You People (2023)
Movie was ridiculous!
If I have to hear or watch something about race again, I'm going to scream. Yes they did try to joke with it, like the Jews had it harder no black people had harder, but it fell flat. At one point of the movie Jonah hill offers his fiancé a job because she didn't get the job on her own. She flips out and goes On about how she's black and that's such an insult! Are you kidding me? Maybe your work sucked and that's why you didn't get the job, because every race gets jobs these days, especially how you can sue the company if they don't give you the job based on your race. Then she gets mad her fiancé offered her a job, I would have thanked him and took the job offer, because a white male is trying to help you. It makes a difference? Or just your loving fiancé trying to make you happy. It's things like that in the movie that were so stupid to me. Then making fun of the Jewish mother because she didn't know that the daughter in law friends wore wigs. Well, I would have been shocked too if someone's hair caught on my shirt and ripped off their head. I get Jonah hill is a liberal and was trying to create a big issue, but when the comedy isn't there and Jonah hill is literally just blinking the entire time in confusion. His fiancé( Lauren) gets offended by anything the mother says, she's from a different time, ofcourse she doesn't get your culture. Don't put her down for it, just talk to her instead of constantly belittling her. I really thought with this cast it would have been so much funnier but it wasn't even close. Jonah Hills best friend in the movie is a black woman who's gay, I doubt he's racist at all, but they still have to make him look stupid. Things like that in the movie made no sense. Black and white people have been marrying each other for centuries, atleast put some hard core humor in it. Not cringy parts, that you literally can't even watch it. At the end of the movie, I was like wtf did I just watch?! Oh they actually stuck a republican in there, talking about how he stormed the capitol and how vaccines make you gay. Like come on, are you kidding me! I hated the whole podcast thing in the movie too, that people can literally make a living talking about pointless things in life. Does anyone actually want a real job these days, how liberal can you get in the movie with absolutely no comedy!
Ghostland (2018)
This was good!
I'm surprised this didn't her higher ratings, I saw dumber movies. That got 100%, I don't get who scores these movies. Anyways this was actually really good and scary. I love scary movies about abductions and torture and that's exactly what it is. I even loved that twist in the movie, I really didn't expect that. I also get it because I would do the same, if I was in that situation. This definitely should have been scored higher and definitely underrated. I watched it twice, there was never a dull moment. Maybe it's today society, but long ago this movie would have been top. It's a home invasion mixed with murder and kidnapping/torture. By these 2 weirdos in a candy truck. I thought the acting was great, the girls were great. I didn't get bored once!
The Voyeurs (2021)
I really enjoyed it!
I thought the movie was extremely good. I mean who hasn't gotten an obsession with a neighbor and their life. Especially if they were as hot as this guy in the movie. The 2 main couples are kind of nerdy and boring and get to experience neighbors, that are artists, eccentric and gorgeous. I mean I could relate to pippa on that, especially since her boyfriend wasn't the charming masculine type. Some neighbors do get way too involved and spy on each other. Like I said the whole movie, even the sexual parts were amazing. It kept me entertained and I didn't want too miss a part. But the ending pissed me off, yes it's a twist. But it's a stupid twist. Like how did Pippa carry them out, after she destroyed their eyes? You can't just leave 2 people blind, in your place of work. Also what if the boyfriend didn't decide to come home at that exact time and see Pippa with the hot artist? What if he never came back? Or came back the next day? The fact he just strolls in, the night Pippa finally sleeps with her obsession and he takes a sip of that green water. What if he didn't drink that water? Like I said it would have been a really great movie, except with that ending. Then it turns into he was poison? Ok but what if their plan didn't work out like that? That's the part that makes me nuts. Yes I loved how they were watching them the whole time, because I had a feeling. But it went too far! I still think it was a great watch and I will probably watch it again. I loved the obsession and temptation Pippa showed. I really wanted her and the hot artist to end up together.
Mope (2019)
This was surprisingly good
I was flipping through channels, bored with every movie on. Even though I have every channel to man kind. So I just left this movie mopes on. Not expecting much but it just was left on, so I could play on my phone. I thought it was stupid lame low budget film. Then I actually got into it. It's not raunchy sex stuff the entire time. It's about 2 best friends who want to be famous and make it in the porn business. They get picked up after begging by a low budget porn directors. Who pays them by allowing them to stay at crappy warehouse, take abuse and some sex scenes with these gross girls. But it gets interesting when they do have a chance and Steve impresses the director with his sword tricks. But Steve ends up blowing it for him and Tom. Steve has severe mental problems, who has all these great ideas and high hopes. But it's not even reality, he even calls his father a million times. Trying to get him to invest in their own porn company, the father even said he wasn't even big. So why did he even pick porn to make his dream, not to mention we find out Steve had so many other obsessions. He brings Tom along but finally Tom is just fine and happy being at the Mopes studio and working with low budget porn. Tom starts to veer off and do his own thing and Steve still has all these ideas. Even brings in a homeless women into it, to meet his father no less. When his father begs him to come back home because he has mental problems. Steve storms off and also we find out Steve has horrible hygiene and doesn't take showers. Well the ending is so unexpected. Here I am watching a porn star trying to make it with his best friend and he ends up losing it. After Eric does cuckhold video with the homeless women, Steve snaps by all the horrible words they all say to him. Especially his best friend Tom, who he thought they would porn star hero's one day. Then takes his sword and literally attacks everyone and kills Tom. I didn't expect that ending at all and I would watch this movie again. It was extremely interesting and good. I couldn't believe it was based on a true story!
Slasher (2016)
It blew my mind this show! Not what I expected!!!
