Gekijouban Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (2021)
Great Intro into JJK
Ok so I just started watching JJK this week to prepare for the movie. However due to school, I haven't really been able to watch it and am only on episode 7 at the time I'm writing this. Coming out of my IMAX theater...
Let me tell you, this movie is super easy to follow, even just a few episodes wouldn't really make a difference. Give it a watch with friends or family (or both), and trust me they'll (probably and hopefully) love it too!
The movie is beautifully animated as well, with some of the best animation, cinematography, and choreography I've seen in anime. The movie also has it's funny moments here and there. I definitely recommend it to any new anime fan, anime fan in general, and friends who just wanna have a good time. MUST DO FOR JJK FANS! SEE IT IN THE THEATER IN IMAX!
Boku no hîrô akademia THE MOVIE - Hîrôzu: Raijingu (2019)
Truly Plus Ultra!!!
This film is personally (I said personally mind you) one of my favorite animated films of all time and I think it is truly one of the best anime films out there. This film is truly plus ultra (especially over Two Heroes which only got a 7.5/10 from me). There is a lot to love about it, especially for an MHA fan (such as myself). The film does a great job with the characters as every student gets the spotlight at some point in defeating the villains and the final act alone earns this movie a 10/10. Deku and Bakugo (my favorite and third favorite characters) go through character development that ultimately strengthen them and their relationship. The film is also really easy for anyone to watch, as it does a good job of balancing the things maybe some people haven't watched yet or just already know and don't need the exact thing to be explained to them all over again. Something I really like about the film is the idea that the students are on an island far from any pro heroes to help them. It sets up a tension early as it lets the audience know that whatever happens they must resolve it on their own, and it really showcases how far Deku and the class have come since the first season. I think the best part of this movie is the final act, as it ultimately develops Bakugo's character and in a way even Deku's. I won't go into spoilers but it was very cool and some of the best animation up to this point in the franchise. One minor issue some may have with the film is the fact that Nine (even though I thought he was a cool villain) is that he resembles All for One. A lot. However, I think it works for the movie, as Deku and none of the other students ever faced All for One, instead it was All Might. This in turn gives the class a threat higher than what they've faced before, and it ultimately showcases just how stronger everyone else has become since the first season of the anime (going back to what I said earlier). There really is no issue with this movie, maybe other than the villains not having any development or backstory and what I thought was just a bit of an underwhelming payoff for Katsuma (the little boy in the film), making this one of my favorite anime and animated films, and either my favorite film of 2019 (since it released in Japan that year) or 2020 (released in the states). One thing is for sure though, this movie really made me yell plus ultra by the time it was done, satisfying the big MHA fan I am.
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
My All Time Favorite Movie!
I've always been a huge Star Wars fan for as long as I can remember. I was always invested in the world and the characters and the story. I can definitely say as a Star Wars fan this is the best movie of the franchise. Darth Vader is as memorable as ever, including that dramatic jaw dropping moment when he tells Luke he is his father, leading it to be one of cinema's most memorable moments and probably my favorite movie moment! The movie opens up with the planet Hoth and an assault on the rebels, marking yet another marvel of cinema. This movie is my favorite because it's got the most memorable quotes, characters from Darth Vader to Luke Skywalker to the introduction of Yoda and Lando, and incredible cinematic moments that are still remembered and awed at to this very day!
