Count Me In (2021)
I'll say this about that
I will venture to say, based solely on my viewing of the film. None of the creators, directors, producers; have ever played the drums.
There are two types of drummers. Those that are attracted to playing drums at a young age, take drum lessons, learn to read drum sheets, play drums in school bands, create a band with their buds and the few that take it to the next level and become icons of the drumming world.
And those that, as some in this film, are bestowed a drum set for whatever reason, birthday, Xmas, who knows why- (see the film). And bang around on the drums, keep rhythm and do ok making a lot of noise and imitate what other serious drummers of doing, whit no originality.
Both have significant contributions, but seriously good drumming comes from the former.
Drumming isn't about speed strokes, double base, and the ever ridiculous drum solo. This film, whenever they spotlighted a drummer - showcased drum solo from said drummer, Which is complete rubbish.
Drumming is rhythm and timing, the beat.
To talk about John Bonham and then feature a crap drum solo from him is a travesty. I agree that he was clearly a singular talent at drumming and the early comments on this were spot on. The boom base, without the damping - nobody did that and he rocked it.
Try listening to 'fool in the rain'; if you are talking about john bonham- you play 'fool in the rain'
Listen to Meg White. She provided rhythm that rocked with guitar - no base necessary - and killed it.
Super Tanker (2011)
What did they expect?
Once the electromagnetic containment matrix was lost and they initiated the hard reset, combined with the wildly varying frequency modulation; the only option was to superimpose a secondary containment matrix over top of the first failed matrix . . . duh.
The Love Witch (2016)
what's not to like
You're out of line Griff . . . way out of line! That line alone makes it
The Work Wife (2019)
I LOVE THIS KIND OF STUFF
It's like reading a comic book compared to a novel. No thinking, no twist, straight forward crazy woman at work. It doesn't get any better.