It's 3 seasons and all of them are different scary stories with a killer on the loose. I have to say the first and third season are my favorites, the second was ok. I thought it was a stupid movie at first about sex, drugs, teens, camp and a Jason look alike. But no it's not like that at all. I didn't know all the seasons were different, with a different scary story and you don't know who the killer is. They kill off people no matter if you like the characters or not, which I personally love. I hate scary movies that let all the good ones live and bad ones die. This is like the opposite, they will literally kill main characters off out of nowhere. You don't even see it coming. Then the whole time you are trying to figure out who the killer is and what is their motive! It was one of the shows I turned on and couldn't stop watching. You think the killer is one guy and the shoes over and all of sudden they come up with more. The killer is still out there and you always find out in the end. Some times you know by the end of the movie, but it's still surprising. The second season had such a good story line, but failed to deliver. With any of the characters being likable. I mean the girl they killed, Kind of deserved it because she ruined all the campers life. Who all befriended and loved her. So I was kind of pissed, that they someone even wanted justice for her. But it was rather the guy they framed. Even wanting to go to the police 5 years later pissed me off. She was a bitch and she kind of killed herself. Then you find out who the slasher is at the end and I was so disappointed. No way a old bi polar mother did all that, 2 personalities or not. I really wish they could have made that one more entertaining. I mean 5 friends who team and get revenge on a girl who ruined their lives. Then have to go back 5 years later to move the body because a gulf course is being built. The killer and the characters could have been more like able and entertaining. I was so bored with that. But the 1st season about the executioner and 3rd season the apartment killer was awesome! I really pray they make a 4th one. This is nothing like scream queens or scream. This is more like American horror story but done better. So glad I found this Jem because I hate tv shows. Very few I actually like on Netflix. I just had to write about this show because it's not what I expected at all. I mean they will literally kill every character on the show, I just love it. None of that fake we have to keep so and so alive because everyone loves them. Also the killings are so sick and done so well. How they kill people is awesome, I know it sounds bad. But it's not just like a man running around with a knife. It's more than that and each story the killer does the killings in such gruesome unexpected ways. The hot coffee in the throat, the snakes thrown in a ditch with a guy who broke his leg stuck in it, a women tied to a cylinder block that gets thrown in the lake, being poison, being burned on fire, stabbing eyes out, beating people to death. I mean it's one of the most interesting horror stories I ever watched and a must see for horror fans!
Nerve (2016)
This is one of my favorite movies
I love how they go to the dark web with nerve and no one can even get out unless you bail or fail. The concept is awesome. I can't stand Emma Roberts but she did good playing the awkward teenager who can't get a bf but is smart. James Franco character was great and he's of course gorgeous and I love Sydney a lot also. I felt her character made the movie interesting. I never got bored once and I love watching all the dares! I felt this was a really good movie that was underrated! I like how this game is on the dark web and not controlled by one crazy villain, but just kids who want to be entertained. I love the crazy hackers that shut down the game in the end. I just got confused how Sydney was able to call Machine Gun Kelly, when I phone dropped and was smashed. I don't know anyone's number without my phone, especially a person I just met. Other than that, I felt this movie was great and interesting and no too full of technology. But based on a girl who was turned down by a guy she loves and then snaps and wants a change! The fact the game can take over your whole life and bank account if you snitch. Is crazy but if you actually watch the movie it make senses and explains it all. I like Sydney and Vee as best friends because that is all girls in high school. You compete with each other but love each other at the same time. I like machine gun Kelly in this a lot too. His character makes you scared of him at first and then like him later on. He's not bad actor. None of these actors were bad at all. Just couldn't stand looking at Emma Roberts extensions. They could have gave her better extensions in the movie. I could tell right away it was fake. But that doesn't make a movie! I even like the soundtrack in this movie. The mother annoyed me alittle, I didn't think she needed to be so much into this because I just wanted to watch the younger actors. But I guess you have to have a mother that worries in a high school movie. I just loved the premises of this movie, the actors, the whole plot and even the ending didn't piss me off. It's a good movie. People who give it bad reviews either don't understand the dark web or didn't actually watch the movie and listen to what people said. Like I said I watched this a million times so I understand it a lot. I'll keep on watching it.
The Dark Red (2018)
I thought it was good!
I don't know why people thought it was boring or drawn out. I was entertained from start to finish! I liked hearing her talk to therapist about her special blood, which she has special powers. There are moments I doubted if she was telling the truth, Because of her blood. People will always be after her and it was actually surprising how she ended up in the mental institution. I was shocked and I liked seeing her relationship with David form. Also people said the ending was predictable, I didn't think so. I was a little anxious to see what was going to happen and if she would ever get her child back. I mean they literally only the child for his blood and kept him indoors 24/7. When Sybil finally takes her son outside, you can see how the baby looked white and doesn't go out to play. They just use him for his special blood for his special powers. I also thought David might intervene and try to take the child away from her. But like he said they will always be looking for her no matter how long it takes because it's a cult of people who look for that particular blood. I actually didn't want her to kill David in the end, yes it was messed up what he did to her. So she had to escape that house then escape the hospital. Then her dr. Had to put her in the institution to help get off the grid, then she had to play along with the therapist. These people cover their tracks so well that Sybil looked like she was making it all up. The therapist tried to believe her but didn't and she had to play along for 9 months. Then get out and start training to get her baby back and form a plan. I mean I would have killed David just on all those facts, but he was actually just a slave who helped the higher leaders capture and impregnate special women! So David really won't go find Sybil or their baby. I also liked how they named her Sybil in the movie based on Sybil who had personality disorder. I actually was surprised how good the movie was and it wasn't boring as people claimed. Good acting, plot and suspenseful!
Not Without My Daughter (1991)
This is one of my favorite movies!
