[Rec] (2007)
Waste of time
When I see a movie at a cinema, I usually come back satisfied. Even if the movie sucks, the whole experience in the big screen makes the money well spent.
This was not the case, and for the first time in many years, I felt I lost 1h30 of my life, and I wish I could get my money back. I feel I DESERVE to get my money back, actually.
The hole movie is a complete rip-off, some kind of Blair Witch meets Cloverfield, but with nothing positive in it. I mean... how many movies have we seen that consist in "misterious virus that makes people irrationally aggressive"? This one just picks up an already too old storyline and adds nothing new to it.
I've seen many viewers praise the "scare-scenes"... I found them completely predictable, and absolutely none of them were really that scary. I like to be scared in movies, I actually seek the ones who do that, and many succeed. This one does not. They were so obvious, so cliché... it actually makes it revolting.
The acting is not the worst part, but I can't consider it good. I've seen many good Spanish acting, and considering the awards this one got, I thought I would see some in here. But I didn't. The biggest disappointment was Manuela Velasco... but then again, it was not the worst part.
Overall, a deep negative rating for this one. One of the worst movies I've ever seen, and one of the few I actually regret having spent time to see it.
Date Movie (2006)
Worst of the worst
I kind of like movie parodies. I've watched all four scary movies, and in spite of not being a masterpiece, they can make you smile or even laugh a few times. That's not the case of Date Movie. In this entire movie there was not a single moment that I found funny. The spoofs are ridiculous, the gags are stupid and the acting... well, the acting just isn't there. There is no storyline, the movie just goes jumping from one spoof to another, and there isn't anything worthwhile.
Every bad movie has it's fans, which proves the subjectivity of the movie industry. But this is not the case with Date Movie. I don't think that one single person has enjoyed this movie, not even the actors that star in it. I just can't understand why would a movie studio spend a single cent in this. And i'm sorry that I spent money in renting it.
Don't spend time watching this. Sitting alone in a room looking at the walls will be more interesting and more funny than watching Date Movie. If you already seen it, well, then i'm sorry you wasted an hour and a half of your life with it, as I did.
By far the worst movie ever, in all aspects.
O Ninja das Caldas (2001)
Incredibiliy Stupid, Still Funny
I think the other comment here is quite unfair to this movie. This is not supposed to be serious, this is not supposed to be a real movie. This was just a joke a few friends made with their own camcorders. Just by accident, someone on a Portuguese channel (Sic Radical) found out about this, and decided to air it. The cult was then born.
You can't actually say the special effects are bad, as there aren't any. The mysterious cloud of smoke that appears when the master ninja comes up is so obviously a pack of flour thrown from a nearby tree - you can actually see the package falling as well... the "evil robots" are the same guys inside card boxes...
the script is bad? well, if there would be a script, it would be bad, yes... but as far as i know, there was no script at all! This is just the kind of movie we all wished we could do back when we were kids, with our friends, just for the fun. It cannot be taken seriously, as it isn't a "real movie".
Still, for those who can find it, see it. Only in Portuguese, but a few laughters are guaranteed for sure!
Braveheart (1995)
Powerful Masterpiece
I can't really understand why there are people that don't find Braveheart a true masterpiece. Are they english? I've heard that the english people haven't liked this movie very much... Well, I believe that is nonsense. I loved Braveheart, not for the quality of the direction, production, or what so ever. This is a powerfull movie because of what it stands for. What would one do for his beliefs? It's not just a movie. It makes you think: "How far would you go for what you love an believe?" How far would you go for freedom? The actors' interpretations are excellent. I can never forget the look in Wallace's eyes when he saw he'd been betraied. The passion with which he fought. The passion, the will, the power... that granted Scotland's freedom. For me, this is one of the best movie ever. I recommend as well Ridley Scott's GLADIATOR, starring Russel Crowe.
