Stowaway (2021)
It could have been as good as "Gravity" but it wasnt.
There are elements that made this movie easy to the eyes but hard for the brain. I went through the movie with a lot of whys and they-could-haves, I almost wanted to stop watching. But very good acting from the cast, and visuals are eye candies. It cant save the movie though from that unpleasant feeling you get toward the end. The physics are okay, I felt it was well thought and executed. Production design was superb. Musical score is also good. But I feel there are a lot of logical nightmares in the storyline itself that you had to endure throughout, especially the conflicting emotions you tend to feel toward the stowaway. Its one of those movies you wished there is a sequel for to somehow resolve that uncomfortable feeling you get after watching.
Kateo (2022)
Good plot, bad cinematography, bad acting.
Not sure what they were trying to achieve with the camera angles and movement but 40 minutes into the film, I almost puked and had to stop watching. Its like Blair Witch Project. They could have settled for a conventional and smooth cinematography, but no. They seem to want to achieve something but failed. The intolerable cruelty of sacrificing viewer welfare by tormenting us with dizzying camera movements is unforgivable. The desperate attempt to stitch scenes and create a continuous shot was unsuccessful, it made me want to puke. And the American and Korean extras' acting especially during action scenes? Insufferable.
Good plot and action sequences though. But no, wont go back to finish the film.
The Gray Man (2022)
Good film, not so good ending though.
Good performances from Chris and Ana, but Ryan is quite dry and lacks depth as a hero. I like many aspects of the film but the ending didnt satisfy that itch you feel as the story develops. Leaves some metallic taste in the tongue. Exceptional directing job for the Russo brothers, they didn't disappoint. I recommend this film.

Welcome back, Nic!
Nice movie, good acting esp from Nicolas Cage. He should at least get an Oscar nomination for this.