I love this movie and can watch it over and over again! I can't even imagine ever being in situation where I'm in a third world country, don't know the language, food or where the hell I am. Plus I can't even leave because men have a lot of power in Iran! The husband convinces his wife to go visit his family for 2 weeks in Iran, during a war. She is fully against it and then agrees, only to make him happy. Also she gets how he must feel, not being able to see any of his family, even though he chose to move to America and they could always visit him. Anyways they get there and 2 weeks in he gets brainwashed by his family and tells his wife Betty they aren't going back to America. Even though he swore on the Koran and promised her. So she freaks out, tries to persuade his family to let them go and to let Moody take his family back to America. They start yelling in a different language and she runs off crying, scared and in shock! Betty then takes daughter to the American embassy, the women tries to help. But says without passports she can't help them. She also informs Betty that he can legally keep their daughter there because they are married. Even if Betty tries to leave, he can have her arrested, for taking their daughter. She also informs Betty that their are a lot of women who are in the same shoes, they get tricked to go to a different their country. Then are stuck their because of the laws with men and children. Moody starts getting violent with her, especially when she ran off to the embassy to get help! He has up and downs, sometimes I think he gets too much with his family and the Muslim culture and sometimes I think he knows it's a dangerous time. For his daughter and maybe not the best place to live. Now I never said he didn't love his daughter, but he didn't have to go to these extremes. Anyways Betty knows Moody will kill her if she does anything like that again, but she also knows she needs to get her and her daughter out. Boys there get pulled into war at age 9 and up to be decoys and girls get forced to marry. Men have a lot control in Iran and their wives just do what they say because obviously beating your wife is allowed. So now Betty tries to sneak and gain Moody's trust. Which is hard for her because she's constantly being watched and can never leave the house or touch the telephone. She eventually persuades Moody to move in with his cousin or friend because she knows the women sympathizes with her. Not all the Iran's are against Americans and hate Betty. By moving in with the one nice women and her husband, she's allowed to go to the market with her. She also tells her daughter to keep secret so they can get out of there and go back to America. So she tells her daughter to ask a lot of questions with her father, when at the market and around town. How much are buses, cabs? What streets say, where can you find certain things and the daughter does it. As she has her daughter helping her, she finds certain things out herself and even asks the women she lives with now. How much does a pay phone take. She looks for money one day for the pay phone and this man who owns a pants shop, lets her use his. From there he hears her conversation and offers help to cross the border. So her and her daughter can get back to American, but meeting him and his sister is hard. When moody tries to send the daughter to school she starts to cry hysterically because she doesn't know the culture, the wraps they have to wear to cover their hair and the Language. So moody does the right thing and says Betty can sit at the school every day to watch over their daughter, but she will be watched. I forgot about the American women she meets at the Koran school and she feels hope again, then goes to her house for dinner. She knows she's just like but this women won't even try to leave and is too afraid of her husband. She had the same experience as Betty and was forced to get use to the lifestyle. It's like when Iran's come to America and wear wraps around their heads and faces, we all look at them as weird. That's how Americans can be viewed also. So anyway as they are dinner and the women are talking and taking their wraps off their head because it's like 100 degrees and women are forced to cover themselves up. Betty tries to give her a letter and at first the American is scared, but then she said she promises she won't tell her husband and she will do it for her. I guess the husband found out and yells at Betty and tells her that she should be honest with her husband. He throws the letter back at her and she looks over to see his American wife all beaten up because she was trying to mail the letter for Betty. Betty was just relieved he didn't tell moody and also didn't want to live like that other American women. Back to the daughters school, so she sits there every day being watched by the iran women. Finally one comes over to talk and look at her pictures of her father and mother and they seem so happy. They try to help Betty and tell her she can't use the phone but she can bring her daughter to school at 11am every day. So Betty is grateful and now can meet with the Iran man and his sister who own the suit shop. They go over the plans and it's a dangerous route no matter what, but she would literally rather die than have her daughter get married off at 9 years old and then live in her husband's shadow, scared. One day she goes to go in the school at 11am and the husband is asking the Iran women where his wife and daughter are. She runs in and he beats her up in front of every one, even though she tries to fight back. Especially when he slaps his daughter across her face, but the Iran teachers grab the daughter out of harms way. Scared moody is going to kill her, she runs away from the cab and tries to have the embassy lady help her get her daughter out of school so they can go back to America. When the Iran teachers refuse to give back her daughter and say "only too husband". She freaks out and cries, she pushes the Iran women away and holds on to the embassy lady because she's terrified her husband will kill her and she's stuck in a country she doesn't want to be in. As punishment moody takes the daughter away, locks Betty in the apartment and tells her the other family moved out. All as punishment because she wasn't at school the day he came in to check on her. He then questions the daughter what the mother is up too and the daughter says we got lost and they start yelling and Moody's family comes down and takes the daughter away from him. He brings Betty food and keeps her locked up. Now this is going on a year already Betty is stuck in Iran. Suddenly a bomb explodes right In bettys window and she falls to the floor crying and saying her daughters name. Finally the husband brings back their daughter and he says sorry and I think it hits him, how dangerous Iran is right now. So for the next 6 months Betty stays on her best behavior for moody. He even opens an illegal clinic and she sits there working with him. She wants some of the Muslim tradition, starts getting trust especially from his mother. Moody now allows bettys mother to call her at his office and the mother informs her that the father is sick and dying. So moody tells Betty she can go back to American and see her sick father. She's so excited at first, thinking Moody is back to normal again. Then at dinner he tells her that she will go when he tells her to go and she can not bring their daughter. She freaks out at first but holds it together so Moody doesn't lose it and beat her up. He also wants her to bring back money from American and liquidate their assets. He thinks American owes it to him and Iran is in war because of America! The Iran smuggler warns her not to go because Moody can make sure she never gets backs into the country and have full custody over their daughter. After seeing Iran soldiers Pick up small boys for decoys in war. She realizes she can't go without her daughter, she also finds out from moody. He already booked her flight on the January 26th and she was supposed to sneak out January 29th. The day before she's supposed to leave and Moody's family wishes her a safe flight and bless her father. Moody gets called in to the hospital and Betty then realizes this is her time. With the trust of Moody's mother she allows Betty and her daughter to leave. From there they go and meet the nice Iran man and women who will help smuggle them back to America. From there and a lot of anxiety she goes from smuggler to smuggler with no food or water. As Betty is sleeping a man tries to rape her, one of the smugglers. Another man stands up and tells him to stop it. But the other man gets mad and runs off to go tell the police, there's a girl and women trying to cross the border. From there the man who stopped the other man from raping Betty. But he took her purse, passport and jewelry, helps them rush out of there and cross the border. He gets them to a car and gives her a package, he says something in Parsi and smiles. Betty just looked in shock because she doesn't know who to trust, she was robbed, almost raped and pretty much thought her and her daughter would be killed on the journey! She gets in the car opens the package and sees the man never stole her stuff, but protected it for her. So other smugglers wouldn't try and steal it and her passports and jewelry were in it. Finally she gets off a bus in Turkey, with her mouth parched and starving. She starts walking, carrying her daughter and hears a flag. She sees the American embassy and safely gets home with her daughter. Now I don't think they made Iranians look bad, some actually did help her, even Moody's family. Some were mean and completely brainwashed. But that's their way of living and culture. I think moody loved his daughter very much, but bringing her up Islamic and seeing how miserable she was. Wasn't the best idea, it's a very male dominating country and I think he got brainwashed!
