Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Thanks Russo Brothers for destroying the MCU
This is the saddest review I have ever had to write. After the culmination of all the films and the Snap at the end of Avengers Infinity Wars they blew it. Fat Thor was funny for about 5 minutes then was just annoying, the Hulk was reduced to a joke quite frankly with none of his anger just stupid glasses. Most of the characters didn't get a look an and the first half of the film was just annoying. When the final fight does happen it is so unrealistic, with characters having bonding sessions as aliens and superheros were fighting all around them. Captain Marvel was in the film for about 10 seconds and destroyed the aliens so easily she made the rest of the characters redundant.
If the Russo Brothers had spent less time trying to get their friends and family cameo roles and more time trying to make the film we deserved it would have been a good thing. I am so disappointed in this movie it has left me heartbroken at the untimely end to what was one of my favorite film series ever.
It is a mess, the time travel was nonsensical, action was limited and the trademark humor was missing.
I have no idea what the writers and directors were thinking.
Oh and Iron Man dies
Fanged Up (2017)
Awful film, truly dire
I watched an early screening of this film and was amazed how bad it was. I don't often write reviews on IMDB but this film was so bad I thought I had better warn people about it. The main guy can't act and has no charisma whatsoever, the "plot" is scrappy and makes no sense. The best thing about it was it finished but then I felt I wanted to kill myself after having sat through such rubbish.
Interstellar (2014)
I wanted to like this film
This movie really disappointed me. I liked Christopher Nolan's films and made sure I read very little about this before I went to see it. It is ultimately about a man who loves his children. You can tell he loves his children because he never stops going on about them. He runs the full gamut of emotions showing his love for his kids like a deranged single mother on Facebook constantly posting "Like if you love your children" Anyway he goes on a space mission and leaves his beloved children to save the world. Whilst in space he discovers a fat Matt Damon who has apparently run out of provisions, judging by the size of him I found that hard to believe. The film looked and sounded great but I couldn't get over the man constantly moaning and thought the ending was a bit obvious and ripped off 2001 and Contact. The best bit was when fat Matt Damon died.
Blood (2012)
Awful movie, lots of crying
I was unlucky enough to watch this dire movie last night. Lots of horrible unlikeable people being not very nice. The story is simple enough about two brothers who are on the police force who murder and bury an innocent man. Paul Bettany plays the eldest of the brothers and spends the rest of the movie freaking out and crying, he has no charisma and just comes over as a stupid man. The usually dependable Brian Cox plays Bettany's father an ex policeman who is suffering from dementia and likes bacon sandwiches. It is because of his boasting that the two brothers become murderers but you are never sure why they did it in this case. I only watched this movie out of spite because I paid to watch it. If you have the chance, don't bother.
Deadline (2009)
Awful awful movie,
Why did they make this film? Brittany Murphy looks as though she is about to die (and she did) and the story makes no earthly sense. Rather than be alone in a flat Brittany Murphy decides to be alone in the world's most scary house because she is scared of her ex boyfriend. This alone is a stupid premise and should tip one off as to what a stupid stupid film this is. Some ghostly goings on in the house on the first night she stays there do not deter her from staying in the morbid mansion because she has a "Deadline" to complete, some book or other. Who cares what happens to her? Who cares about the subplot involving her flatmate? Not any sane person I can think of would enjoy in any way this dismal excuse for a film.
Wanted (2008)
awful, complete waste of time
I do not know where to start with how bad this movie is. The premise of weavers forming an elite group of assassins is about as realistic as bakers forming an elite parachuting group because the writing was "in the danish pastries". It tries badly to emulate the Matrix and Fight Club and ends up insulting both. Lets start with the main character, a dull insipid little man with seemingly no control over his own life whose dad was an elite weaver/assasain and left him when he was born (probably because he was embarrassed by the sheer mediocrity of his offspring). Then there is Angelina Joile as "Fox" poorly written and acted with no apparent explanation of her actions, she just wanders around looking cool until she shoots herself in the head (thank goodness). Morgan Freeman used to be one of my favourite actors until he starred in this film. Special effects and big bangs do not make a movie and I hope that everyone in this film never makes another one. Truly awful I would rather rip my eyes out than watch this again.
Rogue (2007)
Awful,Dire a terrible movie
I watched this film largely because of reviews read on IMDb. To say I was disappointed does not do this movie justice. There are a group of tourists going deep into Australia, a few different characters with their own motives and flaws. Usually in films such as this they get picked off one by one in various gory ways. Not so in this film, hardly any of them die and when they do it is so quick you miss it! Then about 3/4 the way through the film they are all saved and even the irritating fat woman survives. I feel I have to spoil this movie so no-one else has to endure the sheer tedium of watching it. Whoever directed this film made it clear that Australia is a beautiful place but thats for tourism videos NOT horror movies. I would advise anyone to bang their head against a wall repeatedly rather than watch this film.
Today You Die (2005)
Good Segal action, and no mistake
This film is what would happen if Steven Segal starred in "Prison Break" That is to say he would escape in about 10 minutes and have all the bad guys dead in about an hour and a half. There is some terrible acting from the lady who plays his wife/lover and an unintelligible subplot about how shes scared of "demons" The film does not bother to let you know whats going on and makes little sense, but that does not detract from the nice cars and wonderful performance by Treach as the worlds most trusting and gullible prison inmate. I still have no idea what he did or did not do with the money that he stole at the start, or who the incredibly smug bloke was who got blown up in his helicopter, but he certainly deserved it just for his smugness.
Revenge of Billy the Kid (1991)
Angry goat thing
This is one of the greatest films ever made about country life. There is no doubt in my mind that it has been well researched and takes realism to a whole new level. I think Ron Howard would be a good candidate for a director should a remake be made. The action is laid back and cleverly reflects country life as it is today. I strongly recommend this film to all those who are pro hunting as it makes a great argument for country life and how it should be left to its own ways.Billy the Kid is not just about cowboys in the wild west and at the same time is far superior to films like Brokeback mountain, which this viewer found a little hard to swallow.I would love to see a sequel even though the name suggests that this is a sequel itself! Well done to everyone involved especially the bloke who played the farmer who started all the mayhem
