj Bajpayee is doing the role of Prabhu and Umesh both, because they are both identical.
Go watch it, it's available on Netflix.
Files of the Unexplained (2024)
Unsolved Mysteries of Earth
Files Of The Unexplained
This series shows some of the great mysteries in history, like UFOs, Myrtles Plantation where it's believed that those plants and trees and the house there, are haunted and some astray spirits are haunting that place.
I believe that maybe there Are some intelligent life in this universe other than us. Maybe, just maybe. Because we can't see them because light takes a lot of time to travel to such farthest distances like hundreds and thousands of years minimum, so maybe there are some intelligent aliens out there and they want to see us to know how are we and what are we, how do we look, how do we do anything.
Anyway, this series is about that, usually all series which are like a documentary are great, the information is concise and feels complete and comprehensive and the episodes are more or less not more than a half an hour long.
This series is available on Netflix and has 8 episodes in total. Go watch it if you like mysteries and UFO kinda stuff.
The Wedding Guest (2018)
Abduction of a girl from Pakistan to India
The Wedding Guest
This movie is about a guy who is working for an Indian named Deepesh who lives in the UK, and kidnaps a girl from Pakistan to take her to India. But that Indian man doesn't wanna meet that girl now because police from Pakistan are looking for that girl and kidnapper. So he asks the kidnapper to take the girl back to Pakistan. Deepesh got killed while having a fight with the kidnapper.
The scenes in the beginning of the movie are shot in Pakistan, I liked, that guy Dev Patel, he's British, so he must have gotten a Pakistani visa, but other shots which involve Radhika Apte and Jim Sarbh are shot in India, because obviously they wouldn't have Pakistani visa.
I think Bollywood producers should shot the scenes related to Pakistan in Pakistan, as much as possible. So to show the actual scenes of Pakistan, not making fake Pakistani areas and people as it's usually done in Bollywood movies.
While being underground using different passports and different identities and hiding in different cities, they went to Jaipur and then to Goa. By the time, they really got intimate with each other. But one night, while Jay was sleeping, the kidnapper guy, Samira leaves him sleeping and goes out on the scooty by herself and goes very far, and calls him in the morning I'm sorry. It felt like an abrupt ending, but okay. It didn't have a lot of action and drama, it's just a simple movie.
One more thing i noticed, that Radhika Apte wasn't hiding her chest and his lower back in some shots, and that's a very bold thing to do. It doesn't happen usually.
Designated Survivor (2016)
A President made in an emergency
"Designated Survivor"
In this series, you see after the capitol was attacked by some terrorists, a lot of people including the president of the US, died in that building crash. Afterwards, Tom was appointed as US president, as he became president in a critical and sensitive situation of the country, he faced a lot of opposition and criticism.
Peter MacLeish, who once went to Afghanistan with some other army personnel to do some operation or something like that, in 2005, later on, investigation shows he had also shot civilians, women, and children. And that's something he hides, also his surviving in the capitol bombing, raises suspicion to the FBI and other people. He allies with some bad guys, so he may become the president. But he dies because of being a part of all this mess.
Tom as the president, who is also a good man, manages all of this in a very nice and easy way. The FBI agent got his son kidnapped and killed by the people who may have been involved in the capitol bombing.
I always wonder how cool it always would be to make such movies, you know, the president, all of that protocol and GMC cars, and other cars like suburban. It would be amazing to be a part of such movies, the president having the codename of phoenix.
Previously, i have also watched the series "Salvation", which also has a lot of drama and tension while saving earth from being hit by an asteroid.
Season 2: Tom's wife dies in a car accident, it becomes hard for Tom to get over it. FBI agent Forstel also dies in a blast. Seth has an affair with Emily, and a new person Lyor has got a job in White House.
Tom Kirkman has started having some tension with former president Moss in one way or another. This series is long by the way, each episode of 45 minutes. So it's really slow paced.
I didn't like that homosexuality thing in the third season, Tom Kirkman also was elected a second time as the prime minister. By the way, i feel like the ending was very abrupt.
Testament: The Story of Moses (2024)
A best series on prophet Moses
Testament: The Story of Moses
This series has become one of my favourite ones, it shows the story of prophet Moses from his birth till his death. It has three episodes, each of one and a half hours long.