Euphoria (2019)
So addicting!!!!
I thought this show was so stupid and about lesbians. So I was like I'm not going to watch that show it looks dumb and I'm too old for that. One night I was bored and I said let me just watch the pilot. Omg I got hooked and I never do on go shoes ever! I couldn't believe how good this show is, down to the music. The addiction part is pretty spot on, something I myself went through when I was younger also. Just some parts are off when she flips out the drug dealer won't let her in. Then calls her sponsor, no I'm sorry that wouldn't happen in real life. If it was me back then I would have searched all over not just gave up and called my sponsor! Anyways bedsides that's little tiny part the whole show is amazing. I love Maddy and Nate's relationship and I like Maddy character, I like Kay's character too. I thought she was beautiful despite her weight and love how she gets confidence! I also like Cassie's character a lot, she's a beautiful girl with problems. Just like any pretty girl. I don't know about Jules character sometimes I think she's so interesting because she's transgender and looks for men online. But sometimes her character gets boring and then her and Rue end up in a relationship. I wasn't so interested on that. Not because I'm against anything, it just got boring. But there is so many other things in that show that keep you interested, I honestly don't get bored once! I love when they introduce and show you every character in the beginning of that show. They do flashbacks in like 2 minutes about one of the characters life. I honestly love that and like I said it's a really great show to watch. Nothing that you could ever believe! I do love that's in high school, like I always said high school movies are the best. It looks like they also did their research because it's based on what high school is like now a days. Not a lot has changed from I went to high school, maybe just more pics and social media crap! Also I think the beginning was the best, I seen some people say that it gets better. But I loved the first 3-4 episodes the Best, I couldn't stop watching. I'm really glad I saw this because now I'm hooked and I don't get easily hooked on tv shows!
Charlie's Angels (2019)
I watched it for the first time and didn't think it was bad at all.
I saw the original Charlie's angels with Cameron Diaz, drew Barrymore and Lucy lui. They all bored me, I hate stupid plots. But this one I just recently saw, against the bad reviews. I actually really liked it and love how they tied all the Charlie's angels from the past in this movie. I actually really liked the plot, I didn't get bored like I usually do with these movies. It was face paced, good acting, funny females. I was surprised I liked it so much and it didn't get better ratings. I hate Kristen Stewart but she was actually like able In this movie. I think Elizabeth banks did a good job and she's didn't make it all about women. She had Patrick Stewart we Bosley and the story line was actually interesting. It reminded me of the younger better version of Charlie's angels. I like that they didn't do the whole Charlie's angels signature stance. They made it unique and still brought back other members from all the Charlie's angels. I hate movies like this and all about girl power but this was actually really good. That one girl Ella Balinska is so gorgeous. It wasn't all over the place and had different villains. It was a plot twist and the ending was really good! I liked this version the best personally!
Spy (2015)
I don't what's with the bad reviews, this is the funniest movie I ever seen!
I can't believe it got such bad reviews, good thing rotten tomatoes knows funny, good movies because this is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen! From beginning to end, I never got bored, there's no cheesy parts. All the characters are hilarious, especially Jason Statham! Even Rose Byrne is so funny, they all just play well off each other. Yes I know people see Melissa Mcarthy and automatically think it's dumb humor. But it's definitely not, even though she's the main character, all the characters are so beyond funny. There's no stupid dumb humor, it's all really funny. It does help the write did writing for the show office as well. I love how Melissa McCarthy gets stuck with all these really stupid old lady disguises, with cats and she doesn't even own a cat. But Jude law and even her dump partner get awesome undercover disguises. Melissa Mcarthy is mostly behind the desk, but when the man she's in love with gets killed, or she thinks he gets killed. She decides to become a field agent. She has some experience and knows what to do and is smart. But Jude law has kept her behind a desk so long. She doesn't think she can be as good as him, but she goes just to get vengeance for him. Through the movie, with luck and using her brain, she actually becomes a really great spy. With Jason Statham not following the rules, he goes to find find Rose Byrne as well. But she knows all their field agents. So through this whole undercover process, he's just so funny and hilarious and one thing after another. You can't get bored and you laugh the entire time! I can't see how anyone can hate this movie, unless they have no sense of humor. I love the whole movie, the concept and the actual writing is so funny. I would have watched spy 2 if they made it. But I doubt they will ever make it. I'm so sick of stupid humor, with farting and burping and smoking pot. The only other funny movie is bridesmaids and makes me think of that movie when I watch this. I like all the characters and how well they all bounce off each other. It's really good writing and good movie! I even watched the unedited version because we are so obsessed with this movie in my house! Get a sense a humor and watch this. It's a must!!!!
The War of the Roses (1989)
This is my all time favorite movie!
