Resident Evil (2022)
People on here whining about things we were told 12 months ago
Yes the script and story have obvious issues. The plot is guilty of paint by numbers use of Chekhov's Gun, and a force feeding of diversity.
But to the people complaining about the story barely resembling a Resident Evil game are well behind the times. We were very clearly informed in mainstream media more than a year ago about the plot and cast. We were told it was a departure from the various game plots. We were told it would run two concurrent time lines of present day and the future. If you went into this expecting a different story than the one you got, then more fool you.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021)
The Film I Wanted
As a 13 year old I played the original 2 games, and as a 37 year old I still haven't stopped.
This film is one that most people will get some enjoyment out of, but to people like me it's perfection.
The subtle nods to the original PlayStation games are ever present, as are nods to the GameCube remaster of the original, and the more resent remaster on the PS4 of the second game.
From the reference to a Jill Sandwich to Richard being asked if he'd prefer to be eaten whole by a huge snake or a giant shark. It was crystal clear Johannes had played the games, and effectively incorporated Easter eggs with what made them scary.
If you didn't just play the games, but replayed them over and over again for decades this is must see.
Fart (2005)
It's the silence that is most deadly
May as well have called this film King Kong, there are as many giant apes in this film as there are farts, and that is 0. I did think that perhaps all of the farts are silent, but the making of documentary made no mention of this. Highly disappointed, fans of farts need not waste their time.