He was born in Egypt, and was brought into the house of Pharaoh of that time, adopted by Pharaoh's daughter. When he grew up, he moved to the area of Midian, and lived there for many years. Then God sends him a message to go back to Egypt and ask Pharaoh to let the Hebrews go back to their homeland Canaan, that's where they are from.
Moses did as God said, in short, after all, Pharaoh had to let them go. Pharaoh died in between the sea.
Great series, i think they should make series on other prophets of God too. But make series, not movies, because such stories can only be represented in series easily. The series shows great hard work of Moses and his putting up with hardships and strictness of Pharaoh.
The VFX is great in the series, it's in the English language. Only three episodes, go watch it and write a review of it here.
Red Eye (2005)
Not a great movie
Red Eye
This movie casts Cillian Murphy, Brian Cox and Rachel McAdams. The story is about a girl who is flying to meet her dad, during a flight she meets a man who threatens her about killing her dad.
She treats it wisely, and makes it safely to her home. This movie was released in 2005, obviously the movie is not very appealing to watch. They have tiny Nokia phones which have buttons on them, because technology wasn't that great back then. The movie is very simple, if you like high sound and video effects and green screen effects and things like that, then i don't think you're gonna like to watch it.
It's one and a half hours long, available on Netflix. I just watched it because i had downloaded it mistakenly. Movies have really improved since the 2010s.
Merry Christmas (2024)
An ordinary murder by an ordinary girl
Merry Christmas
A woman named Maria with a little daughter, kills her husband Jerome. And she meets a man named Albert outside who accompanies her to her home and later he realises that she is the one who killed her husband. Albert is the man who was in jail for the last seven years on murder charges of her girlfriend. He was released on Christmas Eve, and happened to meet that woman Maria.
The movie is slow paced, and it's just a murder on Christmas Eve thing. That's all. Simple and short and straight movie. More like a murder mystery. Saw Katrina after a while in a movie, still remember her from the Welcome movie. She still looks very young.
Farzi (2023)
Money is everything, Dope Series
Farzi
Sunny and his friend Feroz were adopted by Sunny's maternal grandfather after his father left him at a railway station and ran away because of his involvement in dark things.
Meanwhile a team is formed to tackle counterfeiting, they make a machine called CT600 which can detect fake notes, but installing that machine at as much as possible places is a difficult task.
No matter that counterfeiting is a serious and dark crime, but it is something that happens, and will happen, and it can't be stopped. Because obviously such crimes are done in a very organized and underground type manner, moreover, they have support of different kinds. So trying to stop it is just like beating about in the bush.
Shahid Kapoor is a great hero, i saw that guy named Feroz in this series for the first time in Shuddh Desi Romance with Sushant Singh Rajput in 2013. He's funny, he acts funny.
This series is great, its song Paisa Hai To, is the most liked song from this series. So sunny had this idea of printing fake notes to avoid going bankrupt, but soon, underworld people get to know his work and grab him.
The series is adventurous, it has 8 episodes, each episode of around 1 hour long. Counterfeiting directly affects the economy of a country, and many other problems are associated with it.
This is one of my most favourite series of all time.
Animal (2023)
An animal movie
Animal
Thrill, action, shooting, anger, fury and all, a lot of that it has. The last scene of slaughtering Abrar is totally unnecessary, it could have been easily a bullet shot or something like that. I wonder how it may have been approved by the censor board.
Anyway, I'm gonna rate it very less than I expected. It is too long, around 3 and a half hours long, which i completed in around 5 hours, taking breaks, and watching it on Netflix. Ranbir was just looking like an animal in that act, it is fierce.
I always wonder, how the hell hero manages to escape from hundreds of gunmen and not having a single bullet touching his body, just a scratch or something like that, just that. How, the hell how.
So this is so so over exaggerating, but okay, overall, it's a movie. Anything can happen in a movie.
Murder Mubarak (2024)
Pretending Elites and a murder
Murder Mubarak
A guy named Leo was killed by a girl, probably a member of Royal Delhi Club, RDC. It was a club of rich people, who paid millions of rupees to get its membership.