I have loved this movie since I was a little girl till now! This is the best movie ever made, I just love the whole concept. How they were broke and happy in the beginning and loved each other so much. Then when they go everything they wanted. Like the wife got her house and the husband became partner at a law firm he wanted so badly. They had it all and were finally rich living the life. Then everything went downhill. The husband worked constantly and started ignoring his wife needs and stopped talking to her and taking her seriously. He looked at her as the wife he loved who take care of his kids. She started resenting that, especially when he didn't care about her contract. She slowly started falling out of love. To the point she couldn't stand him anymore and he was clueless because he still loved her so much! He has a heart attack scare, she didn't show up to the hospital and then later confesses that she was happy he might have been dead. So that's when the war starts because she asks for a divorce and he doesn't want to give her up so he yelled her no! When the divorce proceedings start she literally doesn't want anything but the house she found. You can tell right there that she really doesn't want to be with him anymore. But he fights her for the house because he still loves her and doesn't want to lose her. So he refuses to give up the house to her and then decides to move back in. Even though they are fighting, hate each others pets and in the middle of getting a divorce! It just turns ugly from there. She does something to him, like not give him a night tablet. So he accidentally runs her cat over, then she locks him in a Sauna for hours, she she cuts all her heels off her shoes. Then she tries to have a dinner party without him knowing, and sells his stuff to fund it. So he sabotages it and pisses on her food she has made for the guest. So she comes back with smashing his favorite car, so he burns her oven and then she breaks all his favorite figurines that cost $1000 of dollars. So he puts everything in his room, they had a big fight. She has bruises all over her, so she writes a note to have a sit down dinner. She asks him one more time to leave because she wants to be happy and he thinks the dinner party was to reunite them. He tells her he won't Leave because he loves her too much, but she doesn't want or love him. So she gets mad and pretends that she made the pate with his dog, he looses it and boards up the entire house. She runs up t the attic, changes her clothes because she's ready to go to war. They fight all night until they are both stuck on this chandelier, they call for help. When the friend and nanny come to check on them. They run to get a ladder, but the husband who knows everything says that the chandelier can hold them both. But also in his defense she loosened it in the attic to try to kill him earlier with it. So they are screwed and both fall to their death. He wakes for a second and puts his hand on her. Then he dies, she wakes up for a second and throws her hand off of her. Then dies, the nanny and friend come with the ladder and realize it's too late. It's a dark comedy that I so happen think it's the best I ever seen. I mean what could anyone really do in that position? She wanted out and didn't make a lot of money, he was rich and didn't want to let her go! I mean for anyone to think that he could have just let her go is nuts. He really loved her and wouldn't let her leave. Plus they both loved that house, especially her because she found it. Wrote a letter everyday until she happen to stumble that the owner died and wanted someone they could trust to buy it. She decorated the entire house and made it beautiful. But then again I wonder if they were better off struggling and living a simple life because they were the happiest. When he started making more money, his attention wasn't all on her. Then she started feeling neglected and just a housewife. Which is understandable, I mean what could she do. She fell out of love with him and wanted that house! I also like how they have the kids in the movie, but not too much. So it doesn't over power their problems in their marriage. Clearly they both loved their kids and did everything and anything for them! I feel like this was a relatable story, that actually can lead to ugliness. Especially their situations and what they been through. It's both their fault because he should have just left her and let her be happy and maybe she should have gave it another try and worked it out with him. Or don't work it out with him and just give up the house, so she could have had peace and happiness. Like she wanted and started her catering business. Like I said before it's a hard situation for both and I just loved how this whole story played out from beginning to end. I can watch this movie over and over again. It's so funny and sick at the same time, but not far fetch from a real life situation. I also love how Danny Devito is the narrator the entire time and how he's telling a story to a client. About the worst situations that could happen when 2 people are in a messy divorce and how one wants out and the other one is still in love. I always heard of someone is going through a divorce and someone doesn't want to give something up. That they aren't totally over that person and it's true!
Betty (2020)
I don't know what the other viewers are watching but I loved it and I'm not even into skateboarding!
I never watched skate land or whatever it's called, but one night I was finding something to watch on HBO, and this show Betty was in. I got into immediately and watched the entire series twice. I love Kirt, so I don't know why people think she's a bad actress. She actually cracks me up, she's supposed to be a stoner, carefree, air head with a temper! I actually love the whole cast except janay. She bores me alittle bit, but I love they even put a love story in their. Between Bambi and Camille, when she gets arrested and she realizes the girls backed her up and got her out. Not the guy who she has been hanging out with. He goes hot and cold in her a lot and he is adorable and smart, but he's a little pompous! I also love how they have indigo as a rich girl, but her mother doesn't give her any money and kicks her out. So you see she doesn't have as easy as people might think. Honey bear comes from a good family, but she hides how artistic she is and that she likes girls because she's afraid that her father won't except her! Then Kirt struggles with how men take over the skateboarding industry and girls get looked down on, but they are just as good or even better than the boys. I'm not into skateboarding, or hippies or smoking pot all day. But I just love how all these girls are all different and just trying to survive in a mans skateboarding world and they all have each others back. I love how it's in the city and they all just a couple of girls who met through the skate park and go through so many things together and separately. I'm super picky with my shows and I hate 99.9% shows that are out there, including Ozark! But this show definitely got my attention and I have watched it twice and hope they come out with a season 2. I have only liked big little lies the first season, You, girls, and sex and the city. Tv shows bore the crap out of me, so I pray they come out with season 2. I want to see why Bambi got so cold to Camille, I think it's because she joined the betties. How indigo and her mothers relationship works out after getting kicked out. If honeybear finally becomes herself to her father and stays with Ash. If Kirt, well Kirt is just a free spirited funny girl and I guess if Janay lightens up a bit. But I highly recommend this show, it was so real and I love shows that are real and you feel the characters.
Into the Dark: Pure (2019)
This really took me by surprise!
I always watch those "inside the dark" Hulu movies but this one blew my mind. I think the setting, actors, story line was all just mind blowing. At first I thought it was some kind of cult movie because the fathers in this purity church thing, are so weird. They treat their daughters like battered wives! Then I thought it was some twisted ghost story that was going to posses a non virgin girl. But it had so many twist and turns that I didn't expect what would happen at the end at all. I watched it like 5 times and I made my friends and mom watch it also. They were all like what is this crap? Then when it's over they all were like wow that was actually really good. These young girls are such great actors and they are stuck in this church camp, where they have to be virgins, wear white and go to a word purity ball with their fathers. The daughters are all messed up in their own ways from their fathers, one girl is in Xanax, another girl likes breaking the rules, another girl has to try to be good because her father is the pastor. But she secretly wants to date and have fun with a boy! This other girl comes in the picture who supposedly just meets her father after 17 years because her mother passed. Then she has all these weird nightmares about Lilith who's a demon. But we find out she's actually an innocent angel who got framed by a man. These fathers want so much control over their daughters and don't respect them at all, that they are lost and don't know what true love is from a father. So anyways the girls do a ritual that brings Lilith the demon back but she's actually trying to help the new girl stay away from harm because the fathers also threw boys in the picture to see if their daughters would kiss them. Like kissing is such a bad thing, but they make think if you do anything with a boy before you are married then you are garbage and a slut. When one of the girls gets caught having sex, she's banished to the box cage to pray. Then the purity ball dance comes and her half sister tries to look for her and finally the girl comes back in and says that she's ok. And that their father knew she was alive the entire time and didn't help her mom or her. So she refuses to sign the contract, they stand up to the pastor. The boys bring out the box and puts the girl shay in it. She prays for Lilith to take over her body so the girls can have the strength to stand up to their fathers. Next thing the girl who kissed a boy takes the other girls Xanax and then takes her father ( the pastor ) gun and shoots herself. Then Lilith finally comes and takes over shay's body, they start to taunt the fathers until Lilith finally kills all them and burns their contracts. I mean I'm not the best writer. But I didn't see the movie going that way at all. I loved the ending and I didn't get bored once. I loved that I don't know where the movie was going and I wish they made more movies like this! This should have gotten a lot more reviews and awards. It really was a one of kind movie that I never imagined how it would end or how good it would be. Anyone who sees it, will definitely like it and I'm picky about movies and shows! But see it for yourself! It's a must see and I will watch it 100 more times, please make more movies like this. It wasn't corny or cheesy or all over the place for a in the dark Hulu movie! This was a great movie from beginning to end!
Little Fires Everywhere (2020)
Best show I seen in a long time!
Now I don't usually read books of movies or tv shows, very rarely. But I do go by the plot and the acting, I don't get into a lot of tv shows. They are all the same and boring, but I really got into this show! Reese Witherspoon is amazing actresses as usual and she makes the show! Kerry Washington, I like some parts of her acting in this and some not so much. I had to rewind a few times to see her expressions because I was either confused of what she was thinking. I didn't know if she was being cold and that's how she's supposed to be and later we find out why she's so quiet and cold to people. I don't like how she automatically hates Reese Witherspoon because she has money, organized, rich and is a good mother. She doesn't know what struggles she has had raising 4 kids. She judges off the bat. Anyways Kerri Washington is cold and weird through the entire movie, even though Reese does try to help her get on her feet. I do feel Reese helped her a lot by giving her that nice house for almost nothing and offering her a job to help clean her mansion! But automatically it gets turned into a weird race, rich, white is entitled thing. But kerris daughter pearl doesn't look at it like that. So again there is reason why Kerri is so weird and cold to every white rich person she meets. But then all of sudden she stops being cold to help an illegal Chinese coworker who gave up her baby and finds the baby. Kerri and Bebe are doing everything to get the baby back, including selling a painting she never wanted to sell. To get the money for a lawyer! So I don't get why Keri was so quick to help a poor immigrate but hate Reese so much for having money and being white. Yes people are right, Kerris acting isn't that great in this show, like I said I had to rewind to figure out what she was thinking. But the show itself it's fantastic, i binged part of it. until they put more episodes on Because it was that good. I really can't wait who started the fires in the house, with Reese inside! And I'm curious what Kerri got arrested for and why she's so into helping this immigrant get her baby back. who left her child at a fire department because she couldn't take care of her! I seen poor single women do what they have too, to make sure they keep their babies and provide food for them. So I'm really interested in finding all that out. On top of pearl the daughter and what happens with her and that cute kid trip and moody! There is so many things wrapped into one, that I didn't get bored once through the whole first season! I really love this show and it's one of the best out there. They could have used a better actress than Kerri Washington, but she's a producer...so I guess that's why! I really hope this show gets noticed and wins an Emmy because i can't stop thinking about it and that's when you know you found a good tv show! This is coming from someone who doesn't like many tv shows except orange is the new black, you and big little lies! I'm so picky and get bored so easily! Little fires everywhere blew my mind!
Miss Bala (2019)
I love this movie!!!
I actually watched this movie because my bf likes stupid gun movies, and I thought it was going to be so stupid. But I got obsessed with the movie. I saw it once and i watched it like 20 times afterwards. I just love Gina Rodriguez acting in this, I never knew how great of an actress she was. I actually felt what she was going through in the entire movie. Her losing her best friend and then ending up working for the cartel and having the DEA also on her ass! I was like imagine you go and visit your best friend and she gets kidnapped and your forced to work with a cartel. Then you try to get help and escape and DEA makes you work for them. Every time something would happen to her, you can feel it. Her acting was phenomenal, and the actor who plays Lino. He was really good too and he's adorable. I loved watching them together through the whole movie. I get bored easily and I don't get bored during this movie at all. Gina Rodriguez is so smart through having to work with cartel and DEA that she would make me so nervous at some parts. I also loved the weird connection between them both through it all, you can tell Lino likes her a lot and wants her to be with him, but you don't really know how she feels. She just wants to find her gf, then at the end she realizes he knew where her gf was the whole time and he used her, just as much as she used him. I don't know why is for such bad reviews, there's not many movies I love that I can watch over and over again. But this movie I can, there's not one moment I get bored and you don't know what will happen.