Leo used to blackmail everyone to get some money from them or anything like that. Pankaj Tripathi did the role of police in this movie, as ACP. He always acts so seriously, and he's so much into the character that his acting seems so real and not dramatized.
At the end, ACP finds out that murder has been done by Bambi, who is (Sara Ali Khan). She also kills Guppie Ram Ji, and she confesses it.
It has fun and a little bit of suspense, and it's like a murder mystery. Go watch if you haven't already. It's available on Netflix.
Indian Predator: Murder in a Courtroom (2022)
Justice in women's hands
Indian Predator: Murder in a Courtroom
Akku Yadav, an animal like a criminal who was a rapist, a killer, a murderer, a thief, a dacoit, was killed by several women in the courtroom on the day when he was to be presented to court.
He had caused so much pain in that area of Kasturba Nagar, Nagpur. People did their level best to get justice, but it was useless. Finally, people decide to take justice forcefully. And they kill them and they're very happy with that. All of them were acquitted.
What else could be the solution to it, people did what was supposed to be done. And that's not wrong, people have the right to get justice if they're not getting it the right way.
It had never been easy for them to tolerate him.
Indian Predator: The Diary of a Serial Killer (2022)
Definition of a monster
Indian Predator: The Diary of a Serial Killer
A guy named Ram Niranjan who had changed his name to Raja Kolander, from Kol community, who committed the most heinous crime by killing 14 people allegedly. Firstly, he killed a journalist, after the investigation at his farm house, police recovered a diary named Raja's Diary which shows he had also killed 13 others. He also cut their body parts and spread them at different locations in the city.
I always wonder how brutal a human being can be, why. But later on, after the arrest, he continues to deny all the allegations against him. He is still spending his time in jail in Uttar Pradesh.
He also ate the bodies of people he killed, and boiled their brains and intestines and drank it like soup. Because he felt like he would get the powers and abilities of those dead people, which is totally a psychopathic behaviour, no doubt in that.
Although charges of cannibalism against him were not proven, he along with his wife Phoolan Devi and his brother in law, are in jail for life imprisonment.
Beast of Bangalore: Indian Predator (2022)
A monster with a fetish
Indian Predator: Beast of Bangalore
A guy from a village in Karnataka, lives in Bangalore, and has a weird kind of fetish of collecting women's undergarments, his name was Umesh Reddy. He also attacked many women and assaulted them sexually. One of those women became mentally disturbed, she couldn't even say anything in her defense.
Later on, the court acquits him in most of those cases on the basis of lack of proper evidence. The evidence police found through investigation wasn't acceptable in court and the kind of evidence the court wanted could not be made available. During investigation and trial, he was successful in escaping many times from police's custody.
He gets a death sentence but finally it gets converted to life imprisonment and he is still behind bars.
Indian Predator: The Butcher of Delhi (2022)
A butcher in reality
Indian Predator: The Butcher Of Delhi
A man Chandrakant Jha from Bihar migrates to Delhi and lives a simple life. He committed several murders by literally slaughtering people over the course of many years.
Most of his murders went undetected, mostly because of insufficient modern ways of investigation at that time. He kills many people brutally, and now he is spending his life imprisonment in Tihar jail of Delhi.
Such brutal and heinous crimes make us realize how much negativity is filled in our world. We should be good human beings.
I think, in case of murders, the convicted must be hanged. No life imprisonment and nothing like that is suited for such a person who doesn't have anything human in him.
Maamla Legal Hai (2024)
Clash between two lawyers
Maamla Legal Hai
VD Tiyagi who is a lawyer, loses elections of the Bar Association against Phorey. A girl named Ananya Shroff who has done LLM from Harvard University comes there for practice.
VD Tyagi has two assistants named law and order. This series has 8 episodes, each around half an hour long on average, and it's easy to watch such a series which has not more than half hour long episodes each. It has fun and humour, which you will like.
In the end, VD Tyagi is offered to become a judge. Which he decides to deny initially, but finally after some thoughts he accepts the offer.