Most Likely to Murder (2019)
This partially based on the Christine Paolilla story!
I mean it's not totally based on that girls Christine life. She had alopecia and pretty much the same about 2 popular girls giving her a makeup. Down to the red wig she wears at the end and even help with doing eyebrows! She even got voted ms. Inspirational. The only difference is that the real Christine dated a drug addict bf who had a gun and they beat up the girls who helped her and their bfs at a get together. Oh and shot them all! It's a pretty sick true story. So it's true it is based on true events but not exactly the same!
The Hurt Locker (2008)
I usually hate war movies but I loved this one!
I was scrolling through tv one day, ready to take a nap and the hurt locker was on. I caught it from the beginning and then that was it for me. I Thought it was so good and Jeremy renner is so bad ass in it! I mean how he just takes those risks and denotes all those bombs is incredible. And it probably is so hard to go back and live a 9-5 life with family and kids. When your job is trying to constantly save people by disarming bombs that can take out a city! Oh and to the people who couldn't understand the beginning of the movie with the cell phone. Saying that the guy would have been shot immediately! If people actually watched the movie, the soldier Owen said he couldn't get a shot because the Arab with cellphone. Purposely went between the 2 bars. So he couldn't get shot and J.T. Was too far behind, not to mention how Owen had to see a dr. Afterwards because he felt guilty that he couldn't shoot the Arab! He even said in the movie if I shot I could have kept him alive, he even confessed that he was scared. And almost hesitated shooting the other Arab in the desert. Obviously he's a young solider who is good but also scared of actually having to kill people! He admitted many times though the movie! I didn't even find this movie boring at all and I hate war movies! Some of them put me too sleep! But this was done fantastic! I'm so glad James Cameron's ex wife out did him for that stupid movie Avatar! I could watch the hurt locker over and over again! Jeremy renner's performance really made this movie!
We Are Your Friends (2015)
I thought it was such a good movie, especially how I use to be in the club scene!
I don't know why anyone would give this bad reviews, unless they don't understand the club rat life! This was my whole 20s bartenders, promoters, music, festivals, djs. I just love Zac Efron's acting and how he wants to be a famous DJ and he has the talent. But he also has to make money in the real world. I use to love working in clubs but you do eventually have to get a real job as well. I also love the romance story. I mean this girl was so glamorous In the beginning, living and getting taken care of by a rich Dj. Then when he she's has enough of his drinking and cheating. She ends up just a regular girl waitressing and going back to school. That's also a big thing in club life, the constant drinking and doing drugs! It's not appealing to date or live that life on every day basis. It's fantasy but it's a fantastic world to be in at the same time! I loved the ending how he mixed that whole set up at the festival. It was really amazing. I love the 3 friends who Cole gets confused and starts bailing on them a lot for the girl and the famous Dj. Until one of good friends dies he finally gets the courage to make something and do great at the festival and to the women who was losing her house! It really is a fantastic movie based on what club life is really like and how not everyone can be a Dj. You have to have talent.
The Ledge (2011)
It was a good movie but I did have some problems
I do like the movie a lot. A young women who had a trouble past ends up with a born again Christian. Who she believes saved him, but she doesn't love him. He's mentally abusive and controlling in a lot of ways. I don't blame her. When the couple moves in to the apartment building, there is a single gorgeous hotel manager that she meets on the bus, then wants a job. Obviously he hires her and they do start to get very close in their friendship, which turns romantic. He actually does love her and wants her to be her own person and stop being controlled by her husband. She feels guilt not because she loves her husband because she feels she owes him for saving her, when she was younger. But like any person she deserve Love and happiness and that's where Gavin comes in. They connect instantly and end up having a hot and steamy affair. They fall head over heals for each other. But the crazy controlling Christian husband starts to suspect them. He looks In her phone, then starts to follow her. Finally he confronts Gavin and says it's either you sacrifice yourself or I kill her, as he quotes from the Bible! He has to go on a ledge and jump exactly at noon or he will shoot his wife. Now this is what makes me nuts in the end! An officer is talking to him through the whole time his up on the ledge and the officer has another plot that goes on in the movie. But the officer realizes the husband has to be across the street in the hotel watching Gavin. So why didn't the officer tell Gavin they were looking on floor 9 trying to catch the husband and wife? Why didn't the officer tell Gavin before you jump let's see if we can catch the guy first? Also why didn't Gavin put it together and maybe spared his life and end up with the love of his life. Just by realizing the husband was in his hotel watching him the entire time. Why didn't Gavin tell the cop from the get go why he was up on the ledge. So they could have found the husband sooner, with the wife tied up and gagged. I get that Gavin's little girl died in a car accident and he was driving. So he always felt responsible for his littles girls death. I get it's a movie and had to be more suspenseful if he would actually jump off the ledge or not. But I would have loved to see Gavin and (liv Tyler) Shane end up together. I felt bad that she was such in a bad controlling marriage with Joe. She actually got to see what it's like to be with a man who supports, makes her feel alive and loved. Real love! I was pissed that Gavin actually jumped, 2 seconds after they found Joe in the hotel room. I wish the cop would have told Gavin they were looking on floor 9 for him and Shana. That the police was going to find them. But I guess that was supposed to be the movie or it wouldn't be a "movie". Some things like that bothered me. Plus Gavin could have said to the cop my gf is being held up by her physco husband and he wants me to jump or he's going to shoot her! Maybe the cop wasn't thinking straight either because he was going through other stuff at home during the time!
Hotel Artemis (2018)
It actually was good!
It was late one night and this movie was on so I started watching it. Thinking it was going to be stupid, but it turned out I got really into it. I couldn't go back to sleep because I got so into this movie! I love the whole premise of it, the hotel/hospital that only takes in criminals. Jodie foster is nurse and she does a great job in this and so does Everest (nurses body guard/security). Then there is a twist why some checked in to the hospital. Not just to get help but to take someone out and I mean kill them. This is all happening while outside is in complete chaos and war. Also you have to follow the rules and one of the rules is never help cops and they aren't allowed in the hotel. But nurse sees a girl she knew who is a cop but her son was good friends with. Nurse's son died and she thinks from a drug overdose. But we find out more. She's a no nonsense women who runs the entire hotel and helps criminals. She drinks but you find out the reasoning later on. I'm telling you don't listen to the reviews and actually give this movie a chance because I was pleasantly surprised. Not to mention I have never seen a movie like this. I love how original it was.
Sex and the City 2 (2010)
I don't know why everyone took this movie so personally!!!
People need to calm down, especially about going to the Middle East. I actually love this movie and enjoyed it a lot. I watched it many times and just love the different aspects of the film. Starting with the wedding for Stanford and Anthony! It's like I was watching the tv show. I love that Carrie is terrified because her and big aren't having kids and people are making them feel bad about it. That she's scared they will be a boring couple, especially how he just wants to sit home and watch tv every night. Every women has had that fear, even if you finally got the man you always wanted. Charlotte is annoying but she always annoyed me. I still like her story line about her nanny being hot and husband cheating. Because that's what rich men do a lot of the times and end up sleeping with nanny. So she knows she has it easier than most women who have kids. She just has a typical rich women problem that many celebrities went through. Miranda has always tried to have a great career and she's finally having problems with it. That was always the one thing she could control in her life, that she was a successful lawyer and now she can't anymore. And Samantha with the hormones, she's in her 50s and in menopause. It's a typical thing women go through. Despite all their problems they still decide to take a vacation, which I thought was great because we never really saw them go away. Except on Carrie's Mexico honeymoon. So this was a good touch to put in the film. I love watching all the luxuries they get with this vacation, all the food, the airplane ride and clothes! I thought it was amazing. Also seeing the Middle East and their culture and how women are very limited. When New Yorkers go, Its like shell shock! Carrie sewing Aiden was great too because now she's with big and afraid the marriage will end up boring and lonely. She could see if Aiden was really the one or not. Which he wasn't because once she kissed him she felt regret right away and imagined Herself that lost single girl again. It's relatable, anytime in life you make a life long decision. You sometimes go back to the "what if". So I'm glad they added that. And I did like no matter how many thing a they were offered in the Middle East. They all missed the freedom in America. Sometimes you want to run away from home, just to realize it's the best place to be. Oh and for the record I loved when Samantha makes that scene with the condoms when her bag dropped and broke! It was annoying they were all yelling at her for being a women! Again I love this movie and can't see why so many people hated it. Only based on a cheesy story line or how they weren't accurate about the Middle East. But it was supposed to be fun and cheesy. That's sex and the city! I always wanted a 3rd one and still hope for it.
Tart (2001)
I actually really loved this movie a lot!
I almost didn't watch it based on the reviews. But thank god I took a chance and did because I always loved brad renfro's movies! People wanted this to be a typical happy high school movie. Based on the movie title and the description, life isn't always about happiness. Especially when you are in high school, this isn't a typical girl wants to be popular movie. It's very raw and deep and I wasn't bored at all. I thought it was well made and felt more like real life. Always seeing the rich popular kids as the best things in the world when you are on the outside. Then when you become one of them, you actually see they are just as messed or more messed up than you. The grass always seems greener, then you get even more disappointed and let down. And end up missing your old life with your old friends. I don't know why people thought it was blue or boring. I really got into it and highly recommend it to others. Do not listen to these reviews, people just want life to be happy always when it comes to movies!
Parkland: Inside Building 12 (2018)
Thought it was very moving and actually see what happen!
I thought this documentary was very well done! It showed what actually happen in that school building. With 17 murdered and 15 injured. It wasn't drawn out or boring, very raw and brought a lot of emotion to the shooting. It's so very sad how a expelled student walked in with a gun and shot up 3 floors in a school building. The police didn't get there in time, the security officer (who had a gun! Didn't go in and help. The police was warned and few days prior and didn't take the warning seriously enough. You get a look right into the school and how the shooter went to each floor and just shot all these kids and teachers and then exited the building when he was done! It's a very good documentary and I highly recommend it.
Cam (2018)
Don't listen to others, this is a great, interesting movie!
I don't know why all the poor reviews? I almost didn't watch it because of the stupid reviews! But I gave it a try and loved it. I love the whole Lola/Alice trying to make the top 50-to top 10 to top 1 and having men watch girls do stupid things and throwing money at them. I can see why a girl would do this, you don't even need to get naked to make thousand of dollars on the site! The concept was unique and awesome. Alice tries all these crazy ideas to make the best live videos, for money and top 50. Eventually she sees a doppelgänger who is doing disgusting things, disrespecting her and her family 24/7 on the live web. So Alice is trying to find out who this person is and so are we. There are so many people that come in and out of her life that can be the suspect. It keeps you guessing till the end. As for the end I loved that also. You find out the website uses some of the popular girls web cams. To build them up to the top and to make 100% profit, they don't have to split the money with the girls. If they are using photoshopped, virtual reality doppelgängers. Alice freaks out as her life is falling apart, her family finds out and she's not even making money. Someone stole her identity and she's trying to find out why this is happening and who is doing it. When she finally realizes and hears the truth from a perv IT guy names tinkerboy who has been obsessed with the website. He's not in on it but he's seen the girl website has replaced a girl before. Who dies in a car accident. They still have her live even though she died. Alice finally confronts the website and her virtual doppelgänger and smashes her face in. She breaks her nose and doesn't get it fixed. Just to purposely change her look and go back on the website as someone else. Even though she went through hell, the money was very good and this time she's not using a real person. So she continues to do it at the end, the only difference is. She is being someone fake. So the website can't steal her identity ever again! It was entertaining all the way through and can relate to today's lifestyle.