They also show monkeys are a serious problem in Delhi and they snatch belongings and go away. Once they say a monkey fled with a bag of thousands of rupees of cash and climbs up a tree and pours it over the ground. I also got to know from this series, that monkeys are afraid of Langoors, i don't know if that's really the case but that's interesting to know by the way.
This is worth watching, go watch it if you haven't already. And do write a review after that for others.
Caught Out: Crime. Corruption. Cricket (2023)
Cricket fixing
Caught Out: Crime. Corruption. Cricket.
This documentary shows links of some former Indian cricketers with bookies for fixing matches which involve names of Muhammad Azharuddin and Kapil Dev and Ajay Sharma etc. It is not possible that a cricketer who apparently has a good reputation and respect in sight of the public may not be involved in match fixing and anything like that. It may be totally possible at any point of his career.
But BCCI finally after years, declared these players either innocent even when there has been evidence found against them. Muhammad Azharuddin and Kapil Dev were declared clean. But Ajay Sharma and Manoj Prabhakar faced a ban.
No doubt, match fixing is a very dirty thing. Because the whole nation is looking forward to players and they have their sentiments attached to them. Any such thing can really really disappoint the general public.
They say since 2012, there has always been an anti corruption team with the cricket team so they may not be involved in fixing. God knows the rest. But watching a match doesn't make sense if it's fixed.
The spontaneity and unpredictability is the beauty of cricket, and any other game in fact.
Mumbai Mafia: Police vs the Underworld (2023)
Underworld of Mumbai
Mumbai Mafia: Police vs The Underworld
I agree with Pradeep Sharma, why and how it matters how gangsters are treated, they're neutralised, that's all. In the ending he says, when crime surges, higher authorities grant you freedom of your control, when crime goes down, you're thrown away.
This movie shows how Mumbai Police deals with gangsters, terrorists and others from the underworld. Riots, shootouts, snatching, robbery etc, all of these evils are like termites to a society.
It should not matter how evil is eradicated, evil is eradicated somehow, that's all that should matter.
I still haven't been able to understand the fact that why, just why, why evil human beings do evil things, what good and relief they feel in doing so, just whattt. But it is what it is, God has created both good and evil. Evil isn't gonna leave this world till the resurrection day.
Curry & Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case (2023)
An extremely dangerous woman
Curry and Cyanide - The Jolly Joseph Case
A woman who was married in Kerala, first killed her mother in law in 2002, then her father in law in 2008, and then after some time, she killed her husband, all with the poison cyanide.
This movie is about that, a real story. Jolly's sister in law files a case against her and she exhumes the bodies of her parents and her brother for forensics and cyanide presence in their bodies. Although at the end of the movie, it says that only two of the bodies were detected to have cyanide, but i believe she actually is the one who is responsible for all the deaths.
It's a question, why, why a human drops to this level of brutality. Just why, such heinous things don't suit a human being. But evil is evil, and evil is gonna stay forever.
Jolly is still under trial in a jail in Kerala. And her children live with their aunt now. None of the family members or neighbours or their relatives had any kind of suspicion on her, because she insisted on not to go for postmortem and all that, she would be caught if postmortem had been done when she did this for the first time by killing her mother in law in 2002.
Lesson is that, keep your eyes everywhere. Anything can happen anywhere. And do postmortem, even if you don't feel like you should do it.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
An unrealistically real Dinosaur movie
Jurassic World: Dominion
Maisie who is the daughter of a single parent, her mother who gave birth to her without a father. The Jurassic Park movie series is very old, i was a kid back then when i used to watch Jurassic Park.
The dinosaurs and Trex and all that stuff, which i think i was introduced to about dinosaurs because of the Jurassic Park movie series. Although in reality there's no such thing as dinosaurs and any concept of dinosaurs being alive in this era.
All of the dinosaurs went extinct almost 65 million years ago, when a great asteroid hit our earth. So no dinosaurs exist after that. Jurassic Park is a movie series which reminds many of their childhood memories.
I instantly recognised that Doctor who gave an access card to both of them who went into that basement to collect a sample of locusts. The VFX is great in it, but sometimes you can easily tell that this is all computer generated.
After all, the idea of dinosaurs being alive or anything like that is terrifying as hell. 9 April is the last day to watch it on Netflix, so i had to watch it today before it went.
